My Ass Loves Glass

The Moon Shine glass plug is pure Pyrex perfection. It's beautiful to look at and feels so heavy yet comfortable when it's nestled inside the body. I get off just contracting my muscles around this toy. Seriously. I've never been so instantly turned on by using a toy in my life.

Use

I have always been against glass toys, at least mentally (fucking paperweights) , but the Moon Shine butt plug by SSA Glass (haha, read the company name backwards) is the loveliest sex toy I have ever stuffed in my anal orifice. It's rigid and smooth and cold and just unbelievably arousing. Just holding it in my hand, feeling the thick glass slowly warming up, gets me in the mood for booty bumping. I am in love. Those with little experience to anal sex may find the plug uncomfortable or just too much of a challenge, but if you're a glass fan or crave yummy toys in your bummy, the price for the Moon Shine can't be beat.

Before we get into the fun stuff, here's a warning: never thrust this, or any glass plug, or ANY plug too hard up your ass. Damage can be caused by doing so and sex for the night will be ruined, I promise you. And with glass? Be extra careful. Pushing too hard at the wrong angle isn't a good idea. Why? Because it fucking hurts, that's why.

Material / Texture

The Moon Shine plug is made of Pyrex, the brand name for rolled borosilicate glass. This is top notch, medical grade material, people. It will not shatter when dropped or crack and can go straight from a steaming hot dishwasher directly into a freezer with no problems whatsoever. This is why medical and laboratory equipment is made of Pyrex. It's durable, almost fool proof, and if you take care of it like it takes care of you, it will last a lifetime. It is also able to be fully sterilized. FULLY. Boil it with bleach, stick it in the dishwasher, whatever. Hell, I threw mine in an autoclave in the lab I used to work in and it came out fine. For the record, that means it was flash-steamed at a heat of 121°C, or 250°F at 15psi. Yeah. That fucker is spotless, let me tell you.

Pyrex is also exceptional for those into temperature play. The plug itself stays cool and can provide a nice shock when inserted as is. But if you're looking for a warmer plug, just run the toy under warm water for a few seconds, or warm it up in your hands and it becomes cuddly and warm. Well, not cuddly, but definitely warm.

There is absolutely no taste or smell to the glass, and it doesn't retain the dreaded "butt smell" that some toys seem to acquire after backdoor action. This is a solid plug made from a solid material that gives solid orgasms.

Design / Shape / Size

The Moon Shine plug is just under 4" long so it can easily fit in the palm of your hand. With a diameter of 1 5/8", it's suitable for all anal enthusiasts, though beginners to the world of buttsex may want to start out with a more pliable plug, something with a little give to it.

The plug has a "spade" shape to it, with a soft taper, a big ridge, then the ridge recedes and turns into a narrower stem with a wide base, so it doesn't pop out of your butt. When inserted, you can feel the slight heft of the plug, almost half a pound (7 oz). It's heavy but doesn't let gravity suck it to the floor when you stand up. The size and shape of the Moon Shine make it comfortable for periods of time, but don't sit on it for too long, because it hurts. Really. It does.

This plug is GORGEOUS and the coloring is what initially caught my eye. At the very tip of the plug is a dark crimson swirl that builds up into a dark gold swirl, and this whole design is contained in the first inch or so of the bulbous head. Holding the plug and looking down into the tip from the base (yes, you can do this because it is glass and glass is generally quite translucent), you see a dark red rose pattern and it's just the bee's knees. Crimson and gold is an unexpected color pattern and it grabbed my attention instantly.

Performance

What wows me about Moon Shine is how little I have to warm up for it. I literally just have to warm up the toy, apply just a tiny drop of lube, and we're off. I just lie in bed and grind my hips, sometimes adding a vibe to stimulate my clit, and the rigid, filling plug gets me off every freaking time. It's so HARD and, and, and SMOOTH. Feels good. Like biscuits 'n mustard, mmhmm.

