This six ounce candle can be used simply for ambiance, as well as for massage and as a moisturizing lotion. This can be used alone, or with a partner. I received the Vanilla Breeze scent and I love to light it for use as a regular candle, and then if the mood strikes, it's ready to use for a romantic and relaxing erotic massage. You do need to light this candle to use it for a massage or as a moisturizer. I enjoy the scent of a massage candle, I will also swipe a finger across an unlit candle and apply what little comes off on my finger to pulse points as a perfume.

In the container, un-melted, this soy candle feels soft and one can easily press into the wax. Once melted, the wax turns into a pool of thick massage "oil." I think this feels thicker than any other massage candle I have used, though I will admit I've only tried four other brands. I love the warmth of the melted wax on my skin, and it feels soft and slick while it is still liquid. Once it begins to dry out and harden it will feel a bit sticky, but you can add more heated oil to counter this. When thoroughly massaged into the skin, it absorbs nicely and I find there to be no more residue than a nice lotion. Once it dries/absorbs into the skin I don't notice it at all, other than feeling soft and moisturized (and smelling great). The oil that is unused in the tin will harden for future uses.

It is all natural, with the ingredients list being simply soybean oil, coconut oil, hemp seed oil, avocado oil, apricot oil, jojoba oil, vitamin e, and fragrance derived from natural sources.

I find that this candle has a stronger scent in the tin, than it does when burning and in use. That is not to say that it does not fill a room with scent when lit, it does. I have only had the pleasure of using the Vanilla Breeze scent. It is a lovely comforting vanilla. Vanilla (pure) has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, and to calm those who are exposed to the scent. I find this to be true in my own experiences and it is relaxing lie down in a room with this candle lit.

This candle boasts a 60 hour burn time. I have not tested the entire 60 hours, but so far I can see how this could be true if you do not use much for massage. I felt that it took a little long to melt the first time I used it, but perhaps that might have been because I was being impatient. I was eager to begin the massages. Once the wax finally melted, I used the included spoon to dip it out and drizzle it on to my partner. I found that while the wax was not hot enough to burn directly out of the tin, using the spoon helped to cool it just enough that it was more comfortable for someone who might be concerned about the heat. It also makes for a nice sensation having the oil dripped from a spoon rather than applied directly from the hand. Both work just fine, however. It was easy to pour the melted wax/oil into my hand from the tin.

I found that if I only used one spoonful at a time, I needed to reapply quite frequently. The wax would harden a bit and become difficult for me to massage into the skin. If I used more, it was easier to work with. To me, the first time I used this candle, the wax felt sticky and after using it on the back, neck, and arms of my partner, I stopped using it and continued with the massage without it. I was worried it would continue to feel sticky but to my surprise by the time I was finished with the massage the oil had been absorbed and left the skin feeling soft and not at all tacky. This was encouraging and for future uses I was more trusting and used as much as I felt like. When given a massage with this myself, I did not feel sticky after at all. I felt no need to rush to shower and wash this off.

The candle comes in a round black tin. The lid is easy to remove and replace and does not slip off on it's own. I find the tin to be discreet, it looks like a travel candle to me. I actually do plan on taking it on vacation with me because the tin will be so easy to pack.

The label on the front states Tantric, Natural Soy Massage Oil Candle, the scent (in my case, Vanilla Breeze), and that it is 6oz/170g. Near the top you will find the California Exotic Novelties label.

The bottom of the tin states a burn time of 60 hours, as well as suggestions for use (candle, massage oil, or moisturizing lotion). "Pour oil directly onto skin and feel the warmth and rejuvenation as you massage stress away!"

It continues to caution that the tin and contents may be hot. Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" height or less. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. Keep out of reach of children.

Overall I enjoyed this candle. While the stickiness I experienced had me worried at first it proved not to be an issue, and the scent is amazing. I love the tin and I think this is a quality massage candle. I personally enjoy using massage candles greatly, they enhance massage for both the giver and receiver. It is easier for me to massage and be sure to pay enough attention to all areas when I am working the oil into the skin, and I certainly don't mind the extra attention when on the receiving end. The warmth is wonderful and it feels so luxurious to be pampered with a nice massage oil.
