Sexy Jelly Belly

Ah, Lelo has come out with another fine product from their Picobong line! The AKO is a multi-use, multi function toy that packs a punch. The controls allow the user to control the intensity of every pattern. Lelo has got a winner here!

Use

Lelo is definitely doing something right with the PicoBong Ako! Designed as a clitoral stimulator, the Ako has a dozen amazing settings that can be adjusted to any intensity you desire. It is guaranteed to heighten your orgasmic experience. Use it during solo time or with a partner during foreplay. The Ako is also small enough to stimulate the clitoris during a variety of positions with ease. And it comes with a little PicoBong keychain/tag to boot! How can you say no to that?

The Ako can be used internally in addition to stimulating external erogenous zones, such as the nipples, breasts, or perineum. The Ako has a slight curve at the tip, which could provide firm G-spot stimulation to ladies with shallow G-spots. If privacy is an issue, the Ako is there for you. This toy has a good locking system in addition to a watertight ring to ensure a worry-free shower experience. If you manage to get some time to yourself, the Ako is discreet and a great, affordable option to those who live with others or in a dorm.

The Ako is a great gift for beginners. It is not intimidating and has a variety of controls and uses. It is a great, mid grade toy. It is not too large or cumbersome in any dimension. More advanced users might find this toy uneventful, especially if they have higher grade clitoral stimulators at their disposal. It is strong and quiet though, two things everyone likes.

The Ako is not designed nor intended for Anal play. It lacks a flared base, is smooth, and isn't too large. In essence, it screams emergency room more than most toys.

Material / Texture

The silicone on the Ako is lusciously smooth. There are no bumps or twists on this toy. The only texture could be the "PicoBong" logo on the side of the toy. It is a shallow indent and I personally can't feel it. There is little to no drag. If you want, you can add a drop of lube to get the silky glide you desire. The texture (or lack of) is very beginner friendly. Texture-philes will probably yawn at the Ako. If you want a clitoral stimulator that has some texture, I suggest the Bliss Massager (which has textured rings on the clitoral pad). The smoothness makes it a little harder to capture the clitoris and keep it in place, but not to the point it detracts from the toy.

Being silicone, the Ako is non-porous, body safe and hypoallergenic. It is one of the best materials you can have for a toy. There are multiple kinds of silicone, but I am impressed with the quality of the silicone on the Ako. It doesn't have a stickiness or film on it and is pleasing to touch. The bottom of the Ako is plastic. The plastic is ribbed, but I think this is more to keep a grip on the toy during use. There is no overt odor or taste to the Ako. The Ako rates as an 8 on the safety scale.

The Ako is firm. It will stay where you direct it. The Ako won't bend and abandon your clitoris in its time of need. It is also good for those who want to use the Ako for G-spot stimulation. Since the Ako is on the smaller side, it may be cumbersome to use the toy for G-spotting. And since it is smaller, only ladies with shallower G-spots will be able to get stimulation this way.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Ako is sleek, cute, and orgasmic. Designed primarily as a clitoral stimulator, the Ako is on the small side. It measures at 4 3/4 inches long and has an insertable length of a little over 3 inches. While not large, the Ako can still stimulate the entrance and lower part of the vagina (It's the end with the most nerve endings) This will not be ideal for those who like more length during play and prefer thrusting with their toys. There's not much to hold on to if you use it for that purpose. The overall shape of the Ako is designed for masturbating the clitoris. It has a slight curve to make it easier to hold during masturbation (and potential G-spotting).

Here is the Ako compared to some other toys and a pencil.

From left to right: Ako, Luxe rejuvenate (also awesome), Sex in the shower vibe, silicone bunny.

