Maximus - lubricant discontinued by Bodywise Limited - review by ShadowedSeductress

I got Maximus because it's many good reviews and intended to use it for anal and vaginal sex. You can also use it for solo play. The thickness is great for vaginal, a good alternative to silicone since a lot don't like the cleanup that silicone lube usually requires. It is much thicker than the average water-based lubricant which is great. Since it is water-based, it's not good to use in the water as it will wash away.

Unfortunately, Maximus lubricant contains parabens, which some can have allergies to. If you know you are allergic to them, stay away from this one. It tastes terrible so I wouldn't recommend using it for oral sex.

The main reason I got this lube is because I heard it was much thicker than the average water-based lube. It definitely lives up to these claims, but I found that the texture felt a little bit stringy. This could very well be due to the thickness. The absolute best thing about this is that it has a pump top which makes it so easy to retrieve from the bottle, and keeps you from getting lube all over the bottle. I've definitely fumbled with a bottle or two of lube when trying to close the top and set it down again. The lube stays in place much longer due to it's thickness.

Overall it just feels too thick. It feels a little as if I was trying to have sex with hair gel, just not quite as sticky. I find that the thickness to this degree is counter-productive and just slows things down.

The lube dries a little bit sticky and I do find that I feel the need to wash up after use.

It has a slight smell to it, but nothing that is overwhelming. The worst is the taste. Holy crap it's terrible. I'm not talking a light taste, like a lot of lubes have. This is a full on nasty chemical like taste. I would strongly recommend against using this for oral sex.

The thickness of this lube just seems to make things worse when trying to have anal and vaginal sex. It slows things down for us and we ended up reaching for our Sliquid Sassy lube, which is thicker than normal, but not this thick. It got sticky and made us want to wash up after use which is just frustrating. The last thing anyone wants to do after sex is is jump up to go clean themselves off.

Maximus comes in a clear bottle with a pump top. It's a generous size at 8.25 ounces, and that pump top is so much more convenient than I ever expected. I now want to get some for all of my lubes. The one downside to the pump top is no fault of the actual lube. It's frustrating to lock for travel, and in order to lock it you have to press it down and waste some lube. It clearly says sensual lubricant, so it isn't discreet at all.
