Devine toy lace box - storage container by DevineToys / AfterCare - review by Yaoi Pervette

Are your favorite toys scattered everywhere? Are they lolling in your drawers with your socks and undies and in need of a space of their own? Devine Toys has created beautifully constructed storage boxes especially for your favorite playthings. Each 10" x 5" x 5" box is lined in smooth, luxurious satin and features a lockable metal closure.

The Devine Toys Lace Box in black/purple sports a padded lid in purple satin with a black lace overlay (the satin looks blue in the product photo, but it is purple like the matching Condom Cube). The padded lid wraps around the back of the box. The lid has a flap that overlaps the front of the box by 2 1/2". The flap has a metal trimmed slot through which the closure passes. The closure is a hinged tab in the shape of an inverse omega symbol. Once the tab is passed through the slot on the lid flap, the included padlock can be looped through the tab to lock the box. Should you choose to not lock your box, the hinged tab can be folded down to hold the box closed.

The exterior walls, the bottom, and inside of the lid of the box are covered in smooth, black faux leather. The Devine Toys logo is embossed in the lower right hand corner of one of the side walls of the box. The interior of the box is lined entirely in smooth, black satin. A black satin ribbon is attached from the lid to the side wall of a box, so the lid does not flop open. When I received the box, a vellum tag was attached to this ribbon with the Devine Toys logo and website URL printed on it.

The included lock and keys should be inside the box upon receipt. They will be wrapped in a tiny plastic baggie. The two keys are on a single ring. Though this lock should keep most people out of the box, it is not very sturdy. In fact, I was able to slide the outer casing of the lock upward, exposing the internal mechanism. If someone manages to do this, all it would take is a quick press of the mechanism with a pen tip and the lock would spring open. Since locking the box is not important to me, I put the lock and keys aside. Those who really need a lock might want to consider replacing the included lock with a better quality luggage lock.

The box is capable of storing just about anything that will fit inside. You need not even use it for sex toys. For a somewhat small box, I was impressed with how much I was able to fit inside of it. Right now, my box contains:

-Jopen Vanity Vr5 with its charger and original drawstring bag

I still have room to spare, and I would have even more room if I removed the Lelo flogger from its box. This box is perfect for a small collection or for stashing a few of your most frequently used toys in plain sight for easy access. The box is discreet enough that nobody would assume it contains sex toys if you left it out in the open.

For those who have larger collections, I suggest a different solution. For what it is, this box is on the pricey side. Buying multiple boxes would be quite costly. Of course, if owning several of these boxes is your desire, don't let my opinion about the price stop you!

If the need to clean the Devine Toys Lace Box arises, I would suggest going over it lightly with a slightly damp cloth. Make sure not to soak the material, or you might end up with water stains. To protect your box, I would suggest that you keep lube, toy cleaner, and other liquids in ziploc bags to prevent leaks or spills. With a few precautions, the Devine Toys Lace Box should last a very long time.