Care and Maintenance

Like mentioned earlier, Pyrex is easy to care for. Soap and water will do just fine, but if you're the sharing type, boil it, bleach it, stick it in the dishwasher and you'll be golden. Don't kick it around, throw it at your pets or significant other(s) or use it as a hockey puck and it will last for many years to come. Hehe. Come.

AND, a major-mega-ultra-plus: Pyrex is compatible with any type of lube you can come up with, anything short of corrosive acid or Drano. I'm not sure if you'd want to use those as lubes, but I thought I'd cover it, just in case.

Packaging

The Moon Shine arrived in a clear plastic bag, and the plug itself was nestled in a lovely black velvet bag. The bag is about 7" long, maybe 3" wide with a drawstring closure and a hot pink satin interior. I freaking love this bag and the plug. The bag is so soft and fuzzy and sexy in a way, and the plug slips right inside. The bag isn't heavily padded so don't put the plug in there and then hit the fucker with a hammer, but in the bag, the plug is nicely protected. I keep it in my undies drawer with another glass dildo, also in a bag, and no damage has befallen either comrade.

Personal comments

I have not used this during intercourse, but I most certainly intend to. It doesn't seem long enough to interfere with vaginal sex for me, though the rigidity may cause a problem. I will follow up this review on my experiences while wearing this plug during vaginal intercourse to give you guys a better idea of its performance.

Experience

I had to warm up the plug before I let it anywhere near my butthole. I decided to drop in between my boobs (there's a LOT of padding there to warm things up) and wait a few minutes. Well, half an hour went by and I remembered I had a butt plug in my tits. It was nice and warm by this point, so I lubed it up and it slid right in. It was almost sucked in. I think my asshole turned into a vacuum because it literally was sucked into my ass. It went in so smoothly with absolutely no friction.

Here I want to share my former butt plug experiences. My first plug was a Doc Johnson sex shop special. I wanted to try out anal play so found a nice blue plug (not sure what it was made of because the packaging didn't specify). It looked like a traffic cone on a stand. It took a long time to get warmed up and slide that thing in my ass, although the widest diameter of THAT plug matches the widest diameter of THIS plug (1 5/8"). Explaining this magic to my boyfriend made his eyes twirl. He thinks some sort of anal sorcery is afoot.

I found myself bent over on my bed, inserting the blue plug, then the glass one, over and over. I couldn't believe they are both the same diameter. The glass one is much shorter and more rigid but feels like fucking HEAVEN when I get it in there and contract my muscles. The big honking blue one took forever and was uncomfortable when I wore it. I have had this plug for over 2 years and had no idea I could be living la vida ass with a glass plug.

I threw the blue plug away.

  • Best way to not hurt?
    • I have tried some of these things before but it has always hurt no matter how much lube we used any suggestions?
    • Lots of warm up as well. Lube and warm up are your two most important things here, so start with smaller toys and work your way larger, and of course keep with the lube. Something else to keep in mind is that you may never be able to comfortably take it, and that is perfectly fine too. We all have our limits :)
    • And it's always good to start with finger-play along with lots of lube first, so your anal opening can be gently stretched with a softer foreign object, before insertion with a real plug :) .

  • Tempture play
    • Can anyone tell me about temp. play? How cold or hot should they be and also what toys are best for temp. play? Any recommendations for me also?
    • Stainless is the best material for temp play with glass coming in second. Stainless keeps the temp longer.

As far as hot goes, test on the inside of your elbow. You don't want to burn your ass. You have to do other things with it, ya know? ;O As far as cold, as long as the temp of the toy in not like 20 deg or lower, have at it. As long as you use some good lube there should be no problems with the toy sticking to you.

I find that cold does not work as good as warm for anal play but it is fun. The ass tends to "clinch" up with cold temps.

      Have fun.:)
    • Dwtim's advice is good. Out temperature play is anti-seasonal. My wife likes the cool temps in the summer and warm in the winter. But we don't do ice - there is enough temp difference between a 70 degree room temp and her 100 degree vuvla to get plenty of chill from the experience. For warm we do use a heating pad - and you've got to be careful not to let it get too hot.

      Good luck.
