The slippery stuff of the gods

Frustrations regarding sticky, dried-up lube and the need to reapply go out the window, and there is literally no need for clean-up. Extremely pleasant to the touch, smooth and comfortable: for a natural anal experience, one need look no further then Maximus.

Use

Maximus is an excellent all-purpose lubricant. It has remarkable staying power and a thick nature that makes it perfect for heavy duty use like anal sex, but with ease of application and zero clean-up necessary, I can't see a situation where Maximus would fail. The only issue Maximus has is minor, and unfortunately fairly common to unflavoured lubricants: the taste can be off-putting, and some people might prefer not to use in conjunction with oral sex. That being said, I have not encountered a product better suited to anal penetration: natural feeling, extremely long lasting and easy to use = my favourite product!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

It's hard to make a mess with Maximus. The consistancy reminds me a little bit of hair gel. The lube easily and smoothly spreads over any surface you want, but when left alone, it stays in place and does not run. This makes application very easy, while requiring little "warm-up" time as the lube almost immediately coats whatever you want to lubricate. There is absolutely no unpleasant stickyness, smoothness is the rule here. If you should spill a bit, it dries up on clothes and furniture as a kind of strange solid jelly. It's very easy to clean up- just add water- but it looks a little strange. When Maximus dries up after use on skin it simply seems to disappear. After use one feels almost as if one never put anything on at all.

Taste / Aroma

The smell of Maximus isn't very noticable at all. Taste, however, is pretty much the product's one con- it tastes bad. The hair gel comparison can once again be drawn here, but mostly I try to keep anything that tastes like hair gel away from my mouth. Iit doesn't completely rule out oral sex when Maximus has been applied, but as with pretty much any unflavoured lube, the taste is not a selling point. The taste does not affect Maximus' status as my number one personal lubricant.

Performance

Maximus is the perfect lube for heavy-duty use. The pump-bottle applicator makes it extremely easy to apply, and the strong consistency keeps it where you put it. Maximus seems to last as long as needed, while disappearing soon after finishing. Through changes in position and even breaks in intercourse, I have never had the need to reapply Maximus. One need not even be too generous with it, a little goes a long way. Clean-up is almost not necessary: after use the lube doesnt become tacky or sticky on the skin, but simply seems to disappear when no longer needed. No washing necessary. During use, Maximus is extremely comfortable to use and feels great. Silky smooth, as many other reviewers have noted!

Packaging

Packaging is very simple: pump-bottle applicator is perfect for applying with one hand, lube never gets on the packaging (and consequently on your sheets.) Clear bottle is not flashy but makes it easy to apply with precision. 8.45 fluid ounces of this stuff goes a long way.

    • I know most people absolutely love this lube, but when I try to use it, it feels like my genitals are on fire! Could it be due to the parabens? Any thoughts, or any recommendations for another thicker water-based lubricant?
    • I'm not sure if it's kosher to mention a competitor's product here, but BabeLube is a wonderful water-based lube that's comparable in thickness to Maximus.
    • Maximus is my go-to lube. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with it.

    • Two negative things I've seen written are that it has a bitter aftertaste and it does peel off, dry, and need to be washed off.

      Positives and opposites I've heard are that it has a natural tasteless feel similar to saliva, and it is a thicker lubricant. Also the pump looks like a great feature that makes this product less messy.

      I would like to try it for myself, and wonder if it is really the go-to lube for me, and for others like me.
    • This is my favorite water-based lube, hands down and without a doubt. It's pretty thick (ideal for backdoor fun). I've fallen asleep with it on my hands and don't wake up with fuzzy or sticky palms (until they get wet, then it reactivates).

      Maximus is my go to lube, rarely use anything else. It is slightly bitter but not bothersome. It is thicker and also works very well for anal. I never feel the need to wash it off unless I overdue in the heat of passion.

    • Does Maximus come in any other size bottles? I feel like 8 oz. would be a lot for me to use before it goes bad. Also, it seems like a big bottle to store somewhere discrete.
    • It really isn't very big - I have mine it a bedside drawer. Maximus is so thick that you don't have to worry about it leaking unless you really press on the bottle. If my mind isn't playing tricks on me, the bottle is about 2-3/4" in diameter and 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall (including pump), and I think it's closer to 4.5

      I think mine's good to 2013 or something (I'm not at home now, but I can check later), so I wouldn't worry about it going bad
