Plug of introductory lust

This is a really great choice if you're a complete anal novice; the price, plus the material alone made it worth it for me. Plus, the tapered tip and ring makes for really easy use, even if you don't know what you're doing. It will probably be too small if you have a lot of experience with anal play, but it's a great intro for the rest of us.

Pros:
Silicone, easy to clean, great for beginners, tapered, smooth, ring for removal, cheap
Cons:
Probably too small for anyone with a lot of anal experience

Use

This toy is really designed for anal play. The tapered tip makes it easy to insert, the flared base stops it from disappearing, and the ring on the base means it's easy to remove. You could use this vaginally if you really wanted to, I guess, but I don't think it would work all that well.

Because of the small size, this is really a toy for people new to anal. I think anyone else would just find it really underwhelming; it's thin and short. It's a great choice if you want to start experimenting with anal though!

Material / Texture

The plug is made of silicone, which is awesome because silicone is super safe and non-porous. Plus, it can be boiled to get rid of bacteria. Awesome! The material was a deciding factor for me, because so many small plugs are made of less classy material. Remember to only use water-based lubricants with silicone toys.

The texture is smooth but grabby, the kind of silicone that picks up lint. There is a slight seam down either side, but it's not pronounced, and I couldn't feel it at all during use. It's a pretty firm toy; it does squish slightly if you squeeze it, and it is bendable at the thinner places.

There's a slight silicone smell if you hold it up to your nose, but it isn't noticeable at all.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

This is a small anal toy. It worked really well for me because it was my first anal toy, and I didn't want something intimidating or overwhelming. The insertable portion is about 2 1/2" long, and the width tapers from 1/3" at the tip, to 1" across at the widest part, back down to 1/2", and the flared base is 1 1/4". I really liked how it tapers because it meant it was easy to insert gradually. The tip is fairly blunt; also good, as it means I won't stab myself accidentally.

It has a ring at the end for easy removal, which I liked.

There's no way this is going to be a satisfying toy for anyone who's really experienced with anal play, it's just too small. If you're new or wary of anal toys, this one should be easy to use, without being too scary.

This toy isn't really discreet, or is it? It depends if people know what plugs look like; you might be able to pass it off as something else. But it's white and smooth, maybe you could say it was some artsy designer thing.

Performance

This toy does what it's designed to do really well. It's a great intro anal toy, giving enough sensation to be worth it without being overwhelming. It's easy to remove and insert, even for a total novice like me. The ring also means it's easy to move while inserted, which gives some nice additional stimulation.

I only used this toy solo, and it was much less awkward than I thought it would be. I was expecting to have some difficulties figuring out how to use it effectively, but everything went smoothly and comfortably.

It isn't suction or harness compatible as far as I know, as I think the ring would get in the way if you tried to use it in a harness.
    • Comfortable
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

This plug is just a smooth hunk of silicone, so it's super easy to clean. It can be boiled if you want, which will get rid of bacteria easily, or it's very easy to clean with soap and water. There aren't any crevices for dirt to hide in. The only spot to watch out for is where the handle attaches to the body, but that's not really a challenge.

It's so small that storage isn't an issue; just tuck it in a drawer somewhere.

And remember, it's silicone, so use water based lubes only!
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging is not at all discreet. There's a picture of a naked woman, and "Plug der Lust" is written at the top, plus this little gem is written at the bottom: "The restrainer for you tight lust chamber!" Which is its own kind of special.

The packaging can't be used for storage, since it's just plastic with a paper insert. I made a little cotton bag for storing it in, which works pretty well.

That is very inexpensive for a pure silicone toy. I guess it's size helps with the cost. So you have moved on to larger anal toys? Thanks for the review.

  • Mirror, mirror on the wall . . . who is the smallest, least intimidating butt plug of them all?
    • I am completely new to anal play. Well, at least I am almost completely new: I have been attempting to get started for a couple of weeks now since my husband has expressed interest in trying anal sex.

Sadly, however, I have had a difficult time using what many reviewers have deemed as the perfect beginner's butt plug. It seems as though I need something even smaller than the following, all of which I have tried and find either very difficult to insert and/or too uncomfortable to wear for even a short period of time (and, yes, I do use a thick anal lube and try to insert gently and slowly):

Tantus Little Flirt (seems too long for my comfort)

Tantus Ripple (the last bead is too thick in diameter and it also is too long for me to fully insert comfortably)

FunFactory Bootie (the bulged head makes it very painful to insert, even going slowly and gently, and I find it too filling to wear comfortably for long, once it is in)

I am very sad that I am not "progressing" in anal play. Are there any smaller butt plugs out there to help me ease into using -- and hopefully even enjoying -- my *beginner* plugs so that I can eventually work up to trying anal sex?

Ironically, my husband has also just started to experiment with anal play to massage his prostate and he has even been able to use our Nexus G-rider with no problem. I don't understand why I am still stuck at the *pre-beginner* stage!

Thanks for any advice! I appreciate it.

Oh, I forgot to ask if the small Plug of Lust should be easier to use than the Tantus Little Flirt, Tantus Small Ripple, and FunFactory Bootie! Any other suggestions would be most appreciated, too.
    • At that price, the Plug of Lust is tough to beat. If price is not an object, then I might go for the Fun Factory Bootie instead because I think the base is better for long term wear. Another consideration if price were no object would be the Bob pleasure object.
