Hitachi magic wand vibrator review

Ah, the Hitachi Magic Wand, a device beloved by millions of women. I will try to provide a little male perspective on this device.

The concept is pretty simple: Take a strong vibrating motor and attach a round head to it with a slightly bendable neck and you pretty much have the Hitachi. I think that it was originally designed as a massage device for use on non-sexual parts of your body, but I am sure that it did not take any one very long to determine that it would feel good on sexual parts as well. Since then, it has become a staple of many sex toy chests throughout the free world.

The complete lack of batteries makes the Hitachi different from many sex toys. Having the device plug into the wall allows for the very strong motor at the heart of the Hitachi and keeps you from being interrupted in your enjoyment session by an inopportune set of drained batteries. It also means that you are hampered by a cord. So, hopefully you have a plug near the area where you are pleasing yourself (or being pleased as the case may be) or you have an adequate extension cord available.

As for actual use, at first I thought the Hitachi would be too powerful to be pleasurable when applied to my nether regions, so we started with it in its more mundane use – a back rub. However, not one to shy away from a new experience, at my request, my partner moved the Hitachi down to my buttocks and then between my open legs. I was surprised by how good the sensations felt on my perineum. I quickly flipped over on to my back and my partner went to work more directly on my genitals. It felt amazing as she continued lightly applying the wand to my perineum and my balls. She slowly started moving it up and down my now hard shaft as well. It did not take very long or much coaxing and I was able to have a very enjoyable orgasm. I don't think she ever put the motor on high either.

For my partner’s experience, I will say that she has found the wand to be enjoyable as well. She is not as much into vibration induced orgasms as a lot of other women seem to be, so it was okay for her. She would probably be more excited if we also had one of the caps designed for penetration like the Gee Whizzard. In fact, I would be interested in trying something like that for anal stimulation as well. Maybe we’ll have to make an additional investment soon.

Overall, I give the Hitachi Magic Wand four stars. Although it is not our favorite toy, I like having it and know it will be very useful to us. I think it could be improved by not having a cord, but I am not sure what effect that would have on the motor strength.
