First Glass

The Amethyst is a fantastically simple glass dildo, it is just perfect for vaginal use and G-spot stimulation.

This is also a great toy for temperature play as glass holds temperature fantastically well; the dildo is able to stay cool (or warm) for quite a while after the initial temperature exposure. However, do be careful not to go too extreme since it is possible to overcool (or overheat) the toy, so, please use common sense when you're taking this route.

This toy could be used in anal play. Yet, I would be extremely cautious as the bubbled handle does not seem sufficiently flared to prevent accidents.

As always, use caution with glass toys as they are extremely rigid; glass toys can cause painful bruising if they come into contact with the cervix during thrusting.

The Amethyst is my first glass toy and I must say that it is absolutely lovely. It is super smooth and super slick when wet, making insertion a breeze. Its weight is good as well; it's just heavy enough to give you a substantial feel, but without being a chore. It's also an aesthetically pleasing toy that has a beautiful, intense color. When I unwrapped it, I just kind of held it and played with it (not that way!) for a while. It's very nice!

Since glass holds temperature well, I find this dildo to be quite a bit of fun during the hot summer nights; I like to briefly run it under cold tap water to make the toy pleasantly cool to the touch. However, if temperature play is not your cup of tea, you can simply hold it in your hands for a couple minutes to warm it up with your body heat.

As one can imagine, glass is quite rigid and is great for when you just want to go to town. That said, beginners may want to be careful not to be too enthusiastic while using this toy, as you may risk bruising something that you don't want bruised!

Lastly, the bubbled end of this dildo has a very interesting texture that I find to be fun and stimulating, but it's probably not enough to provide an orgasm on its own. Your mileage may vary, though!

This dildo is simply pretty, with a lovely curve and a wonderful, cobalt blue color.

The Amethyst is sold as a G-spot stimulator and, boy-howdy, does it work! The curve is just right and the slight bulb on its end did a great job of providing firm, gentle stimulation while the design makes it easy and comfortable to keep a grip on. The "bubbled" end is great to use as a handle because while the glass gets a bit slick during playtime, the texture of the bubbles helps you keep your grasp. Another perk is the fact that the "handle" acts as a good gauge of when to STOP thrusting, preventing that oh-so-uncomfortable cervical bruising. It's a very good design!

In the past, I have had difficulty with the length and girth of other toys I've purchased. On the contrary, I find the Amethyst to be absolutely perfect in this regard. This dildo is thick enough to fill you up, but not too girthy to make you feel uncomfortable. It is long enough for you to hit all the right places without worrying about hitting anything else. The Amethyst is a great first dildo and perfect for those who are overwhelmed or intimidated by the size of other toys. This dildo may also be a good option for someone looking to introduce sex toys to their male partner for some sexy fun; its smaller size and unrealistic appearance probably won't spook the partner.

Regardless of its artistic flair, this toy will probably not be able to pass as anything else but a dildo. Therefore, unless you are comfortable with letting people know about that facet of your life, you should probably keep the Amethyst safely stored away at home.

What fun! This glass dildo allows for smooth, rapid thrusting (no friction burns here!) while it provides firm, consistent pressure on the G-spot. This toy is absolutely discreet in terms of sound because there is none. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this dildo!

This dildo is made of borosilicate glass, the same glass material used to make laboratory glassware and Pyrex products; borosilicate glass is quite durable when used in these applications.

Glass is a very safe material which is hypoallergenic and completely nonporous. For basic cleaning, you can wash the Amethyst with antibacterial soap and warm water. It's super easy! If you want to sanitize your glass toy, you can submerge it in a pot of water at a full, rolling boil for at least five minutes, run it through the dishwasher (top rack, without soap), or clean it with antibacterial toy cleaners or wipes.

Glass also has absolutely no limitations when it comes to lube compatibility: silicone-, water-, and oil-based ... this sucker can take it all. Or, you can put a condom over it and use it that way.

There are, however, some special considerations when it comes to glass toys:
- If you have dropped this toy, you must very carefully examine it for small chips or cracks as they can cause damage to your internal tissues and also provide a foothold for microorganisms. The glass this toy is made of is supposed to break in large pieces if it breaks at all, but nothing is guaranteed. You should NEVER use a chipped/cracked glass toy!
- This toy should be stored in the bag it came with to prevent scratches. Again, minor abrasions on the toy's surface can cause big problems when they're introduced to your tender bits.
- Do not instantly move this toy from a very cold to a very hot environment, as this may cause the glass to crack and break (it won't shatter into shards like untreated glass).

The toy came in a nice little fabric pouch which I would recommend continuing to use for storage purposes.
