The Doc. Johnson’s Anal Starter is a nice petite dildo that can be used in a variety of ways. You cannot only use it anally, but also vaginally. It even works great in a harness. Whether you use this toy with a partner or solo, the base feels great in your hand and gives you full control over the toy. Best of all, the petite design is comfortable for those who don’t enjoy a large girth, those who are beginning their journey with dildos or anal play.

The Doc Johnson's Anal Starter according to EdenFantasys, is made of PVC which scores a 2 on EdenFantasys material safety scale due to its porous quality and inability to be thoroughly sterilized. Therefore, you should always use a condom over this toy if it is going to be shared between orifices or partners. PVC is a durable and light weight material. Therefore, you can rest assured that this toy will not deteriorate due to use. Also, PVC is Polyvinyl chloride, according to this recourse, not biodegradable in our landfills.

In contrast the package indicates that this is made of Sil-A-Gel. Aalthough this material scores a 5 on Eden's safety scale and resists bacteria, it is always safe to use a condom over the toy.

Non-realistic and non-intimidating, this dildo has a tapered head and slender shaft. The Anal Starter has a smooth texture and is bulged at the head. It is also flexible and can bend under pressure. Therefore, I suggest only inserting 3 inches at a time with a firm grip on the remaining length to ensure easy insertion. In addition, it is sleek and without texture or seams.

As part of Hubby’s anal play experiment he ordered this toy. Although, Hubby was excited about the possibilities of this toy, I had my apprehensions due to the smell. But, I’ll tolerate just about anything to please Hubby.
Hubby really enjoyed the experience of using this toy. It seemed to provide enough girth to rub his p-spot while not feeling stretched and stuffed. The small ridge on the head was smooth and did not hurt at all. In addition, the size was easy to handle as one of his first anal toys.

In my harness the toy felt great. It did not flip flop around and was easy to insert holding my hand half way down the shaft. I found that setting the harness lower on me allows the Anal Starter’s base to sit nicely on my clit and provide nice stimulation for me. The only time I could smell the toy was if my face was close to it and when in my harness the smell was not noticeable.

Hubby used this toy solo with no trouble at all and rather enjoyed it. Although it did not provide strong p-spot stimulation, he had no trouble positioning it to achieve excellent stimulation.

Due to the type material this toy is made from we did not share it. Therefore, I was not able to try it vaginally.

We give this toy 4 stars. Although its design and craftsmanship is impeccable, we are deducting a star for the smell and its inability to be sterilized.

This toy is porous therefore I suggest using a condom when playing with it. To clean it you can use a 10% bleach and water mixture, warm water and anti-bacterial soap, or your favorite toy cleaner. You cannot boil this item to sanitize it since the soft material may melt ruining your new dildo.

To store this item, I place it in a bag in my toy box with PVC written on the bag so I remember to use a condom over it.
