Maximus review
This lube is long lasting, smooth, and makes for great play out of the water. -And when done is very easy to clean up. This is the best anal lubricant, hands down. We won't ever use another.Published: May 17, 2008

I feel compelled to talk about this product. That's how good this stuff is. It's great for keeping the whole experience nice and smooth without any of the pinching feeling that comes along with anal sex (that is, of course, assuming my fiance gets the angle right upon entrance). After that the experience is absolutely orgasmic.
My man and I had a problem when first attempting anal in that he was quite a bit too large for my tight little ass and it hurt really badly with conventional lubes. As soon as we tried "Maximus" that problem went almost completely away and I came in about 45 seconds. It was a good time.
The water base in it makes sure that there is absolutely no gunking like there can be with silicone based lubes. It also makes for ridiculously easy clean up because it’s water soluble too. There is one drawback to that, however, in that you can’t use a water based lube for in water play like in a pool or in the bathtub. I personally love to get fucked in the shower so this is a little bit of a drawback for me but it’s certainly nothing that will sway my opinion of the product.
My boy-toy says it’s by far the best from his end too. He says he has to use more of this stuff than he does of the silicon lube but over-all he says once you get enough on there it’s way better than anything else. It’s just smooth enough that it still lubes but when he wants to get rough it doesn’t hurt either one of us but it’s just sticky enough that it stays on the whole time. At least we both always come way before we ever need to re-apply.

I know most people absolutely love this lube, but when I try to use it, it feels like my genitals are on fire! Could it be due to the parabens? Any thoughts, or any recommendations for another thicker water-based lubricant?

I'm not sure if it's kosher to mention a competitor's product here, but BabeLube is a wonderful water-based lube that's comparable in thickness to Maximus.

Maximus is my go-to lube. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with it.

Is Maximus as Great as The Reviews Say?

Two negative things I've seen written are that it has a bitter aftertaste and it does peel off, dry, and need to be washed off.
Positives and opposites I've heard are that it has a natural tasteless feel similar to saliva, and it is a thicker lubricant. Also the pump looks like a great feature that makes this product less messy.
I would like to try it for myself, and wonder if it is really the go-to lube for me, and for others like me. -
This is my favorite water-based lube, hands down and without a doubt. It's pretty thick (ideal for backdoor fun). I've fallen asleep with it on my hands and don't wake up with fuzzy or sticky palms (until they get wet, then it reactivates).

Does Maximus come in any other size bottles? I feel like 8 oz. would be a lot for me to use before it goes bad. Also, it seems like a big bottle to store somewhere discrete.

It really isn't very big - I have mine it a bedside drawer. Maximus is so thick that you don't have to worry about it leaking unless you really press on the bottle. If my mind isn't playing tricks on me, the bottle is about 2-3/4" in diameter and 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall (including pump), and I think it's closer to 4.5
I think mine's good to 2013 or something (I'm not at home now, but I can check later), so I wouldn't worry about it going bad -
