The Hitachi Magic Wand needs to be labeled the mack-daddy of all vibrators AND back massagers! The massager, now dubbed a vibrator is a rocking piece of equipment everyone woman should own.

The Hitachi Magic Wand feels amazing all over the body, including nipples, back, and between the legs. Any area of your body that enjoys a deep vibration will appreciate this vibrator. Not only does provide a spectacular orgasm for me, but also sends my hubby into orgasm heaven.

Material / Texture

The Magic Wand is made of a non-porous, latex free and phthalate free plastic. The head is soft and flexible and does have a slight texture to it.

I did not notice any odor when I opened my package.

The Hitachi Magic Wand is about 12" in length with a head of about 2.5" in diameter. The head (tip) is larger than any vibrator I have ever owned and it does look a bit intimidating at first due to the large size. An extra long handle (about 9") makes it great for solo or partner play.

I am able to use this with ease during solo play in about any position and also able to reach around my partner during cowgirl and doggie style to stimulate his scrotum.

This is not a tiny toy, it's actually pretty large and has some weight to it also. It is not to heavy, but not heavy enough to distract you (specially once you cut it on).

While it looks nothing like a traditional vibrator, hiding this would be fun due to the size. If you think your going to get it by airport security without them thinking you have some kind of weird gadget, think again! This bad boy will show up in the x-ray machine, but the good news is you can easily pass it off as your "back massager".

The Hitachi Magic Wand features two speeds; fast and ultra-fast. The controller is located in the center of the handle and works with the press of the button (up or down). If you are not used to mega vibrations, I'd start off in the lower setting. Or, you can do what I did (the 1st time) and cut the magic lover on high and orgasm in a few seconds.

The Magic Wand puts out massive vibrations! The vibrations are mostly in the head area, with just a slight vibration on the handle.

The Hitachi Magic Wand is not a quiet toy by any means, but not loud enough that the sound can not be muffled. It has a buzz factor of about a 4, but so worth the chance of getting caught! I normally cut my bedroom fan on to muffle the vibrating sounds.

For those of you that use 5 boxes of batteries a week, you'll be pleased to know this amazing piece of sex equipment is electric! No more batteries! While it does plug into the wall, the cord is long enough for you to maneuver around without it getting unplugged. I have used this about daily for the last 3 months and have never had it unplug.

Care and Maintenance

Caring for the Hitachi is fairly easy. It should be cleaned with your favorite toy cleaner before and after each use. The head of the Hitachi can be removed if needed for additional cleaning. If you like your toys extra clean, using a condom will prevent any bacteria growth.

The Hitachi can be used with just about any lube or massage oil. I have used both several times and have just made sure I did not get any near the controller.

It can be stored in the box it comes in, your favorite toy box or in your nightstand (make sure to clean it before each use). The box it arrives in is discrete, so it can be hidden well if placed back into the original box.

The 1st time I used it, I was left with shaking legs and the most intense orgasm I've ever had- In about 30 seconds. No joke! I cut it on the highest setting and amazed myself and how fast I was blown away.

After using it for several weeks I know where it feels the best and I am able to control myself a bit more by focusing more around my clit for a longer period.

I can't say enough good things about the Hitachi! Not only does it do the job between my legs but it makes an excellent massager that delivers deep penetration.

  • Good alternative to Hitachi?
    • I had a rechargeable mini fairy wand, but last week it ended up breaking, and now I'm desperately looking for a similar type wand massager. I've looked at a couple, but I'd really like some input on which massager people are recommending. Thanks!
    • I have 3 wand massagers that I use at times. There are things I love and hate about all of them. The hitachi is the most powerful one, but it is so loud! The Wahl 2 speed is also great. It is the quietest and I love how rumbly the vibes are! But none of the attachments are quite right for me. If I could only have one wand I would get Inspire. It has a button that you press and release when the power is at your desired strength. In stead of just 2 speeds like the hitachi or the wahl you have control over how much power you want to use. The Inspire has a detachable silicone head. My complaints are that it gets hot after about 20 minutes, at at the higher speeds it gets pretty loud. Your toy was rechargable, but the wands I listed all plug in and have more power. Good luck with your replacement!

      Ooh, thanks! Yeah, the rechargeable wands tend to get really hot too, plus it would die after 20-30 minutes, so I needed to stay near an outlet at all times. Noise isn't really an issue for me (at least not right now). The one I had before had an adjustable wheel for vibration intensity, but to be honest, I always turned it all the way up and never changed it, so maybe I don't really need adjustable speeds.

      I've never tried any of the detachable heads. Are they worth buying?

      Probably not for less than fifty dollars. A friend of mine is saving for the Sybian or The Rock Box. I can't speak from experience about either of those vibrators though. However, if you want something similar to the Hitachi, I would suggest either The Wahl or a Fairy Wand. I own the Hitachi, Wahl, and Fairy Mini but highly suggest the Wahl. It is the most rumbly of the three and is nearly silent.

      U had the flexi anal rod prior to the Hitachi..It is strong as well, and it probably right between the hitachi hi and low... I actually prefer the two setting on Hitach..SHIT and OHH SHIT.. The flexi rod has about 4 if i'm not mistaken..Plus it is flexible as well.. Costs about 25.00

      Its on a review of mine already..
