LAYAspot - clitoral vibrator discontinued by Fun Factory - review by mpfm

Layaspot is a colorful clitoral vibrator. I first heard of it a couple of years ago, but didn't purchase it until a few months ago. I shouldn't have waited because it is a great little toy. It is powerful and offers a wide range of steady and pulsating options. I like it best for solo play or when my husband takes control. It also can be used during intercourse for that extra bit of clitoral stimulation. Of course vibrators don't need to be solely used on the fun bits. I also use it to tease other erogenous areas or to gently massage a sore muscle. However I use it, it always hits the spot.

It is wonderful for what it is designed for but note that it's not meant to used vaginally or anally. If that's what your looking for, find a different toy.

Layaspot is made out of Elastomed which rates an 8/10 on Eden's safety scale. Elastomed is said to be sturdy but still soft and flexible. While that may be true of elastomed in general, this toy is not soft and flexible. It is hard and maintains its sturdy shape at all times. There is not any give to the toy at all. Silicone toys such as Mimi and Life have much more flexibility than this toy. I notice the difference most when using during intercourse. Mimi and Life can comfortably squish between bodies because the silicone is softer and a bit more pliable. They are not as wide which also helps. Layaspot is not as pliable and feels much firmer. Some positions are not comfortable with Layaspot because she is just too hard if pushed into the skin.


Layaspot is smooth to the touch. It does drag on the skin a bit so lube is very helpful with Laya. Elastomed is compatible with either silicone or water based lubes. I have also used coconut oil without any adverse effects.

Fun Factory creates some fun shapes, and this is no exception. It's a fairly small toy easily fitting in the palm of my hand. Layaspot comes in a wide range of color schemes. In fact, I think it has the most color choices I have ever seen in a sex toy. I fell in love with Pistachio/Raspberry the first time I saw it. It is predominantly a light green color with a lovely raspberry contrasting color. It's bright and cheery and just begs to be played with.

Designed as an external toy, it has a nice curve that allows the toy to contour with my body. I find it rests easily in place without hands either on my back or my stomach. The shape is nice for a hands free toy.

Even though Layaspot runs on 2 AAA batteries, it is surprisingly powerful. With fresh batteries it is a 4/5 on the intensity scale. It is a tad louder than I like, but not too bad. The noise is obvious in the room, but can't be heard behind a closed door. Music easily hides the evidence. It has both steady and pulsating options


It works using the 2 control buttons on the top of the toy. The "+" turns it on and controls the setting. The "-" turns the steady vibrations down and the toy off. To turn it on, push the "+" button. It starts out at a low steady but it can be bumped up by just holding down the button. If it gets to high, the "-" button will lower the intensity. The pulsating options are available at the highest intensity. Hold the "+" button down until it is at the highest level. Then release the button and push separately to discover all the pulsating options. To turn off the pulses, push the "-" button. That will return it to steady vibrations. In order to turn it off hold the "-" button until it is at the lowest intensity. Then release it and push it down once more. It's really not tricky to operate once it's been used a couple of times. What I like best is that it is not likely to be accidentally turned off during use.

Cleanup is a breeze with this toy. It can be washed with soap and water or a toy cleaner. Just make sure the battery compartment is shut tight before cleaning to reduce the risk of the batteries and motor getting wet.

I store it in a drawer where it is easily accessible. It's truly a low maintenance toy. Gotta love that.

I really love this toy. I love the design and love the colors. It's just too cute to not like. Beyond the cuteness factor, I appreciate how it works. It is strong enough to please me, and I have a persnickety clit so that's saying something. The best feature is that with the curve I can use this hands free. That's nice for lazy solo sessions. The real beauty in the hands free vibe is I can use it when I am giving oral or manual sex for hubby. I can set this on low and keep myself humming while going to town on hubby. That's a win-win.

My only complaint is that the firmness of the material is too hard for some intercourse positions. She just isn't too comfortable for either of us with forceful thrusts. My pliable Mimi and Life just do way better in tight places. It's not all positions, thank goodness. Some work very well. Even with that minor issue, Layaspot is one of my favorite clit vibrators. She's effective and easy to use. As long as I have batteries, I am good to go.
