Maximus - lubricant by Bodywise Limited - review by Midway through

This is quite possibly my favorite lubricant. Let me start off by saying there's a neat trick with Maximus that I haven't found with any other lubricant. If you put it on your fingers, rub them together really well, then wipe them off on something, lick your finger real quick... What happens? It's relubricated and ready to go. That's just fantastical. It works this way in your body as well. I can put a dab on my fingers and rub the inside of my vaginal walls with it and the next day, if I get excited, it relubricates my insides. That's something I can't say about other lubricants. This is a water-based lubricant that is fairly thick considering it is water-based. It can be used for anal and vaginal. It has a very slight taste that is almost bitter, but it is ever so slight. This could however, be a put off to those interested in going down on their partner with this lube on them though.

The ingredients are as follows;
Highly Purified Water, Propylene Glycol Cellulose Polymer, Di Sodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl Paraben, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben.

Note that it is l-arginine free and glycerin free. Which is something that everyone should avoid in lubricants.

This has a very slippery texture and is fairly thick. If you put a drop on your finger, it will not run. It is not sticky or greasy, and when it dries it doesn't feel greasy or sticky either. I actually don't feel the need to wash this off, because it feels rather soft on my skin. It has a liquid velvet feel to it, but has that hint of slippery that I want in a lube. It is the thickest water-based lubricant I have ever seen. It just doesn't run like other lubes do. I feel that it stays where I put it. Now, if I were to glob it on in large amounts, it would indeed run. But you don't need that much lube. This lube goes a long way with just a little bit. You can use it in the shower and it holds up better than other water-based lubes that I've seen.

It does have the slightest hint of a taste. It's a bitter taste, but it is so slight that it's hardly noticeable. It may put people off for oral sex, but I honestly don't think it's bad enough for that. It smells slightly, like a lube would. But you really have to sniff hard and have your face in it, in which case you risk snorting it. (Not a good idea!) So I'm going to say it has no scent, because I can't really smell it unless I'm practically snorting it, and even then it's so light that you can't really smell it. It does not leave a scent on the skin after it dries, nor does it leave a taste. So overall, compared to my previous lube (Pink Water) this is fantastic in the smell and taste category.

This lasts me until I'm done. I haven't had to reapply it during use. I usually go for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and have not had to reapply this lube. That's really saying something for a water-based one, compared to others in the past such as Pink. A little of this goes a long way, and you don't have to wash it off. It is not sticky after drying, nor does it leave that clear thin layer on your skin. You won't be doing the icky lube walk to the bathroom after sex. It comes clean with water easily, you can use soap if you like, but if any of it becomes misplaced on your body, you can rub it in. It leaves skin soft and I do believe it made my skin feel very moisturized as well.

It comes in a clear bottle that has the name and what it is labeled clearly across it. The back has a design of what looks to be Roman columns and a vase that also looks Roman or possibly Egyptian. The pump is a typical pump design and reminds me of my soap dispenser in my bathroom. It is not leaky at all and I have had no problems with it, though I wouldn't go packing it down in something that could trigger the pump. I leave mine sitting out near the bed with the vase part turned forward, so that it is slightly more discreet. Anyway, the bottle comes in plastic wrap and the dispenser has to be unscrewed to begin usage. You can pump this one handed, so if you're really getting into the moment, if it's near the bed it's easy use!

L-Arginine free / Glycerin free

I also consider what I mentioned earlier to be a special feature. If you missed what I mentioned, put the lube on your finger and wipe it off on something. Either your leg or a blanket or towel or something. Now lick your finger and rub it together again. Funny huh? It feels like you lubed up again. I consider that to be a really nifty and fantastical feature. I brag about this lube!

Maximus is my all around lube. I keep it by the bed for any quick use needed. It works great for anal because of its thickness, it's great for vaginal, it's compatible with everything because it is water-based, and oral sex isn't terrible because the aftertaste is so minor that it's not worth noting.
