Magnum - dildo by Fun Factory - review by Sam (aka Jul!a)

The Magnum is an excellent dildo for anybody who likes their toys just about the perfect amount of filling. It's made of silicone, can be used vaginally or anally, is o-ring compatible making it great for use in a harness, and the shape of the head does a decent job at G-spot stimulation. There's almost nothing this dildo can't do for you.

Magnum is made of a very nice silicone from FunFactory. Being silicone not only means that it's non-porous and phthalates free, but also that it's a bit of a lint magnet. Not as horrible as some I've seen, but enough that you'll want to rinse him off before use sometimes. There's no smell or taste to him either. While He's sturdily built and fairly dense, he's also very flexible. He's very smooth, but does have some drag to him as well so you'll definitely want to make sure you use lube.

Magnum is a big boy standing a proud 8" tall, with the base only taking up about an inch, leaving a very nice 7" that you can insert. He has a head shaped roughly like that on a real penis, complete with ever so slight taper. His head is about 5" around, and right after the ridge of the head the shaft drops down to about 4 1/2" around. The base has an interesting shape, almost clover like with 3 petals to it. The base measures 3" across in any direction making Magnum completely safe for anal use and also providing a nice grabbing point, not being too big or too small to hold.

While the color is in no way realistic, the vaguely realistic head and curve make it pretty obvious that this is a dildo, so store accordingly. He's not too big to travel with if you've got a pouch for him.

A note on the colors, mine is the black and white swirled pattern, and the pattern is really something else, very unique. It's also available in solid print now.

Vaginally I was very happy with Magnum. His girth was enough to be comfortably pleasing without feeling like I was being split in two. The firm head did provide some G-spot stimulation, but more because it's so big around that I'd be surprise if it didn't hit the G-spot at all. The base was comfortable for me to hold onto myself, and also comfortable for my husband to hold onto when using on me. Neither of us have tried this one anally, but I have comfortably worn it in a harness as a test.

Silicone this nice is easy to care for. You can wash with warm soapy water, boil it for 10 minutes, wipe it down with a bleach solution, or even run it through the dishwasher on the top rack. You'll want to avoid using silicone lube without doing a patch test first, but you can just dive on in with a waterbased lube. You can use the original packaging for storage if you want, but you'd probably be better off with a plastic bag or a toy pouch.

The packaging is nice because it's laid back and doesn't have a whole bunch of pictures of half naked women or anything. There are windows that show Magnum in his plastic shell. Underneath the toy at the bottom, there's a pamphlet from FunFactory that has cleaning information, another pamphlet that talks about their silicone toys, and a sample of their waterbased lube Toyfluid. While you can use the packaging for storage, the outer cardboard shell won't hold up to much abuse.

I'm always nervous about trying dildos because I'm such a sucker for vibrations, but I really enjoy using Magnum. He's about as big as I can just insert without warmup, but I do have to be in the right mood for him. His shaft is about the same size as my husband's, so I think that's why, although the head size and the length have made me a little nervous about trying him anally yet. I really like that he's firm enough to really let you know he's there but not so rigid that you spend the whole time gingerly moving him around to avoid pain.

Overall I believe that Magnum would be a great addition to any collection for anybody who enjoys dildos.
