Baby, I'm gonna butter your bread.

One of my favorite lubes that I've found. It's easy to clean up, works fantastically and the tub makes me smile. Go with the biggest container as I regret going with the smaller one.

Use

I've only used this for doodling my noodle. You can use this with silicone toys but I have no experience with that. I can say it's great for launching the hand shuttle even though I actually had mixed feelings about it the first time I used it but I decided to give it a second and maybe an eighth try. ;) I'm very glad that I did. It has moved to being my first choice for lube when I bludgeon the beefsteak.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture reminds me of cream cheese which kind of freaked me out at first for some reason. It was kind of greasy/oily when I first used it but it went away quickly. The main ingredient is vegetable oil so duh it will be greasy/oily. It's easy enough to get a good amount on your fingers and lather up and it's thick enough that you don't really have to worry about spilling anywhere. One thing that caught me off guard was that it wasn't cold to the touch on my fingers but it sure felt cold at first on my noodle.

Taste / Aroma

It smells somewhat chemically to me which I found odd based off the ingredients. The smell is not at all off putting and when using it the smell is not noticeable.

Performance

The product does fairly well for a quick session. I did find that with an extended session I would need to reapply it once or twice because it would dry up a little. The clean up is very simple as you can wash it off with just water if you would like. Also, I did get some on my white sheets and it did not leave a stain. I can't vouch for other colors though and I would assume since it's oil-based that stains wouldn't be that terribly difficult to get out but I can't say for sure.

I've noticed that the product will somewhat separate inside the container and leave an oil/water mixture on top. The only time that I have found this to be a problem is when opening the product you can spill some of that out if you are not careful. I just swirl my finger in it to mix it back up and move on with life. Not a big issue but worth noting to keep an eye out when opening the container. Also, some people have experienced issues with the lid not staying secure and thus some of the product leaks. The lid on my container isn't the tightest but I have had no leaks yet. I can see it becoming an issue the more I open and close the container though.

Packaging

I really like the packaging of Boy Butter. It's humorous to me that they make it look just like a tub of butter. I also liked the fact the guy's arm is muscular. Gee, I wonder how that happened?

@TacoODoom: I'm glad you got a giggle out of it! Smile I would say it lasts at least 20 minutes or so for me before it dries up. I would think it would vary from person to person though. As for the taste, I had zero desire at all to see what it tastes like. If it tastes how it smells then I would say most people wouldn't like the taste of it.

  • Safe for silicone?

    • Based on Dwtim's Lube Compatibility Workshop, oil based lube should be fine with silicone. However, looking at Boy Butter, it contains phenyl trimethicone which I assume is a type of silicone. This may cause a reaction.
