Hitting the Spot

The LAYASpot is a great clitoral/external vibrator for those who do not like the traditional "stick" vibes or want something more "body friendly." If you have the money to spend, the LAYASpot might be the right vibe for you!

Use

Plain and simple, this is an external, clitoral vibrator. However, it works nicely for gentle stimulation of the breasts, nipples, the anal area and also is (from what I am told!) well-received by the male genitalia as well. As a clitoral vibe, I have enjoyed using this during insertion play (or sex) as it is small enough to keep from getting in the way.

Material / Texture

Since it is made of plastic/elastomers, it is body friendly, easy to clean (wash with soap and water) and safe for both silicone and water-based lubricants should you prefer to use lube. I found that caring for the LAYASpot was incredibly easy and that while soft and pliable the elastomer coating did not attract dust or hair, which is great for a household that has a cat, dog, or non-bald humans.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Rigid

Design / Shape / Size

The compact design and shape of the LAYASpot make it ideal for travel, those with limited space (if only we all could have unlimited toy storage, right?) or a situation in which you may be sharing your living space with people from whom you may wish to keep your toys private. The shape is quite body friendly and delivers the vibration you want directly where you want it.
    • Ergonomic
    • Futuristic

Functions / Performance / Controls

The controls are really easy to use. Plus and minus. No muss, no fuss, pretty much the epitome of intuitive design. I found that it was slightly awkward getting used to changing the amount of vibration while in use, but it's easy to get the hang of it. The LAYASpot is very quiet even at its highest setting, but still powerful enough to get the job done. There are three programmed cycles of vibration you can select as well, although I personally prefer just straight vibration. It seemed average in terms of battery life.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

This is one of the easier vibes I've had to take care of. It is safe to use both silicone and water-based lubricants, and when you're done playing, just wash it in warm, soapy water, dry well, and store in your lingerie drawer. Well, that's where I kept mine. Your move may vary on that part.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
Follow-up commentary
I used this toy until the motor died, and that was about two years after I bought it, with regular use. I loved this thing and I can't wait to replace it! It's one of my favorite solo toys of all time - and trust me, I'm not a huge vibe fan so that's saying a lot!

Nice review.

It's definitely a great toy. I just got my girlfriend her second one of these. (The original gave us several years of very frequent service, but eventually died.)

Really nice review! The Laya spot is an awesome looking toy but i just don't think it has the power i need which is sad because I'd love one

Tim1724 - Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Yeah, my trusty black and silver version died on me recently and I keep thinking of acquiring another one, maybe that green and fuchsia one - but I know I'll just go back to black

LingaLoo - It does pack some fairly intense vibrations *for its size*, which isn't to say that it is a super-powerful vibrator. If they found a way to keep all the plusses of this design and shape and size and quietness and double the intensity I'd be blown away!

not sure but we have the Laya and the better than chocolate ( the music ed) both have their good points, but the laya is a little smaller and compact. Both were really well tho and the music seting is fun feature!

So my partner and i decided to check out this site and order a bunch of new items. I just ordered the LAYAspot and it should be here friday! Ehh i cant wait! How does everyone feel about this cute toy?
    • reading the MANY many reviews on the toy will give you a good idea about the overall feelings and consensus of the toys.
    • it's nice that there are so many user submitted reviews on this site. it's so hard to choose a toy, especially an expensive one, with only the manufacturer description.

  • LayaSpot Questions
    • So, I just posted a review of this toy on my blog and and am rereading some reviews here. I am seeing some discrepencies and have a few questions for you.

Some reviewers state that this is a waterproof toy but my instructions clearly state that it is only splashproof. Perhaps the instructions have changed? Maybe Fun Factory decided it wasn't really waterproof? If you have this toy, what did your instructions say?

Furthermore, a few people said that they received silicone based BodyFluid with their LayaSpot but I received their water based lube and, again, my instructions said not to use silicone based lube (I believe, can't find them).

Also, I think it's just me but my Layaspot pretty much smelled god awful when I got it. Anyone else?

Just looking for different experiences with these things..

I've heard that fun factory toys can stink to high heaven, and I have no idea why they would because they're supposed to be 100% silicone. I have other silicone toys and they don't smell at all. Maybe it's not the toy itself but the packaging that surrounds it? Sorry I'm not much help, but the smell that people talk about with FF toys is enough for me to be wary of buying one.

I have since pitched my instructions, but I think mine said splashproof rather than waterproof. I got the Toyfluid (water-based) lube, and mine was smell-free! All of my FF toys have been totally odorless, actually.
