Not Parallel with the Rest of Eos

Compared to the other eos products I have tried, this one didn't stand up to the five star performance of the others. It's better than others at certain things, but when it comes down to it, the non-foaming formula falls short of giving me the most perfectly smooth shave I desire.

Use

After trying a few EOS products and loving them, I was really surprised with this shave cream. It's just totally not up to par with what I had expected. The creme is barely that and I don't feel it does anymore moisturizing than any other shave cream I've ever tried. It sure as hell doesn't help me get a better shave either. Skintimate does a better job, to be honest. I have mentioned in earlier reviews that I'm pretty OCD about being hairless. My shaving supplies have to be top notch. I require my shaving cream to be able to help me get the closest shave possible the FIRST time through. This "evolution of smooth" claim doesn't hold up. It does smell great, though! However, the heavy fragrance might translate into irritation for some folks.

The shaving cream can be used for any area of the body, and can even be used wet or dry! That is a cool part about it because it turns into a sort of lotion that doesn't need to be washed off. The cream is paraben free and has natural aloe and shea butter. A lot of the scents are geared towards women, but there are a few guys could use as well. It also helps to prevent shaving bumps.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is advertised as a non-foaming cream. I consider a cream to be a really thick lotion. This is more like a regular lotion consistency and thickness. it has a sort of light waxy feel to it, though. It smooths around easily but a lot is needed to be thick enough to really help a close shave, in my opinion. It also comes out slightly grainy feeling at times.

The lavender jasmine is a light lilac color.

Taste / Aroma

This shaving cream comes in a few different fragrances: Pomegranate raspberry, Vanilla, Jasmine / Lavender, Unscented, Cucumber melon, and Island blue.

I chose the Jasmine Lavender. The scent is very strong. I rather enjoy it though. It's soothing and totally smells like lavender with a hint of floral. Even better is that the scent lingers. My boyfriend smelled it when he went down on me later that evening only a few hours after I had showered and shaved.

Don't eat this!

Performance

I'm not overly impressed with this shaving cream. It has good points to it, but in terms of getting a smooth, non-irritating shave, it doesn't do a great job. I really don't like that it doesn't foam up even a little bit. I have to use a lot to feel like there is a good buffer between the blade and my skin.

The pump bottle is easy to use and dispenses a decent amount of the cream. The bottle have grooves for your fingers so it is easy t hold with wet hands. For the amount that comes out I'm able to cover a good amount of area, but it simply isn't thick enough for my liking. When shaving, the cream somehow was able to clog up my razor at times. I never wait more than 2 days to shave, so I know it wasn't because of stubble. When this did not occur, my razor went over the skin smoothly and it didn't cause me to create nicks. However, compared to my usual creams, I had to shave the same area more times to get it baby butt smooth. It didn't cause any burning, but it didn't totally prevent bumps either. It did a fair job of preventing them, though. I don't like to use this on my legs, but it's okay for the bikini and under arms. I did notice that it made things smoother for the skin, but not having as close a shave is what really matters to me in a shave cream. I can add lotion later if needed.

Even though it leaves a little bit of a waxy feel, I still like the option of being able to shave without water. Let's face it, sometimes we miss spots! It would be awesome to have this in a travel size!

So with all things considered, this cream is a 3 for me.

Packaging

The packaging is really sleek and classic. It's also simple without looking cheap. The cream comes in a tall bottle. The very top is a pump and it also screws off. The top pops off as well. I like to keep this off. There's a generous amount too! The bottle contains 7 fluid ounces of shaving cream. The bottle has a really velvety finish to it and the color of the bottle matches the fragrance. So for example, the lavender jasmine is a lilac color. The front and back have two divots for finger placement. The front back and sides have tons of information about the cream from ingredients to highlights of the product.

Follow-up commentary
I have started to like this a little more because I have noticed that it does soften my skin. It still doesn't ease shaving as much as others, though.
