I bought this toy quite some time ago. If you are a beginner on anal, with a diameter of only one inch, this is the perfect toy. Of course you can always find something smaller if needed. If you are not sure how much an inch is, take a tape measurer and check. That is what I did to be sure.
It's insertable length of 4 1/2 inches is also good. It is not too much but not the right toy if you prefer to have more to insert. You can insert it completely to the base no problem. But with every anal toy, be sure to use lube for easier access. If not using enough lube though, you may have a hard time inserting the toy, it bends easily. Toys that bend can be a little annoying so be sure to use as much lube as needed.
This toy has a nice fun shape to it as well. Resembling a real penis, but quite thinner, it has its own penis head with a detailed corona (part of the penis head) and is only as thick as the rest of the dildo. Its base also has a good hold. It is just the right size (for my average sized girl hands), and is not too small.
The price is perfect for this toy. Only ten dollars is all they ask. It is perfect quality for that amount of money. It is really strong so even then your dollars will not go to waste.
Sadly I can not be quite precise on the packaging since I bought this toy a year ago, but if I remember correctly, it was a nice sturdy packaging.
The only bad thing I would say about this toy is that the material can be a little tricky. It catches on everything. I washed this toy with simple warm water and soap. The problem is that you can not dry it with a towel. The fluff from it will stick to the toy and be very hard and annoying to take off by hand. So will dust and hair. Maybe if you shake the water away by hand. Or you could buy these Wipes and not have to do that. Easy to use and dries fast so you can put your toy away right after cleaning it. I would also recommend buying a sex toy box to keep your toys clean from dust and hairs.
I am still giving this toy a 5 star review. As recommended above, there is an alternative way to clean this toy that won't be as fussy.

Has anyone used the Doc Johnson anal starter with a harness?

what size o ring did you use?

I wouldn't recommend it. Too short of an insertable length, not made of bodysafe material, and the flange doesn't have enough size difference with the body to ensure that it's securely held in a harness.
If you must then I'd go with one as close to 1" as you can get the dildo into.

Anal Started Differences?

I'm wondering about the two "Anal Starter" dildos.
When I compare them side by side, they show some different details, like the measurements.
But, when I switch between them in the 1:1-views, there's barely a difference besides the base a bit and the color of course.
So, are the details correct or are they really not different at all?
Besides, again, the color and the shape slightly.
I'd really like to know this, especially the correct measurements, it would help me out a lot. :) -

I would NOT recommend this product for anal play, but that is just my opinion. The base is not flared enough for my comfort level. If you wanted to stick low cost and with Doc Johnson, I'd suggest this one instead. The base is a bit more differentiated for the rest of it.
