Ryder - butt plug by Tantus - review by Naughty Student

The Ryder is a butt plug and is excellently constructed for this purpose. It can be used for males and females equally. It is gender neutral!

There are so many situations in which this toy can be used. It can be enjoyed solo, or with a partner. It can be used to simulate DP or it can help prepare the wearer for anal sex. It is also great for extended wear because of the fabulous base.

It's no wonder why the Ryder is so popular and well loved, it does everything you need it to in terms of anal play and it is made of silicone.

It is made of premium body safe silicone that can be cleaned in such a way that it can be shared between partners.

So it has no smell, no taste and the texture is smooth. It has a sort of glossy finish that grabs the skin when dragged along the arm. It is a somewhat squishy kind of silicone compared to the ace plug royal.

I chose the purple one as it is the traditional color and it is just so gorgeous to look at the swirls in the silicone.

This but plug is probably not for a beginner but I would still recommend it along with a smaller anal toy. Usually beginners tend to move to bigger things quickly so I would make this plug the second step.

The Ryder is a lint/dust/hair magnet so it has to be washed before use everytime.

The shape of this plug is awesome. It is sort of torpedo shaped so once it is fully inserted it locks into place quite smoothly and comfortably.

The base is more flexible than the shaft part of the toy so it makes it quite comfortable to wear for longer periods of time. Personally I don't wear my plugs for longer than 2-3 hours and it has remained quite comfortable.

The size is about 1 inch and 1/2 in diameter. I think that the average user would be quite adept at using this plug and would very much enjoy it. It may be the second plug used after an initial smaller plug for warm up.

It is not a realistic toy and people who see it might not guess its purpose at first unless they know what a butt plug is. Otherwise it sort of looks like an armless and headless little cartoon character, a purple blob of sorts.

I personally think it would be easy to travel with this toy. Even popping it in a purse would work with a small tube of lube.

The base of the toy is perfectly shaped to keep the toy safe and also its is narrow enough to fit between the butt cheeks. This may be compatible with o-ring type of harnesses but I have none and have never tried any so I can't be 100% positive about this statement.

f one wanted to it is possible to hold a vibe to the flat base and the vibrations will transmit well throughout the toy.

Since it is made of awesome silicone, it can be cleaned by boiling it for 3-5 mins, put in the top rack of a dishwasher (no soap), or wiped down with a 10% bleach solution.

For my own personal use I stick to soap and water with the occasional bowl.

This toy is small and easy to store. I keep it with all my other toys in a little toy chest.

Since it is made of silicone it is preferable to avoid using silicone lube since this can deteriorate the product and render it unusable. Waterbased lube is best for this, thick waterbased lube more specifically.

The Ryder comes in a clear plastic box with red writing on it with information on the product material. It's simple and it is fully recyclable. The toy can be easily gift wrapped but its not discreet enough to do something like that.

This plug is just so darn comfortable and smooth.

I use my Encore by happy valley to prepare for the Ryder and once it is in I like to pull it in and out. Used in this way, it is really good for preparing for anal sex.

I would recommend using some other anal toy to prepare for the Ryder as it gets big quick. The tip is not much smaller than the widest point so preparation is always best. Why rush things?

What I love best about this plug is that it stays in during orgasm. I love that it stays put. Putting it in allows me to tend to other things during partner play.
