The Evil Pizza Cutter
Are you a sharp and pointies admirer? Sensation lovers will want this toy in their arsenal as it brings a fun, spiky twist to sensation play.Published: September 1, 2010
Pros:
High quality, versatile and easy to use.
Cons:
Nothing, absolutely nothing.
I love sharp and pointy play and anyone who’s perused this blog knows I like needle play. There’s another essential toy for the kinky toy box that I totally recommend … the Wartenburg Wheel or as I affectionately call mine, the Evil Pizza Cutter, not that I’ve tried it on pizza. It’s perfect for a medical scene or sensation play and is a versatile wee toy. It can be unbearable or tantalizing depending on the driver of the wheel. Being bound and helpless and having this little guy running all over your body parts can drive you wild.
It’s also known as the Wartenburg Pinwheel or the Wartenburg Neurowheel because in actuality it is a medical device designed for neurological use by a Dr Robert Wartenburg to test nerve responses on the skin. It’s stainless steel, roughly seven inches in length and at one end has a small wheel about 30mm in diameter sporting twenty two 5mm spikes. It’s packed with sensory delights, from light tickling pressure to firmer, more intense painful sensations. It has a tingly sensation that tickles and the pins are pointy enough to create an intense sensation but unless you use extreme pressure the spikes will not pierce the skin. For added sensations you can use icy cold water or hot water and incorporate temperature play and to heighten the sensations combine with a blindfold.
I love the anticipation the Wartenburg Wheel gives me when waiting for the sadist to roll it across my skin. When blindfolded switch it between a blunt knife blade and the wheel and make the submissive guess which one you are using, if they get it wrong well, you decide the consequences.
You can use it over more sensitive areas like nipples and even around the labia and clitoris for a little fear/trust play. If you are really devious you can adapt it to work with a TENS unit for electrical play to heighten the sensations of the pins on the skin but do your homework first, Google is your friend.
It comes packaged in a simple vinyl sleeve but if you want something more sturdy and something that will protect it a little better use a funky toothbrush container or something similar. To clean you can use hot soapy water but make sure you towel dry it straight away as it can rust if you don’t care for it well. The wheel turns extremely easily but if for any reason it doesn’t a little WD40 will fix the problem. You can also sterilize it in an autoclave or a bleach solution but again make sure it is completely dry after cleaning. Because there is a risk that skin can be pierced make sure you keep it sterilized or keep it as a one person toy.
This is one toy that everyone should have in their arsenal.
I freekin love mine!

This wee toy never gets old when it comes to sensation play and I still love it when this little spiky wheel comes out to play. The sensations are fantastic, still well worth the money and an exquisite piece that will last for a long time.

Writing my review made me wonder -- has anyone had rust issues with the pinwheel sold here?
-
Interesting question. Since it's chrome plaited steel, I would assume it could possibly rust because chrome does oxidize over time.

Quote: Writing my review made me wonder -- has anyone had rust issues with the pinwheel sold here? Can't say that I have had rust issues - it's made of chrome-plated brass from what I've observed. My #1 problem with my wheels (regardless of source) is that you're pretty much on your own to find a suitable sheath - they will poke through many materials, and I've had at least one that poked through something and bent the tines.
That one does not get used in play.

Wartenberg Pinwheel: Any On The Way?
-
I'm literally aching to snag one of the Wartenberg Pinwheels link but they're sold out and I'd like to know when they'll be back, or maybe if theres one stray floating about the inventory from the move... I don't like the Fetish Fantasies one, it looks so cheap and less intense (a bad thing for me).
Does any of the warehouse people know if there's anymore of these buggers lying around? I just want 1! :( -
I'll let the product manager know about this. Thanks for asking.
-
Hello ShadowKitten! The pinwheels are currently on order and we are hoping to have them available by the end of the week, so just hold on and they will be in soon.

I'm curious to see if anyone's tried using a sewing tracing wheel as a less-intense alternative, or first step to using a Wartenberg pinwheel?
-
why would you want a less intense toy. The wheel is not all that bad.
-
The Wartenberg pinwheel is only as intense as you want it to be. If you lightly trace it over the skin, it isn't at all prickly, but the harder you press, the more intense it becomes.

Finally! The Pinwheel!
-
I was uber excited to see that the Wartenberg pinwheel will soon become available at Eden, but does nayone have any more info about it? Will toys from the Stockroom soon be available here? This totally makes my day!
Thanks :D -
I was definitely excited too, cannot wait to get it!
-
I'm super excited too and can't wait to buy one. Finally all of us squeaky wheels got our wish ;)
I think we're only carrying like one or two things from Stockroom.
I asked Maxim, our Product Manager, to hop in here and let us know when these will be in stock and all that jazz.
