Very elegant but not for tight spots!
The Sugar is definitely a well-designed toy, but you'll have to decide if the stiff, slick, strange shape was designed for 'you'.Published: August 28, 2010
Pros:
Sleek, modern, silicone design
Cons:
Very stiff, the shape is not for everyone
The Sugar was the first dildo I ever bought to use with my partner. She was very hesitant to insert something in her, so I needed to choose something innocuous. The Sugar fit the bill. She had trouble fitting myself into her, as I'm of the Magnum Condom size and she was quite tight, so I thought the Sugar would be a good size since it's maximum diameter is smaller than mine.
The sugar arrived in a thin frosted plastic box, giving it a subtle, modern presentation. Inside, the dildo sat on it's little clear acrylic stand, nicely cradling the curve of the dildo. Interesting, but pointless I thought. We weren't going to be displaying it on a table after all. The dildo looked bigger in hand than you'd be led to believe by the pictures and dimensions.
Take note that the silicone used for the Sugar is very stiff (high durometer for those of us who feel like getting technical). It flexes at the thinnest section in the rear, but otherwise has practically no give when you press in on it with a finger. The surface is also slicker than other silicone dildos, so it may not be a perfect choice if you like feeling some texture.
The results of it's use with my partner were less than stellar, but not necessarily through the fault of the Sugar. After applying a generous amount of lube I inserted the tip and started a slow and gentle in-and-out motion while rubbing her clit, slowly trying to push in a bit further as I went along. The angled handle section of the Sugar works nicely either when holding it yourself or using on someone else. Although it was quite pleasurable for my partner, the stiffness made her unable to truly relax and get past the widest section in the center. She felt the need to take a break after some use with it.
So after removing it, there I am holding a dildo dripping in sex. Where do I put this thing down without making a mess?! I look around and notice the acrylic cradle. Genius. I quickly change my mind from thinking the stand was pointless, to wondering why other high quality dildos can't include one for such a situation.
Though my partner didn't take very well to the Sugar, I believe it remains a good toy. You'll have to decide for yourself though what kind of insertion sensations you enjoy. Would you enjoy the feeling of something very stiff, but smooth and slippery sliding in and gradually getting thicker, or would you rather stick to softer constant-diameter toys? It's simply a matter of preference.
With a completely smooth silicone surface the Sugar is a breeze to clean, and can be laid on that 'useless' stand to dry.
As a guy, and actually more open to exploring anal fun than my partner was, I did try to use it on myself. The stiff silicone made it difficult to relax on, so although I enjoyed the feeling of sliding in-and-out the first couple inches, there's no way I'd ever get around the wide middle section. Unless you already know you can easily take some girth in your ass, don't expect to be able to easily slide the Sugar all the way in.

Boiling silicone/metal dildos = safe sharing without condoms?
-
If I boil a silicone or metal dildo -- or an anal plug -- would it then be safe to share with my husband without putting a condom on it? Since we are fluid-bonded, I'd hate to waste the money on condoms (they're not cheap!).
Also, if I use a dildo anally and then boil it, would it be safe to use vaginally without a condom? From what I understand, silicone and steel are completely sterilizable with boiling, but I want to be 100% certain first.
Also, can you boil Pyrex glass to sterilize for sharing? I don't yet have any glass toys -- a mistake that I will soon be rectifying! Using both anally and vaginally, as well as sharing, might be fun. -
If you're fluid bonded, I don't see the problem. Why do you need to ultra sterilize it if you're already fluid bonded? Normal cleaning should be fine.. I'm not sure I'm getting the question though maybe.

I'm not sure I'm getting the question though maybe.Normally cleaning would not be good enough since I'm concerned about transferring bacteria (E. Coli) after anal insertion to the vagina or transferring bacteria from partner to partner (not usually a problem during vaginal sex since E. Coli is found in the rectum and digestive tract).
I had thought that boiling was sufficient to kill the bacteria on silicone and metal toys, but I read a couple of reviews on EF where the reviewer recommended using a condom on the toy ANYTIME that toys were shared. But I don't see why using a condom on a toy would be necessary after boiling.
Again, I thought boiling sufficiently killed the bacteria and effectively sterilized the toy to be safe for sharing. I assumed "safe for sharing" meant that, once boiled, no condom would be needed. Just wanted to make doubly certain.

Boiling silicone dildos
-
Married coupleI have the Sugar dildo and i like it very much. I'm using it only vaginally. I know this toy can be boiled to sterilize, should I do that every time I use this silicone dildo? -

But if you are particularly concerned, boil away :) -
It's not necessary to do it every single time, no. I'd say a good scrub with liquid antibacterial soap and warm water, and boiling it maybe every fifth time or so will give you a toy that'll last for years! Remember the water should be at a rolling boil (the bubbles keep the silicone from laying on the very hot bottom of the pot) and you really only need maybe 3 or 4 minutes in the boiling water before it's ok.

Thank you for viewing Sugar drop – dildo sex toy review page!

Another great one! You seem to put a lot of though into the toys you pick for your partner. Sorry this didnt work better though.
Sorry this didn't work out for you.
I sometimes use the plastic inserts from the toy packaging as a tray, but you're right, this is genius. Great review!
Great review, sorry it didn't work well for you though. And excellent use of the word durometer, it's the first time I've ever heard it used outside of my day job LOL
thanks for the review
Great review! Sorry this did not work out for you.
You know, I never thought before about why the base was necessary with this one...but after reading your review I realized we've thought the same thing "where do I put this now?" after using toys! I now do agree that more toys should have cradles!
Another great review! Sorry it wasn't great for you though.
great review!
Wish it worked better, good review anyway though!
Great review, thanks!
Good job.
Great review!
