Definitely the Star of my collection

This is my favorite dildo, and I am not usually a fan of toys that don't vibrate. Lone Star is great as a masturbation tool, works great in a harness, and is anal safe. The material is amazing and I am going to make sure that I fill my toy boxes with many more VixSkin products.

Use

For use as a solo playmate Lone Star is a wonderful addition to any role play fantasies that you may have. The realistic look and feel can easily turn this dildo into your favorite movie star and/or cute guy from your local coffee shop. Because of the balls and ridge along the bottom of the toy this makes for great anal and harness play. Since the tip of the head is very plushy I think it would be unlikely to hurt yourself by thrusting too hard. Adding a vibrating cock ring to Lone Star can turn him into a make-shift rabbit style toy.

I found the balls to be more versatile than I would have expected. Thanks to my husband I learned that the straight shaft can comfortably be rotated so that the balls are against my clit. The stiffness of said balls combined with the texture of them provides nice clitoral stimulation. You can also use your favorite clitoral vibrator in conjunction with Lone Star for some very nice blended orgasms.

Material / Texture

The material is unlike anything I have ever owned. It is soft and squishy with a pronounced stiff inner core. Lone Star mimics a real penis in just about every way possible. Bendable but not floppy, soft but sturdy, and vein texture that goes pretty much unnoticed when in use.

There is a 'stickyness' to the material but it's not tacky-like. Meaning, when you squeeze Lone Star in your hand and let go it feels very similar to grabbing a penis covered in lube and letting go. It makes a sound but it is by no means similar to grabbing a penis with bubble gum wrapped around it.

I adore the texture of this dildo! The veining, the subtle wrinkles, the attention to detail is amazing and I have not seen or owned another item like this. All the visible texture is just that, visible. None of the veins or wrinkles provide any extra stimulation.

Because of the girth I wouldn't recommend Lone Star to a beginner unless you have a partner with similar dimensions already and know you enjoy the size. With the outer 'skin' being soft and plushy it doesn't hurt to insert but you will definitely feel filled with this inside.

Design / Shape / Size

I originally purchased Lone Star because its dimensions were so close to my husbands and I wanted something that reminded me of him when he was out of town. With a shaft this realistic it isn't difficult to become hooked.

Vixskin warms to the body quickly and maitains that warmth as long as your play session lasts. For a realistic sensation from the start you can run Lone Star under warm water until the desired temperature is reached. Made of silicone, this toy will withstand boiling temperatures so be mindful to test the temp of your toy before insertion.

The balls are wonderfully textured though they are much thicker and do not mimic the soft, flexible feeling of real ones. They make for a great base if you want to use Lone Star for anal play. The balls and ridge are also perfect for harness use. I have read that Lone Star tends to be a little large for most harness rings, however I own the Corsette Harness by Sportsheets and find that the larger ring (2")is a snug but do-able fit.

On a technical note, Lone Star is 7" long with six of those inches being insertable. It is just under 2" in diameter; a useful measurement to have if you would like to use it in a harness.

Performance

The tip of the head is very squishy as the inner core doesn't start until midway into the head. This allows the dildo to be inserted a little easier as it allows the toy to mold to your opening. If the entire toy was that soft I think inserting thrusting would be very difficult. Since there is a solid silicone inner core, thrusting and grinding is very comfortable and realistic.

Harness use can be tricky with a toy as large as this. I find that a 2" ring works best. If you have a smaller ring you could try some lube and see if the outer skin will squish enough to allow it to slip through. I enjoy using my harness compatible toys not only with a partner but also strapped to various items to make my solo play more exciting.
Anal play is also a treat if you enjoy a larger toy. Lone Star has a rigid base that has a lip approximately 1/2" wide. The balls, though detailed, are comfortable and make for additional anal safety. The bottom of Lone Star is completely smooth and feels comfortable to grip whether you or a partner is in control. The smooth bottom also allows for superior comfort when pressed against your body if you have an open harness.

Care and Maintenance

According to the EF material information "VixSkin boasts the superior hygienic qualities of silicone while retaining the realistic look and feel of cyberskin." Like other silicone toys, this is a non-porous material and can be sterilized by boiling it for three minutes. Because this has no motor or moving parts, you can put this in the dishwasher on the top shelf to clean it. I personally prefer to use my favorite toy cleaner and let it air dry before storing it in a hypo-allergenic bag. Only water based lubricants are suggested for use with this wonderful guy.

Packaging

This magnificent piece arrived in a very simple plastic blister pack that was not even molded to the toy shape. For the quality of the item I really would have expected more care be taken to store and ship it. There didn't seem to be any damage to the dildo and minimal packaging is nice if you don't plan to use it for storage.

      It was much firmer than the Bandit or Goodfella I have... almost to the point I wondered if the outer layer was just regular Vixen silicone. The outer layer of Bandit and Goodfella is very soft/pliable, but not even close to the case with Lone Star

      I returned it due to it being so unpleasantly firm. So I'm still left wondering if I'd like Lone Star, but I'm hesitant to order it again and possibly end up with the same scenario.
    • I have Johnny and Lone Star and Lone Star was just a tiny bit firmer than Johnny. It still feels very realistic and is soft enough for me to use regularly without any problems. Sorry to hear that you returned Lone Star :( Lone Star is also a bit larger than both of the toys you mentioned so that may also make him feel a little firmer.
