Contentment click 'n' charge by Fun Factory

The Delight is high quality, powerful yet not loud and pretty – it would be ideal if orgasms I get from it weren't so similar to those little “hiccups” I had in Junior High.

Use

Delight by Fun Factory is a very stylish dual stimulation toy. It's made of prime-quality materials and its innovative shape has been rewarded with more than one design award. While one end of the S-curve hooks against the G-spot the other makes a handy loop that enables you to rock the main body of the toy against the vulva to provide clitoral stimulation. It vibrates in an array of speeds and pulses from very gentle to deep and thrumming.

It can be used solo as well as with a partner. It provides gentle, continuous stimulation that's ideal for people who like to spend more time building their arousal instead of going for a quick orgasm – that I suppose is one of the reasons why me and my Delight don't make a good duet.

Material / Texture

Delight, as all Fun Factory toys, is made out of body-safe materials: hard thermoplastic and pure silicone. With these materials you don't have to worry about odors or possible adverse reactions (there are only a handful of people allergic to silicone in the world). They are also non-porous which makes for an easy clean-up and allows sharing without a condom if we take a minute to sanitize the toy.

The silicone of the Delight is quite firm. It has a bit of a give that makes penetration more pleasurable – but it can't be called squishy in any way. The toy has the most flexibility in the part of the shaft just after the clitoral bulge. This can make the toy comfortably fit a wider group of women, but unfortunately for me it also decreases the pressure on the G-spot. If you swear by curved glass, metal or acrylic toys and enjoy beating your g-spot into submission this toy might not be enough.

It's hard for me to describe the texture of the silicone – it's frosted but not exactly velvety, doesn't have too much of a drag and works well with even a small amount of lubricant. It feels good, but not amazing. There is a seam running alongside the toy, but it's small enough that I haven't been able to notice it during use.

The plastic part of the Delight is polished smooth and shiny. I recently noticed that it developed shallow scratches on the side I was laying it on. They can only be seen if you look closely. If you're particular about your toys being like new for a long time you might want to always put it on soft surfaces.

Design / Shape / Size

The most unique thing about the Delight – its shape – may also prove its biggest disadvantage if the toy doesn't fit you. The curve was designed to please the majority of women, but as I've said earlier – the shaft has limited movement. My anatomy likes the Delight in a way that it can be inserted and left inside without discomfort – I've even had a quick, unplanned post-orgasm nap with it still inside. However, I'm not sure it fits me as the manufacturers intended it because the bump hits my U-spot (the erectile tissue surrounding the urethral opening) rather than my clitoris, which presses against another part of the toy. This too might be a reason why Delight pleasures me but doesn't quite satisfy.
One of the things I appreciate the most about this toy is that in contrast to most dual-simulation vibrators it's not clunky at all! It's quite light and compact compared to an average rabbit. It's positively dainty. The shape makes it possible for me to use in a sitting position – something I've long given up to with regards to penetrative toys.

That said, the silicone arm of the toy which is approximately 2.5” long still feels deliciously filling. I suppose it's due to the flared shape – the toy gains a quarter of an inch in diameter from the narrowest part just after the bump (1” diameter) to the wider tip. That shape also makes it easy to retain the toy as it gives a bit of a Feeldoe-like effect. This feature can be exploited during partner play as it allows for the toy to be left in place without assistance while using hands for other activities. Just keeping my legs together is enough to combat the gravity for me.

The part of the curve that hits my clitoral glans is flattened a bit and apart from a difference in textures between materials, doesn't have any additional stimulators. It also can't be rubbed against the pubic region very effectively or at least I haven't figured out how to do it.

The loop is designed to allow two fingers through it - I can manage it but it's a tight fit so I usually go with one. My fingers are pretty average in girth.

Despite the fact that this toy is easy to use I wouldn't recommend it to a complete beginner to toys. Investing in such a luxurious toy brings high expectations with it that can be easily dashed if it turns out it doesn't fit you. It's not as versatile as a simple vibrator that can be moved around and applied to various areas . Shop around, find out what you like, then go back and consider the Delight.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Delight is very easy to operate. To turn it on just press the plus button firmly for about two seconds and it starts to vibrate. To intensify the vibration click the plus button again – this time it will switch quicker and you don't have to press that hard. There are 8 levels of vibration – from very, very light to intense. You can also hold the plus button until you achieve desired intensity. When you are at level 8, a longer, harder press of the plus will lead you to pulsing patterns. There are three of them, each faster than the one before. Clicking the minus button takes you back to constant speeds and pressing it for a longer time will leave the toy on the lowest intensity – just one quick press and it's off. The Delight is hard to turn on accidentally which makes it travel-friendly even despite the lack of a locking mechanism.

The vibrations are deep and travel through the whole toy. The motor is probably located near the bulge. Lack of concentration of the vibrations and the fact that they aren't buzzy is probably the most to blame for my mediocre results with this toy. The vibrations can travel up my hand up to my elbow then I'm gripping the area where the motor is most likely located – you can't deny that toy power – but pressing an almost flat surface to my clitoral hood and glans does little for it.

