Plug Me Up Before You Go Go!

Ryder is the most comfortable plug that I've come across. It's great for long term or short term wear, and it works well with slim dildos to achieve double penetration. It's the ultimate stepping stone for larger toys and a fabulous warm-up for the real thing.

Use

This butt plug's intended use is as the name suggests. It plugs up your butt. This plug is great for intermediate players to warm up for larger toys, or for casual wear. With the help of a moderate amount of water-based lube, and some patience, this plug slips snugly into place. You can wear it while running errands, having sex, during toy play, or as a warm-up for a larger plug, penis, dildo, or some other safe, phallic object.

Material / Texture

Ryder is made from Tantus' premium silicone. Silicone rates a 10 on Eden's Safety Scale. It is non-porous, non-toxic, phthalates-free, and hypoallergenic. Super Duper! There is some drag, but it's easily rectified with water-based lube. I've found that thicker water-based lube works best for insertion.

The finish on the silicone is smooth. Ryder does have some give when you squeeze it. It's slightly firmer than the soft silicone of the O2 Cush, also by Tantus. There is some flex to the head, but it's most flexible at that neck. The base is also flexible. All of these factors make it great for long term wear.

DO NOT USE SILICONE OR OIL-BASED LUBE! IT WILL MAIM THE TOY! If you're adamant about using a silicone or oil-based lube, make sure to spot test first.

Design / Shape / Size

Ryder's head looks intimidating because it's on the blunt side. But with a little bit of patience, and the will to persevere, you too can enjoy this fun plug. The head becomes wider gradually, and then it tapers down smoothly to a lovely sized neck. The smooth taper allows the head to sit snugly and comfortably against the sphincter. The length of the neck allows the plug to move with your body, opposed to strangling your butthole.

The base of the Ryder is tall enough that it doesn't fold and become dangerous. It's wide enough to be safe, and slim enough to be comfortable. I fell in love with the design of this toy as soon as I held it in my hands. I had only experienced a very slim plug before Ryder, and was wary of its size. I found it be a great stepping stone for larger plugs and toys. It's a great in-between size for beginners and intermediate players. I think advanced players could use this as an every day plug, for just wearing around the house.

I took a pic of the old Ryder and the new and improved Ryder, so you can see how they've improved the design.

Performance

One of the main reasons Ryder has become my go-to plug is because of how well it works with my body. The firmness of the head of the plug makes it an easy insertion. The slightly squishy head allows it to be comfortable and not poke the walls of the colon. The neck flexes just enough so I can sit, stand, or jump up and down without feeling discomfort. It allows Ryder to work with my body, rather than against it. The base on this plug doesn't look all that comfortable, but it really is. I don't experience any chafing or "jabbing" between the cheeks. I leave a little bit of Maximus lube on the base, so that it allows the base to move with my body. Even pulling this toy out is enjoyable. Since the head tapers smoothly into the neck, it allows you to remove it without any real discomfort. All around, I am in love with Ryder.

Care and Maintenance

Silicone, how I love cleaning, thee. Silicone is easy to clean and sterilize. You can use toy cleaner, or soap and water. To sterilize, you can boil it for 3-5 minutes, or run it in the dishwasher without soap. There can be a smell after use, but if you leave the toy out for 30 minutes to an hour, it will dissipate. Since the silicone can collect fuzz and hair, I keep Ryder in a Ziploc baggie.

Packaging

The packaging for Tantus' Ryder is non-discreet clear plastic with orange. The backside is opaque with Tantus' mission statement, and speaks of the beauty that is silicone. Inside, Ryder is held in place in a plastic clamshell. I found it to be cumbersome to open and close, and to deal with the three tabs on the top of the box. So, I recycled it and put Ryder in a plastic baggie.

Experience

The older Ryder was the second plug I'd ever owned. I had heard great things about it and had to try it. I loved the feel, but the base gave me some serious issues. When I saw that they had come out with a new and improved model, I had to have it.

When I received it, I was thrilled to find that base was extremely comfortable. I like to wear plugs for upwards of three hours. I like to do errands, housework, toy play, or just hang out, all while wearing a plug. I have had some difficulty using Ryder for double penetration with larger toys (like Tantus' Anaconda, which is quite girthy). When I use Ryder with a slim dildo, the results are amazing. I do use Ryder for warm-up for larger plugs and dildos, with a high success rate. Whenever I'm looking to spice up my mundane house work, I get some lube, grab Ryder, and Wham! My day is that much better for it.

Thanks for the outstanding review and pics! It was a joy to edit, and even more so to read. The Ryder is my favorite plug, too. I didn't even realize there had been a version 1.0 before it. Awesome.

Thank you, everyone! I was thrilled when I saw the new base for Ryder. That was the one thing I had problem with. Thanks, Spiced, for editing! Marvelous job. I'm always so bad about paragraphing.
