I got more recommendations for Ryder than any other other toy ever. It seems that pretty much anyone who had tried it loved it. I was not let down. Ryder is an amazingly comfortable plug.

Ryder is a bulb shaped plug with a flat base. The silicone used to make this plug is smooth and soft, slightly squishy, yet still firm enough to be inserted easily. I just love the look and feel of this plug. The Silicone is just beautiful. My plug is purple, like a metallic deep purple marble.

The rounded tip of Ryder is wide, almost as wide as the rest of the plug. So, there is no gradual insertion. Some may require warm up with other toys before being able to insert Ryder. Due to the super smooth silicone, very little lube is required. The first time I used this toy I think I used too much lube. It went in easily and stayed in pretty well. But, I was also using a dual stimulation vibe at the time and while climaxing Ryder pushed itself out somewhat. I have not had that happen to me since that first time, as I have been a little more conscious of how much lube I am using.

Ryder is 4 1/4 inches in total length, a 3 3/4 inch insertable length and 4 3/4 inches in circumference at it's widest point, The 'neck' of the plug is just under an inch long and 7/8 inches wide. and the base is a rectangular shape that fit nicely between the cheeks.

The filling shape of this plug, paired with the slightly squishy texture and that comfortable base make Ryder and easy plug to wear. You can wear it easily for long periods of time. Really the only things that Ryder can't do is work as a thrusting toy. The short neck does not allow for much movement once the plug is in place.

Ryder comes in a clear box with the plug suspended in a pull out tray. The plug seems to kind of float in the middle of the box with product information written all around the toy.

This ultra premium silicone toy is very easy to care for. Wash with antibacterial soap or toy cleaner and rinse with warm water. You can also boil, bleach or toss it in the dishwasher to sanitize.

Water based lubes are compatible with this plug. Please remember that silicone toys do not play well with silicone lubes.

Yes, you can use oil based lube but if you do don't put a condom on the toy it will break down.

Thanks for the review Syd.

  • Can we get more toys in Copper?
    • The Ryder in Copper is so pretty. I'd love to see more toys offered in this colour. :) Is that likely to happen at all? I haven't seen it on any other listing. Is this colour discontinued?

Yes, it sure has been discontinued. It was weird - Copper was a slow seller, and we got some feedback from retailers that it wasn't at all popular. Then when we discontinued last Spring it got snapped up pretty quickly. I only have closeouts left, but we're hoping that by discontinuing Copper we'll have more time in the production schedule to pursue other colors.
    • Glow in the dark? That's my favorite color! Maybe something black light reactive?

  • Why should you never use silicone on a silicone toy?
    • Why should you never use silicone on a silicone toy?
    • Some, not all silicone lube will 'stick' to silicone material. I have read that some premium silicone lubes will work with some premium silicone materials. You can try some on the base and see, when I last tried it kinda etched the silicone material. (does that make sense) It left a indentation were the lube was.

That's the basics, Some of the other members can give a more technical answer.
    • Some silicone lubes will bond to some silicones. This seems to be more of an issue the softer the silicone is, so toys like O2 and VixSkin will be more susceptible (makes sense, as the silicone has fewer crosslinks). Quality lubes seem to have less of a problem also, and it is likely that cheaper silicones might have more of a problem.

I have tested quality silicone lube on several quality silicone toys and did not notice a permanent problem, but (a) the toys developed "hives" that lasted for a few hours (was gone the next day) and (b) it's really hard to clean the silicone lube off of the toys, but it can be done. While this is purely subjective, but it seemed that the silicone lube wasn't as "lubey" on silicone toys. I don't use silicone lube on silicone toys anymore - it's just not worth the trouble.

  • Is this going to be in stock soon?
    • If you haven't noticed, I've been going over my wishlist (see the O2 discussion) and I've noticed that this plug that I've wanted forever isn't even in stock. Will it be restocked?
    • That's funny. Two of the toys that I want to purchase are out of stock as well. The Vixen Ryder and Johnny. Then I noticed that several Vixen products are out of stock at the moment. I wonder when all of these toys will be restocked.
