Massage candles are an amazing way to enjoy foreplay with your lover. There is nothing sexier than feeling the curves of your partner's body while giving them an enjoyable massage. Light up the candle and experience the pleasant scent and flickering flame that helps to set the mood. Once the wax is ready, it is time to get hands-on and let the real fun begin.

This is the area in which the product left me feeling disappointed. I had read the reviews of others, which had given me an optimistic outlook on massage candles after my initial skepticism.

When first using the product, I noticed the texture of the Tantric candle was unlike that of a regular candle. It seemed to be more slippery and smooth, which is exactly what I was looking for in this type of product. After the candle had been lit for awhile, the consistency of the oil/wax seemed to become similar to that of a regular candle. When I poured it out, however, I rubbed it between my fingers to get a sense of what I was working with and was not impressed.

In the very beginning, I thought it would be do-able and that I could use it for a nice massage, but it didn't take long for the slippery smoothness to start to dry out and harden. By the time I poured the wax onto my partner and re-lit the candle, I saw the wax had hardened on her back similar to normal candle wax. At this point it was too thick and dry to make any kind of massage out of it. Instead, it just made a mess, and it was a pain to clean off my partner's skin.

I was immediately impressed by the vanilla scent of this product. I am constantly burning candles, and there is nothing I enjoy more than a pleasant smell that is strong enough to be noticed but not so strong as to become overwhelming. If this was simply a normal, everyday candle, I would be totally satisfied with its aroma.

The actual burning time of the candle seems to be reasonable. I do not believe it would meet the 60-hour burn time listed, but it also doesn't disappear right before your eyes.

As for the actual massage element, I was disappointed with how quickly it seemed to dry up once I transferred it onto my partner's body. This is a major product flaw for me because how can you massage with something that dries up and turns back into clumpy wax? Definitely not sexy.

The clean up was frustrating too. It is not something you can simply wipe away. Warm soap and water is crucial for cleaning this up, so make sure you are prepared for the work involved after you have finished all your fun.

Overall, the packaging for the Tantric candle was decent. It doesn't really give any clear directions, although common sense should probably be enough. Regardless, sometimes it is nice to just have the option of more detailed directions available. There was a point in the beginning where I was searching for some information, but I could not find it on the packaging.

The packaging also isn't very discreet. While it looks like a candle, it is branded/labeled with California Exotics and clearly says "Tantric candle" on it. Not a big deal for the most part, but it probably isn't something you would want to leave lying around your living room if you have family or acquaintances over.

I was also disappointed that this particular product did not come with any sort of spoon to scoop out the oil. I actually ended up using my own silverware, which I didn't mind much, but I know some similar products come with a small spoon that can easily be stored in the container. The added convenience would have been appreciated.
