The Amethyst is a double dildo, where both sides can be used for vaginal stimulation. The arched tip has a pronounced curve that works very well for massaging and finding the exact location of the g-spot. The bubbled end, which works as the handle of the curved side, is amazing against the g-spot without having to know exactly where it is. Since the toy is made of glass, the pressure applied on that little pleasure spot can be easily controlled to reach satisfaction. Even if it not meant for anal play, if one is careful and has a firm grip on the bubbled end, the curved tip would definitely be good for prostate or regular anal stimulation.

The Amethyst is made of borosilicate glass, which is non-porous, hypoallergenic, non-toxic, latex-free and phthalate-free. Like glass, it does not have any smell, and it is hard and sleeky smooth.

The curved tip is slender, which can be great for someone who likes thin toys or for the person who likes to pinpoint the g-spot. As for the bubbled side, the texture of the first three bubbles is not that pronounced and it is suitable for women who find regular textures too stimulating. A glass toy is a one of a kind experience, and with the very soft curves of the Amethyst, it is possible to apply more or less pressure at the right spots without causing anything but pleasure. Even if the size may look a little small for the sex toys veterans, the rigid material will make up for it. The design looks simple, but it works very well.

The total length used by this non-realistic glass marvel is 7 1/2" (direct length without following the curve), where 3 1/2" of that is taken by the bubbled side, and 4" for the curved one. The bubble side has a diameter of 1 1/8" at the first bubble, and 1 1/4" at the others. At the curved side, the diameter at the tip is 1 1/8" as well and 3/4" for the shaft.

This is an amazing toy, and whether you need general or specific stimulation, you will not be disappointed. If you tried before to find your g-spot, but only managed to have a general idea of where it was or just had a slight g-spot stimulation, the Amethyst is designed to find it easily. Not only can it find the g-spot, but it's also quite possible to find out that you can squirt, or ejaculate, with this. The bumpy section works best with slow thrusts and by letting the shape of the toy do the work. While more control is required for the curved tip, the pleasure obtained is worth it.

Both sides, even if they are different in shape are comfortable as handles for solo play. However, the bubbled side is slightly more practical when it is held by someone else, and the curved side needs some adjusting to find a good way for holding it. Since this is made of glass, make sure to let your partner know of any discomfort if she or he is controlling the toy.

Glass can be washed with mild antibacterial soap or dish-washing liquid and water. Make sure that you have a firm grip on your toy while washing it, because it becomes especially slippery.

Glass can also be sanitized, by washing it with a 10% bleach and 90% water solution, by placing it on the top rack of the dishwasher or by boiling. However, if the toy is boiled, I would recommend placing a towel underneath the toy in the container and to place the toy while the water is still warm and to let it in the water to let it cool down. It may take a while, but here again, it would protect the toy from the stress of a quick temperature change.

It does not take a lot of lubricant to insert this toy and all lube types are compatible with glass, whether it is water-based or silicone-based.

The Amethyst comes within this toy pouch wrapped in a plastic bag. There is no instructions other than the information tag of the pouch itself. Mine came in the black pouch, but it is quite possible that it would come in a purple one. Without making a complete review of the pouch itself, it is sufficient for the regular storage and protection of a glass toy inside the home. For traveling, I'd rather use a more padded pouch, like the Pleasure pouch.

Note that while this design looks identical to that of the Bent Graduate, it does not exactly have the same measurements since the curved section of the Bent is 3" long. The bubbled side is pretty much the same, but the curved section of the Amethyst is longer and the tip is slightly larger as well.

While this difference may not be significant for g-spot play other than having a longer handle, it could be noticed for prostate massaging. The G-spot Pink is similar in size as the Amethyst, but it does not have the same shape at the fourth bubble. So make sure to use the 'View actual product size' option while considering one of those toys.

The first time I looked at this toy, it was at the light of day, and I was awed by the beautiful color. The second time I wanted to get another look at it, it was at night, and I was surprised to see that it had become completely gray and colorless. It would not make sense for a glass toy for the color to leak and fade away, and I was puzzled for a little while. The next day, I took it out at noon again, and the color was as bright as the previous day. So, here is what happened: I use compact fluorescent lamps in my home for energy savings, and that's what gives the impression that the toy is gray if there is no natural or normal lighting around.

If you'll be using this toy where there is only CFL, you might want to reconsider buying this purple toy, since you might not get to admire that neat color as often as you'd like. This does not occur with the pink coloring.