The Ako's size makes it a great candidate for travel. It'll easily fit in a purse, bag, or even a cargo pants pocket (just make sure it zips or has velcro). Overall, the Ako is for beginners and college students who want a good toy with good vibes for a reasonable price. It's nothing new if you own a MiMi, We-Vibe product or something similar. If the Ako was made rechargeable and had more substantial packaging, I think it would have a place among those toys.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Pico Ako has 3 buttons: +, M, and -

Press the + button for a couple of seconds to turn the toy on. I find the controls on this toy very user friendly. You are able to control the strength of every pattern by pressing and holding the + or - to the desired intensity. I feel this is a more tailored experience since set patterns on toys sometimes have a set Vroom as well. Press and hold the M button for a second to change the pattern. There are a DOZEN different patterns sure to please! Here are the patterns:

1. Steady Vibration
2. Slower Pulses
3. Medium Paced Pulses
4. Faster Pulses
5. Really Fast Pulses
6. Accelerating/rollar coaster
7. Faster rollar coaster
8. Decelerates then accelerates
9. A Faster Number 8
10. Pulses in sets of 3
11. A faster Number 10
12. Paired pulses

If you turn the Ako off, it will always turn on on the first pattern. To turn off, just hold the - button for a couple of seconds. The Ako will weaken then turn off. The Ako is a strong little guy and ranges from 1 to a solid 4 Vrooms. The vibrations are more rumbly than buzzy and do travel. If you put this vibe in your hand on high, you can feel the vibrations through your entire hand. For being that strong, the Ako is on the quiet, discreet side. At its highest intensity, the AKO is about 2 Bees. If you throw a blanket over and close the door you shouldn't be heard.

The Ako is also waterproof! It has what appears to be a silicone ring (or a rubber/plastic ring the same color as the toy) at the battery cage to ensure a snug, watertight fit. It might take an extra couple of seconds to screw the cap back on, but it's worth it. To secure the batteries, you have to press the cap down and turn.

The plastic has little tracks that let you turn and lock the cap onto the Ako. I have submerged my Ako because I was curious to see how watertight the seal was. My Ako works just fine. The product page states it is fully waterproof up to a meter. Thus, the Ako is more than capable to deal with orgasmic needs during shower time! The Ako takes 2 AAA batteries and they seem to last well.

Care and Maintenance

Care for the Ako is a breeze. You can use wet wipes, toy cleaner or good ole soap and water. While silicone, the Ako should not be boiled because it has electrical components. There are not many places for debris to collect on the toy, it's pretty streamline. If you use the Ako for insertion, debris could accumulate where the Picobong logo is on the side of the toy. Debris or lubricant could also get in the ridges on the plastic cap at the bottom.

Once dry, the Ako can go wherever your general sex toy storage is. Since it is silicone, it's best to store it either with other silicone toys or wrapped in your storage. Other materials, such as Jelly or TPE, can both contaminate your toy and mess with the silicone coating itself). If storing for long periods of time, it is best to remove the batteries between uses.

Because the Ako is made of mostly silicone, silicone based lubricants should not be used. If you must, you can do a test spot on the Ako with a small amount of your favorite silicone lube. I still wouldn't though, the silicone is lovely.

Packaging

The Ako comes in pretty standard packaging. It comes in paper/cardboard box with a clear plastic front with the toy on display, like so (it's not discreet!):

The box is nothing special, nor is it designed for long term use. It would be nice if more companies would include pouches or sleeves for their toys! If you're giving the Ako as a gift, it would be best to include a little pouch or sleeve for long term storage.

Instructions are included in the packaging, and in a couple of different languages as well. It includes information on care and maintenance of the toy and more. There is also a little PicoBong charm that loops through the bottom of the Ako. It reminds me of a cell phone charm or the wrist cord you put on your camera.

Personal comments

I'm thrilled to see some more great quality toys that are both affordable and have great colors! I know color shouldn't be the only thing you think of when buying a toy, but It sure does influence me! The Ako is a great addition to the PicoBong line.

Experience

I know this is insignificant, but I actually find my little PicoBong keychain/charm cute! It's a nice little flair to the toy. It's probably just perfect advertising for my generation (the generations that likes to customize and accessorize everything)but I think it's a nice touch.

I think I've favored the Ako for two reasons: I like that it's turquoise and I love the controls. I sometimes get upset when I like a particular pattern on a toy but wished it was either less or more intense. With the Ako I can adjust the strength of any of the patterns. I wish more toys came with that amount of control for the user.
Follow-up commentary
I still like the Ako. It's not my go-to toy, but I still keep it in my favorites toy box. It's a cute, affordable and has some great strength and patterns. It's also a pretty, pretty color. I wish more toys were this cute!

Nice review. This sounded great until I got to the part about the batteries. Meh. Rechargeable would have been the way to go.
