Amethyst - sex toy by SSA Glass - review by BBW Talks Toys

I have been anxious to try glass for some time now. What a treat for my first piece! The Amethyst is made by SSA Glass. It is bent to offer optimal g-spot stimulation. It can be used as a dual-ended dildo and offers intense texture with the "bubbles" that act as the handle. The Amethyst can also be used anally for p-spot stimulation since it is bent so deeply and has a distinct handle, but we didn't use it that way. This one is mine! No sharing!

This dildo is best used for someone who likes firm pressure on their g-spot. This is a solid piece of glass, and as such, is unyielding. If you like something that flexes or doesn't offer direct, firm pressure to your g-spot, this is not the piece for you. However, you could use it on the textured end and have the bubbles glide across your g-spot if yours is more pronounced when erect.

This dildo is also excellent for temperature play. Just a note that the inside of your body is very warm and you will warm it up quickly. With that in mind, cold or warm, this dildo will stimulate you a lot.

MMMMMMM... Glass! The Amethyst is a solid piece of Pyrex glass. This is a nice feature because, Heaven FORBID, you were to drop this beautiful piece, it will not shatter, but rather break into solid chunks. Please be sure to inspect your glass toys before use for chips or cracks.

Glass is very firm. It has no smell or taste. The Amethyst is very smooth. Even though there are "bubbles" or ridges on the handle, they are still very smooth. There are no seams to worry about. The texture may be too intense for new users to glass, but the g-spot end I found to be very lovely during my first few ventures into glass.

If you are a beginner to glass, I would stick with the g-spot end of the dildo until you were certain you wanted more texture. From what I've read from other glass lovers, advanced users will love both the deep curve and the bubbled texture.

This is a beautiful piece of glass. I have absolutely no complaints about it thus far. It is well-crafted. It is not very girthy at all. I loved the deep curve of the Amethyst. It appears, in the pictures, to have a (roughly) 45 degree curve, but it is much deeper than that. The length of the curved end is nice because, at least for me, once I insert it and curve it directly onto my g-spot, the handle basically rests up my slit and sticks up about an inch above the top of my pussy. As a BBW, this is so very nice because, many times, I feel as though I'm reaching too far for my toy. This toy is just in reach and makes it easy for me to use it on myself. This was handy for guiding My Mister as well.

It is important to note that beginners in glass should beware of thrusting too deeply or too hard with any glass dildo. It is very easy to bruise your cervix. What I found to be very nice about the shape of this dildo is that since the curve is so pronounced, it doesn't go that far back into the vaginal canal and it is harder to bruise yourself. This is not the case of the textured side. Please use caution when using the textured side of the dildo. It is straighter and has more insertable length.

I did measure this toy. Other users have found variances with the specs page, so I'm taking the liberty to include my own measurements. The specs page has this listed as 7.25 inches, and it's true, if you measure the inside of the dildo; but measuring along the outside and along the side of the dildo, it is in fact 8.25 inches long. On the curved end, the circumference of the head is about 3 inches and it has an insertable length of 4.5 inches. The handle, which can also be used for penetration, does have a circumference of about 4 inches.

It does have a phallic shape on the curved side, but I would not consider it realistic at all. This is also not a discreet toy. I think only the most innocent would not know what this is or what it is for.

The best part of this dildo is that it is curved perfectly for my g-spot. It did not require much thrusting, or even movement, for me to stimulate my g-spot.

Since this has no motor, it makes no sound above whatever sloshing sounds it makes in your wet pussy. That makes this super-discreet in regards to noise and is a nice benefit for anyone who has roommates or thin walls.

Glass is one of the best materials out there if body safety is important for you. For the basic care, you simply just wash it with antibacterial soap or toy cleaner. You can also sterilize this if you are sharing or switching orifices. You can use a 10% bleach solution. You can boil it. You can run it through the dishwasher without soap. Since it is non-porous, if the soporific effect of sex takes over, you can leave it to clean until you wake up as it will not absorb any fluids. If you decide to switch orifices during a single play session, please cover it with a condom during anal play so it can be removed when you switch to vaginal play.

The only con to glass is that it can break, so it is not indestructible. If you are looking for something that is virtually indestructible, you may want to try stainless steel.

You can store this in the pouch provided, or purchase a more padded pouch to protect your toy.

This beautiful piece arrived at my door in a nice red velvet pouch. The entire thing was wrapped in plastic before it was packaged in the shipping box. If you want to further protect this toy, you could store invest in a padded pouch, but I am keeping it in the pouch it came with as it is my only one. There was no information about the product in the packaging.

The experience. Oh! The experience. I've used this toy many times since I received this toy. It is, by far, my most loved piece now. I do use it with a vibrator on my clit because I still am unable to orgasm with only g-spot stimulation. The firm pressure it puts on my g-spot combined with the vibrations on my clit is pure ecstasy for me.

I have tried both ends of this toy. For me, the curved end is much nicer than the textured end. It does feel nice, but after a while it is a little much for me. It also doesn't stimulate my g-spot as much as curved end. I like to rub the handle against my clit to get me warmed up.

As far as temperature play, our bedroom is always very cold, so I didn't need to put it in cold water to use this for cold play. It was my first foray into cold temp play, as I generally do not like feeling cold; however, it did make my PC floor muscles clench up which was nice when my Amethyst hit my g-spot. I much prefer this toy warmed up. We put it under hot running water for about 5 minutes and it was so nice and warm, it felt like a massage! The warm temps helped with penetration and actually made me more wet! It also made me want to further my experimentation into hot temperature play.