The lower levels of vibration are really quiet - so quiet that I can get off with another person in the room without her knowing, if only she has something that keeps her attention. The higher levels of vibration are louder but not disproportionately considering their intensity.

Sadly the Delight is not waterproof. It can withstand a little splashing when it's washed but shouldn't be submerged. Shame, since it would make a great bathtub toy.

The toy is powered by an inbuilt rechargeable battery that is said to last for 500 charging cycles. Since one cycle allows for approximately an hour on the highest setting you can imagine how many orgasms that is! With no additional costs apart from your electricity bill.

Charging the Delight is really easy. The only things you need is the universal Click’n’charge charger, an outlet and a surface to lay the toy on where it won't be jostled. Plug the charger into the outlet and place the magnet over the charging port of the toy. The red light will appear. When it turns off the toy is charged. Disconnect the charger from the toy and the outlet. Remember to do a 6-hour charge before first use! I recommend reading instructions that come with the charger and the toy.

Care and Maintenance

Apart from regularly charging the toy (you shouldn't leave it alone for more than three months since draining the battery completely is bad for it) the Delight requires little attention. It should be stored apart from other soft toys, as lesser materials might want to bond with the silicone – I use a simple lint-free pouch. You can also keep it in the original packaging.

The manufacturer recommends using a water-based lubricant as oil-based are not the best for the vagina and silicone based can in turn harm the toy.

To clean the Delight use soap and water or sprinkle it with a toy cleaner. If you want to sanitize the toy you can also swipe it with a cotton pad with rubbing alcohol, let it evaporate and then rinse off the remaining alcohol. That information is based on the cleaning instructions I got from the menstrual cup community when one of the users contacted a medical silicone expert.

If you plan on sharing the Delight or inserting it anally you can also put a condom over it. That way clean-up would be faster.

Packaging

Fun Factory packaging is lovely – that's not news. It consists of a cardboard box with a display window and a tray for the toy. Inside there is an instruction manual, an advertisement for more Fun Factory products, a sample of Toy Fluid “a water-based lube” and of course the toy. The Click’n’charge charger is packaged separately in a smaller cardboard box not unlike those for phone chargers, with its own instruction manual. The packaging is tasteful and pleasant to look at. However, I think it has one flaw: the instruction is written with a really small black font on a gray background. I had no problem reading it, but others might find it difficult.
    • Good for storage
    • Very informative
    • Would make a nice gift

Personal comments

I've had a lot of dual-purpose vibrators in my toy-collecting career. While they are made to be used one way – stimulation of the clitoris happens after they are inserted – I usually try to find a way to have clitoral-only orgasm using them. With rabbits it's easy – you just put the ears against the clitoral area. It's even easier with a soft, squishy toy like the Butterfly Kiss – the shaft can be bent out of the way if you don't want penetration. With my Delight I use the tip of the shaft to stimulate my clitoral glans – because this gives me much more freedom of movement those orgasms have been by far the best I achieved with this toy.

Experience

When I first got my Delight I was exploring a new forum for people with my fetish. As it's not hard to guess, this led to me being insanely turned on for hours while I sat in front of my laptop. Because of my living arrangements I couldn't read and watch the porn on my bed. I had to be at my desk. This is where the Delight saved me – it provided easy stimulation and all I had to do is slouch a little and insert it. Then I turned it to a second level, teased myself and when I was ready I turned it as loud as I dared (my sister usually sits on the other side of the room) and frantically rocked it against my pubic mound. The only thing that spoiled the fun was the strength of my orgasms. They were disproportionately, surprisingly and disappointingly weak. Even taking the Delight to bed and taking time changed nothing. I only had one orgasm I would consider “moderate” for me while using this toy the “right” way.

I think that my disappointment with the Delight was mostly caused by the way I like to stimulate my clitoris which is impossible to achieve with this toy. I like movement, friction and a bit of localized pressure. The part that provides clitoral stimulation is too smooth and too wide for me. The vibrations diffuse in every direction instead of focusing. On one hand the rigidness of the toy prevents me from creating a rubbing motion I like. On the other, the slight flexibility of the shaft takes hard-core g-spotting out of reach.
Follow-up commentary
I decided to use the Delight as a clitoral vibe more often as opposed to inserting it and the "orgasm rating" has certainly gone up. The tip of the silicone arm is just wide enough to provide stimulation that is not too pin-point but not too diffused either. Combine this with the fact that my body decided to lengthen all my orgasms (why now?) and I'm a happy girl.

I also spent more time exploring the three patterns. The first is too slow to work for me but the other two feel amazing.

Considering many times I used this toy in the last months, there has been surprisingly little charging involved. I'd like to attribute that to the wonders of German engineering (and not the fact that I'm a "one minute wonder"). I've spent years using rechargeable batteries and didn't suspect that a rechargeable toy might be even easier to manage. But it is - since the battery's buit-in I can't misplace it.

I stand by my 4 stars - but my "buyer's remorse" got lost after the first month.
