It's basically like poking your vagina with a branch...a loud branch. Have you ever wanted to give yourself a good vaginal scraping? Have you ever wanted every neighbor within 500 feet of your home to know when you are masturbating? I didn't think so. Pleasure petals came free with my order, and quite frankly, I'm not even sure it was worth one star for that.

Pros
4 Vrooms.
Cons
LOUD. Rough. Too straight. Hard to clean. Not waterproof.
The best use for the pleasure petals vibrators is probably to scare away burglars since the amount of noise that it makes is similar to a helicopter landing. On the chance that you have neighbors and don't want every single one of them to know that you're using a vibrator, this vibrator is not for you. Pleasure petals could also probably be used as a weight of sorts since it's rather heavy with those giant C batteries in it. Finally, pleasure petals is a fantastic reminder to use protection since the flowers on the side of it strongly resemble a crab-like specimen. I suppose this also provides a comic relief of sorts.
Let's say that after all of its flaws, you actually still want to use the pleasure petals (mine came free with my order). This vibrator is basically a straight-up vibrator...not good for nipple stimulation, not especially accurate at clitoral stimulation, and not safe for anal penetration. It's also not a thruster unless the vibrations are turned off because otherwise the batteries rattle around, and it gets even louder (if that's possible). Another reviewer was smart enough to leave the paper in the battery compartment to help with the rattling, but since I tossed mine, I can't say how much this helps. Basically, if you want to use its vibration and the paper trick doesn't work for you, you just have to have kind of cautious penetration (yes, that's as bad as it sounds). Then again, the texture would probably slow you down even if the sound didn't.
While this toy is plastic, it does have a nicer velvet-like texture with the exception of the "petals." The petals are a little rough for my liking, and some reviewers have even found them to be painful. If you are only slightly uncomfortable with them, lubricant may help. Plastic is an 8 on the safety scale and is non-porous and phthalate-free. Still, this item cannot be sterilized, so a condom is recommended for sharing. With the texture however, I'm unsure of how well a condom would hold up if you go for the super loud thrusting. There was no smell upon immediate removal of the toy from its packaging nor a taste. As a last comment, I would say that this texture is definitely not meant for beginners as it is relatively intense.
This is a very average vibrator in terms of size and shape with the only difference being the rather intense texture. When running your hand across the texture, it doesn't seem very intimidating, but it is easily felt internally. Pleasure petals does have a decent insertable length. I also enjoy the size in comparison to "slim" products. Pleasure petals does feel slightly heavy with the large C batteries inserted. Some might find the weight to be a pro. Eden's listed measurements are as follows:
On the product page, pleasure petals was described as pink, but I agree with others that it is more of a coral or salmon color and much prettier than a typical pink. I will say that I'm not as happy that the dial base of this toy is a whitish/clear plastic. It actually makes the toy look a little cheap, and it stands out quite a bit.
So, the dial base on this means that the intensity of the vibration changes, but there is actually only one type of vibration. I usually need the full 4 vrooms to orgasm, but due to the noise of this toy, I could not crank this baby all the way up without the neighbors evacuating the building. I do notice that the vibrations are stronger in the base, and I wish they traveled throughout the tip better.
This toy is NOT waterproof, which is a big con for me. Anything with this much texture on it to clean should be waterproof to allow for a thorough cleaning! I have run it under water a few times while cleaning and found that it's basically splash-proof, though I'm not particularly worried about ruining this dud anyway.
Some more cons: There is no way to turn the toy off with a simple touch or hold of the switch, so on the off chance that someone returns home, they'll hear this toy before you ever get it turned off. After all, this toy is the noisiest toy that I have ever owned! Pleasure petals also takes C batteries, which aren't common around most households, so you will be buying batteries just for this toy. It does kill these batteries quickly as well.
Water, oil, and silicone lubricants are compatible though water-based may be the easiest to clean off afterwards since this item is not waterproof and a cleaner or wipe is your best option. Pleasure petals is not easy to care for since it does have quite a bit of texture and can't be submerged.
On the other hand, plastic is kind of nice because you don't have to worry about breaking it, and it isn't porous to harbor all kinds of bacteria. I am currently storing Pleasure Petals in a drawer with several other items with no worries. Honestly, if you're using this toy, maintenance is the least of your worries.
This item came with basically no packaging...just a plastic sleeve from Eden. I don't necessarily find it to be useful in every day storage and was maybe even a bit disappointed by the lack of creativity/functionality. I know that Eden shares the toy's compatibility and the rest of the information online, but when I receive a new toy, I always appreciate a guide of some sort with it. I wouldn't have even considered gifting this toy as the lack of packaging could make it come across as a second hand toy.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it14 days after original review
OUCH! The first time I tried pleasure petals, I must have had natural lubrication as well as a healthy dose of lubricant. The second time I tried it, I ended up with a "business" injury. I would say pleasure petals is way too hard for the texture it packs, but I've since received glass toys (such as the Rainbow Heart) with plenty of texture that didn't make my vagina dry up like the Sahara Desert. That being said, this type of texture may just be too detailed with too many ridges and grooves for comfortable use. I won't be using mine again. Sometimes things are free with certain promotions for a reason!
