The first impression you get when you take it out is the size. It has 9.5 inches of insertable length and it accurately measures 2.5 inches in diameter. On that note, stay away from greasy or oily lubricants such as petroleum jelly an such. They will harm UR3. You will also find a belows pump in the box filled with a powder. This must be applied over the surface of the toy for storage as it will become tacky to the touch. I strongly recommend avoiding any material which can bleed color when using this item. UR3 is very porous and can stain easily as well as retain bacteria. The use of a condom is also recommended if the toy is to be shared.

The John Holmes UR3 has a molded suction cup for hands free play but, when it comes to choosing a place to stick it to you have to take into consideration the size and weight. The best surfaces are those that are totally smooth such as glass, acrylic or lexan/polycarbonate. The shower wall doesn't work very well due to the water and gravity.
