Maximus - lubricant by Bodywise Limited - review by sandblastedskin

After moving away from the typical "big box" store lubes such as KY and the like, my girlfriend and I decided to try some different, non-warming lubes (The warming lubes caused her pain). Most of the other lubes we had tried required us to constantly have to reapply during sex and were extremely messy. That being said, the Maximus lubricant was an improvement over some other brands to a certain extent.

Maximus comes in a clear bottle with a very convenient pump on the top of it, much like a bottle of hand lotion. It's great to put on the night stand next to the bed, where you can easily reach over and pump some extra if need be. This also keeps everything nice and clean; no animal fur or dirt sticking to the bottle and getting everything all nasty. Maximus has no color, odor or taste to it.

When used for sex, we still have to reapply fairly often as it tends to dry out quickly, depending on the position we are in and how rigorously we are doing it. We do tend to have sex for long periods of time which certainly would account for some of this. When used for masturbation there was no need to reapply for either of us.

It has a fairly heavy texture to it, similar to that of warmed up maple syrup. As indicated in the product description the thicker consistency would make it suitable for heavier applications such as anal play as well as vaginal sex and masturbation. It would probably not be suitable for oral sex.

Overall, we were pretty pleased with Maximus. It is pretty versatile as far as its potential applications. It is water based so it can be used with silicone toys as well. Our biggest complaint with this product is the fact that when it dries out it tends to congeal into small sticky beads that can be difficult to clean off.
