Perfect purple plug

This toy is great, we'd buy a second or third in an instant, but this one is holding up quite well for the amount of use it gets. We are now looking for something bigger but just as excellent.
Published: April 1, 2010
Pros:
Silicone, easy to care for/clean, excellent shape.
Cons:
Odd smell, not unpleasant, but apparent.

Use

This plug has been a staple of my girlfriend's and my sex life since it arrived. We find that it is perfect for use during intercourse, as well as long term wear. It is an excellent beginner toy, so long as the anus is properly prepared ahead of time, it's not something a beginner should just jump right onto.

Material / Texture

The texture of this plug is great, wonderfully smooth with a great glittery color. The smell is interesting, it sticks around, but is not unpleasant. It is, however noticeable.

Design / Shape / Size

The size is perfect for beginners, and the shape is excellent for use during intercourse. The base is flared wide enough to fit comfortably for long term wear, and the shape keeps it anchored in place quite well.

Performance

This little plug performs wonders both for use during intercourse and on its own. It fills up my girl's ass so nicely and feels amazing during sex. It works extremely well as a solo toy/anal masturbator, and my girlfriend often wears it for hours at a time with no discomfort.

Care and Maintenance

We usually boil this toy once every 3-4 uses, and wash with soap and water after EVERY use, which is a must with any anal toy. We store it in a plastic bag to prevent it from attracting dust, which seems to stick to it very easily. It is a silicone toy, so do not use silicone lube with it. We use KY jelly with good results (your water-based lube of choice should work fine).

  • Can we get more toys in Copper?
    • The Ryder in Copper is so pretty. I'd love to see more toys offered in this colour. :) Is that likely to happen at all? I haven't seen it on any other listing. Is this colour discontinued?

Yes, it sure has been discontinued. It was weird - Copper was a slow seller, and we got some feedback from retailers that it wasn't at all popular. Then when we discontinued last Spring it got snapped up pretty quickly. I only have closeouts left, but we're hoping that by discontinuing Copper we'll have more time in the production schedule to pursue other colors.
    • Glow in the dark? That's my favorite color! Maybe something black light reactive?

  • Why should you never use silicone on a silicone toy?
    • Why should you never use silicone on a silicone toy?
    • Some, not all silicone lube will 'stick' to silicone material. I have read that some premium silicone lubes will work with some premium silicone materials. You can try some on the base and see, when I last tried it kinda etched the silicone material. (does that make sense) It left a indentation were the lube was.

That's the basics, Some of the other members can give a more technical answer.
    • Some silicone lubes will bond to some silicones. This seems to be more of an issue the softer the silicone is, so toys like O2 and VixSkin will be more susceptible (makes sense, as the silicone has fewer crosslinks). Quality lubes seem to have less of a problem also, and it is likely that cheaper silicones might have more of a problem.

I have tested quality silicone lube on several quality silicone toys and did not notice a permanent problem, but (a) the toys developed "hives" that lasted for a few hours (was gone the next day) and (b) it's really hard to clean the silicone lube off of the toys, but it can be done. While this is purely subjective, but it seemed that the silicone lube wasn't as "lubey" on silicone toys. I don't use silicone lube on silicone toys anymore - it's just not worth the trouble.

  • Is this going to be in stock soon?
    • If you haven't noticed, I've been going over my wishlist (see the O2 discussion) and I've noticed that this plug that I've wanted forever isn't even in stock. Will it be restocked?
    • That's funny. Two of the toys that I want to purchase are out of stock as well. The Vixen Ryder and Johnny. Then I noticed that several Vixen products are out of stock at the moment. I wonder when all of these toys will be restocked.
