Spicky Little Purr
This is a wonderful little pain toy. It does really pump out pain but it doesn't leave any damage from use, not even red marks. It is good for beginners or vets of the kink world.Published: January 21, 2011
Pros:
sharp, good weight
Cons:
not for people that don't like pain
When I was first being trained as a domme, I was introduced to the Wartenberg Pinwheel. I had it on my skin for the first time and I loved the feeling back then. But I loved the reactions that I got from subs when I would use it even more.
So I have been looking for any pinwheel that was like the one that wonderful domme that trained me had. But I haven't been able to find one that was like it for a long time. Most of them haven't had that bite that my first one had. The spikes would just feel like ball point pens over the skin and not much more.
After years of looking for the one that I have been wanting, I found it here.
The Wartenberg Pinwheel looks like a little kinky version of a kids pinwheel. The wheel is about an inch in diameter and the spikes look like they are about a centimeter each. There are 18 spikes that are very sharp. But the spikes aren't sharp enough to cut the skin. It's only under seven inches long and it's got some heft to it, more heft than it would look like.
It is a pain toy and when used on someone, it can release endorphins into the body adding to a scene. But, it's on the lighter end of pain. It won't cause any real damage to the skin. Just little red marks on the skin that will hold for a second, then it's gone.
The pain that it dishes out is sharp, but it does dissipate very fast. Yes, I did test it out on myself before having a scene with one of my subs and using it on him.
Do not use too much force with this pinwheel or it could do some real damage to the skin. Keep it clean if you have multiple submissives.
This is the the perfect little toy for sensation play.

I would have to say that I don't know what I would do without my Wartenberg Pinwheel when it comes to kink now. It's one of the most wonderful little toys to work a blindfolded sub over with.

Writing my review made me wonder -- has anyone had rust issues with the pinwheel sold here?
-
Interesting question. Since it's chrome plaited steel, I would assume it could possibly rust because chrome does oxidize over time.

Quote: Writing my review made me wonder -- has anyone had rust issues with the pinwheel sold here? Can't say that I have had rust issues - it's made of chrome-plated brass from what I've observed. My #1 problem with my wheels (regardless of source) is that you're pretty much on your own to find a suitable sheath - they will poke through many materials, and I've had at least one that poked through something and bent the tines.
That one does not get used in play.

Wartenberg Pinwheel: Any On The Way?
-
I'm literally aching to snag one of the Wartenberg Pinwheels link but they're sold out and I'd like to know when they'll be back, or maybe if theres one stray floating about the inventory from the move... I don't like the Fetish Fantasies one, it looks so cheap and less intense (a bad thing for me).
Does any of the warehouse people know if there's anymore of these buggers lying around? I just want 1! :( -
I'll let the product manager know about this. Thanks for asking.

Hello ShadowKitten! The pinwheels are currently on order and we are hoping to have them available by the end of the week, so just hold on and they will be in soon.

Wartenberg Pinwheel

I'm curious to see if anyone's tried using a sewing tracing wheel as a less-intense alternative, or first step to using a Wartenberg pinwheel?
-
why would you want a less intense toy. The wheel is not all that bad.
-
The Wartenberg pinwheel is only as intense as you want it to be. If you lightly trace it over the skin, it isn't at all prickly, but the harder you press, the more intense it becomes.

Finally! The Pinwheel!
-
I was uber excited to see that the Wartenberg pinwheel will soon become available at Eden, but does nayone have any more info about it? Will toys from the Stockroom soon be available here? This totally makes my day!
Thanks :D -
I was definitely excited too, cannot wait to get it!
-
I'm super excited too and can't wait to buy one. Finally all of us squeaky wheels got our wish ;)
I think we're only carrying like one or two things from Stockroom.
I asked Maxim, our Product Manager, to hop in here and let us know when these will be in stock and all that jazz.

Thank you for viewing Wartenberg pinwheel – sex toy review page!

I've been curious about experimenting with this. Nice review!
It's a fun tool. I'll be doing a review on it in the coming days as well.
Yay, pinwheels! I adore using them on my pet...using it on freshly flogged skin while he is blindfolded *really* intensifies the sensations. *grin*
Good review!
Thanks for the review. It is in my wishlist already.
Thanks for the review!
Nice review!
The spikes can actually pierce the skin with pressure. But I'm glad you're enjoying the pinwheel, it is a favorite of mine also. It leaves beautiful railroad tracks on subs who enjoy blood play.
Mid: i have never had it break the skin when I have used it. but good to know that it can.
Very helpful, thank you. Reading these reviews has really piqued my interest
