Slippery Fun
Maximus is a great, glycerin free, water based lube that I recommend to everyone, except those who have reactions to parabens. It makes things nice and slick, is easy to apply to toys and genitals and does not need to be reapplied often. Maximus is a wonderful water based lube that makes play with any toy material more fun. I really tend to buy water based lube most of the time because it can be used on my glass, UR3, plastic, and silicone toys without causing any problems. I had to try this one because it has so many great reviews and I am very glad that I finally did!
Maximus lube feels a little like watered down hair gel. Because it is closer to a gel-like consistency, it does not slide off your toy before you get the chance to even it out. With my previous favorite lube I found myself playing the "let me rub this in before it gets every where" game because it was more watery. The consistency of this lube makes things feel more slippery, which I like a lot. Having the right lube can make or break the experience sometimes, and I haven't had a bad experience with this one. A pump or two of this one can go a long way and doesn't usually need to be reapplied unless I go back and forth with a couple toys.
I do not notice a smell when I use this one. However, it does have a slightly bitter taste so I would not recommend it for use when things might end up in your mouth. Maximus is glycerin and L- Argenine free so it should not cause yeast infections in those who are prone to them. Even though I haven't had an issue in the past with different lubes, I try to avoid ones with glycerin just in case. It is NOT paraben free so those who have reactions to parabens should stay away from this one.
It comes in a 8.25 oz bottle with a pump that makes it easy to apply directly to your toys or to put on your fingers and have fun making things slippery. The ability to apply this directly to my toys without having to squeeze a big blob in my hand makes me happy. I like this type of dispenser more than flip top bottles because I find that I make a lot less mess. I have yet to over-pump this one and have it get on my sheets or any other places I might not want it.

Experience
This may be my personal experience, but I find that this lube helps me cut down on my warm up time. I'll admit, sometimes I get a little too excited to try a new toy and want to go charging at it, so I will skip some of my warm up. With my last favorite lube, this didn't always work out for the best, but with Maximus things slide in nicely. In regards to anal, Maximus is great! I have used it with different toys and have not had any issues with insertion.
I am happy that I added this lube to my collection because it has provided me with smoother and more fun toy experiences. Although I have not tested it out for partner sex, I assume it would work well for this as well.

At the moment this one is still my favorite lube! It works well for every use that I have put it up to and the bottle has lasted for a good amount of time (there is still some in the one I used for this review). I had a few moments where using this for anal caused slight burning (I am guessing from the parabens) but nothing that lasted more than 30 seconds. I recommend this to anyone looking for a great, long lasting lube who doesn't have reactions to parabens.

I know most people absolutely love this lube, but when I try to use it, it feels like my genitals are on fire! Could it be due to the parabens? Any thoughts, or any recommendations for another thicker water-based lubricant?

I'm not sure if it's kosher to mention a competitor's product here, but BabeLube is a wonderful water-based lube that's comparable in thickness to Maximus.

Maximus is my go-to lube. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with it.

Is Maximus as Great as The Reviews Say?

Two negative things I've seen written are that it has a bitter aftertaste and it does peel off, dry, and need to be washed off.
Positives and opposites I've heard are that it has a natural tasteless feel similar to saliva, and it is a thicker lubricant. Also the pump looks like a great feature that makes this product less messy.
I would like to try it for myself, and wonder if it is really the go-to lube for me, and for others like me. -
This is my favorite water-based lube, hands down and without a doubt. It's pretty thick (ideal for backdoor fun). I've fallen asleep with it on my hands and don't wake up with fuzzy or sticky palms (until they get wet, then it reactivates).

Does Maximus come in any other size bottles? I feel like 8 oz. would be a lot for me to use before it goes bad. Also, it seems like a big bottle to store somewhere discrete.

It really isn't very big - I have mine it a bedside drawer. Maximus is so thick that you don't have to worry about it leaking unless you really press on the bottle. If my mind isn't playing tricks on me, the bottle is about 2-3/4" in diameter and 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall (including pump), and I think it's closer to 4.5
I think mine's good to 2013 or something (I'm not at home now, but I can check later), so I wouldn't worry about it going bad -
