Loud & clumsy but does its job

You get what you pay for with this one. While it has a lot of power, it has a lot of noise. It's bulky, heavy, and stiff. It's not the worst toy in the world, but it's definitely not the best. It's good for those on a tight budget, but if you can afford better, get the more expensive toy.

Use

This toy is a monster! I only used it externally when I tried it, so I don't know how it will work internally, but externally it was enjoyable. The texture was fun to rub against my clit. It's a bit too bulky for precision work, so rubbing it across your bits seems to work better than trying to just use the tip for clit stimulation. The vibration seems to be strongest near the middle to bottom of it, so that, too, takes away from it being a more precise toy. It's got a multi-speed dial, so you can adjust how much stimulation it provides. It has a lot of of "oomf" when you put it on full blast. The only problem with that is with great power comes great noise! I kept the paper damper inside of it and it did help reduce the noise of batteries rattling around, but the motor itself is still pretty noisy. It does not seem to be waterproof, so if you're naturally super wet it might not be the best toy to use. And it definitely does not seem safe for use anywhere wet like the bath or shower... (Stick to the bedroom or any other dry area.)

Material / Texture

It has a soft, velvety feel to it and the petal texture is reasonably pronounced. It's made of plastic and when I took it out of the packaging, it had no smell at all. The texture is fun to rub your clit against and the material doesn't pose any allergy issues. I do not recommend this for beginners. The textures are probably too abrasive for new users and the size might be overwhelming.

Design / Shape / Size

This is your standard style vibrator. It's tall, thick, and not bendy at all, so g-spot stimulation might be one nightmare of a challenge with this one. It's also very heavy due to the C-cell batteries it requires. The color is a nice coral pink, but the flowers on the texture are kind of ugly. They remind me of mutant uteri, ovaries, and Fallopian tubes. At least the swirly stems are kind of pretty...

This thing is MASSIVE. It's 7" long and a good 1.5"-2" thick. It is definitely NOT one that I'd want to travel with. It's just way too huge to be able to be hidden. This one's best left in a drawer near the bed.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations are located mid to lower shaft. The multi-speed dial turns easily enough, but you have to hold the toy with one hand or pinch it between your legs so the toy itself doesn't twist around while you're trying to change the speed. Make sure you have lots of alone time to use it because there's no way you'd be able to turn it off fast enough should someone come home unexpectedly while you're using it.

The noise on this thing was crazy. Even with the paper damper in, it still was really loud. I kept my legs pinched around it while I used it so as to not wake the other person in the house, but I was still kind of paranoid that he'd hear it. I experimented with it without the paper damper in it, but the batteries rattle around in it too much to go without.

Despite the bulk and noise, it does a darn good job of tickling my pleasure button. It's got a lot of strength to the motor, so those who need lots of oomf to climax could get the job done easily enough with this one.

Care and Maintenance

I didn't get this toy dirty at all when I used it, so I'm not sure how hard it is to clean. The plastic part makes me think it'd be easy, but the texture looks like it would be hard to get clean... And because you can't submerge it to scrub it really good, it could pose some problems in the long run. If you're going to be inserting this toy into your nethers, you may wish to invest in some toy condoms for it so you don't have to worry about goo getting stuck in all the little crevices of the texture.

Packaging

I got my Petals Vibe as a "free" gift for signing up for the newsletter. (I had to pay $5 for S&H.) When it arrived, it didn't have a factory issue box. Instead, it came in a clear plastic "pillow" box with the Eden Fantasys logos all over it. There was no paper with dimensions or instructions with it. Just a big pink vibrator in a clear box that, when unfolded on both ends, folds as flat as a sheet of paper. I normally like to keep the original packaging for my toys, but that clear box was too big to fit in my toy drawer, so my vibrator has to go in without.

Personal comments

So far, I don't mind this one. It's powerful so it gets the job done, but it's too noisy to use when others are around. I think I will use my smaller, quieter one at night and save this one for when I have the house to myself.

Experience

This toy gets a shaky thumbs up from me. I enjoyed the textures and force, but that noise is scary. I will use it again and try it internally next time to see how it works on the inner bits. But for now, it's a decent toy to rub around the fun button when I need some sexual release.
Follow-up commentary
So, I decided to give my Petals Vibe another go today, this time trying a little internal play along with external. All I can say is WOW! When positioned right, it can rattle your hip bone and send shivers throughout your whole body! The texture provided some interesting feelings, too. The texture did make it a little tough to extract when I was done, however. It was a snug fit to begin with and then when the muscles clamped down on it, it was actually somewhat painful to remove! (At least the pain happened AFTER I was done, not during or before!)

Clean up has been interesting. I did an initial wipe down with a tissue to get the majority of the fluids off of it, but I still need to go find a brush to scrub out the little nooks and crannies in the flower designs.

Despite the noise, cleaning issues, and the removal discomfort, I actually am starting to like this a little more than I originally did. It's still not the best toy in the box, but it still isn't the worst, either.
