Maximus - lubricant discontinued by Bodywise Limited - review by Tagmstr

Maximus is an outstanding lubricant from Bodywise Limited. This was our first lubricant we tried from this company and without a doubt, we will be purchasing more of their products very soon. This lubricant is water based and can be used with toys for solo and couples play. It is also a great lubricant for anal and vaginal intercourse, as well as giving your man a hand job or even using his favorite masturbator! Maximus quickly became our "go-to" lubricant after only one use, and I'm pretty positive that anyone who decides to try it will feel the same.

Maximus is water based which means it is safe to use with all of your toys regardless of the material they are made of. This lubricant is made up of highly purified water, proplene glycol, cellulose polymer diu sodium edta, phenoxyethanol, methyl paraben, butyl paraben, ethyl paraben, and propyl paraben. My fiance loves this lubricant because none of the ingrediants bothered her lady parts which occasionally happens.

Maximus' consistency is think and gel-like when you pump it out of the bottle. It is not runny at all. Once you start to work it into your partner or toy, Maximus feels incredibly smooth and almost has a silky feel to it. This is one lube that is pleasant to have on your skin. This lubricant doesn't exactly reminded me of the feeling of normal lubricant. It feels more like natural lubricant that a female's body produces.

This lubricant stays where you apply it with no problems if you don't use too much. I think one pump of the bottle or less would be enough to use with any toy or masturbator for quite a while without needing to be reapplied. We always use more lubricant for anal play just to be sure there is no discomfort, so for anal play we like to use two pumps of the bottle. It may be a little too much, but you can never have too much lubricant when it comes to anal. I would not advise using Maximus for shower play as water based lubricants wash away easily with water and trust me, this is one lube you don't want to waste!

After taking these pictures I rubbed the lubricant off on my leg, no need to wash it off as there is no stickiness left behind!

This lube does have a slight plastic smell to it, if you smell it when it is inside it's bottle. Once you apply it to your toy and/or body, there is no smell at all that I could pick up on. My fiance also agreed it did not smell outside of the bottle.

Just for you guys I decided to taste a bit of this. I was pleasantly surprised to find no taste associated with this lubricant. My fiance wanted me to note that it is not as bad as other lubes, when it comes to using a masturbator on your guy and giving oral after. This is one lube she doesn't mind getting in her mouth.

Maximus is only available in one size which happens to be an 8.45 ounce bottle. Some people may be turned off by the $17.99 price tag. Do not let this detour you, this lubricant is well worth it's price. This lubricant exceeded our expectations. The lubricant lasted our entire play session without needing to be reapplied. I personally enjoy using this lubricant with my mastubators, where as my fiance loves Maximus for our anal play adventures. Maximus costs the toy or body part great, and a little goes a long way. My fiance was surprised to find that we needed to use much less Maximus than other brands we have tried. Two pumps of the bottle into the opening of my masturbator was too much lube. The lube was spilling out the top and running down the side of the toy, covering her hand and most of my man parts!
Our main factor in deciding to purchase a lubricant is how sticky does it leave you? This is always a make it or break it factor for us. We like to mess around at night before bed and never want to shower after our adventures. This means we generally look for a lubricant that does not leave a sticky residue on your skin and doesn't necessarily need to be cleaned up. Maximus lived up to this expectation. There was no sticky feeling whatsoever and we did not feel the need to wash up after using it. And trust me, it went all over the place the first time we used it! This being said I think that Maximus would clean up very easily with only a little bit of water and a washcloth. If you really wanted, I'm almost positive soap and water would remove the lubricant easily without much effort.

Maximus arrives in very minimal packaging. As always, it is shipped the standard brown box from Eden. The lube its self is wrapped in a plastic bag to contain the liquid if it happens to spill while shipping. You could keep the bag for further storage, but I chose not to. Maximus' bottle design looks nice enough to leave on our table next to the bed. I would say it is more discreet than other lubricants. It does state this this is a "water-based sensual lubricant" along the bottom of the bottle. That is the only thing that would make this lubricant not as discreet as others.

This bottle could be travel friendly if you use a bit of care as it is easy to push the top down. I could see this lube going all over the place if. I would highly suggest wrapping the lube in a plastic bag to prevent any spillage.

There was no instructions included in the bag with the lube. There really aren't any instructions on the bottle either. But I don't find this to be a negative because if you are buying lubricant you surely know how to use it! The bottle has Maximus in large letters, has a best used by date, and the ingredients.

On a side note, I wanted to add that this bottle is completely see through. Which I really enjoy. There is no shaking the bottle to try guessing how much lubricant is actually left.

There are no special features to this lubricant. It does not create any warming or tingle sensation. This is just your average, everyday lubricant.

Maximus gets 5 stars from my fiance and me, because it is such a great lubricant. If I could give it 100 stars I would! I would highly recommend this product to anybody looking for a top notch water based lube.
