Which came first?

Probably one of the most dynamic innovations in male sex toys, the Tenga Egg takes every preconception of what a 'good' masturbation sleeve needs and manages to deliver despite embodying the exact opposite. A really clever, satisfying product that gets the job done right.
Published: July 6, 2010
Pros:
Small, discreet - but works big and loud. A truly inspired product.
Cons:
It'll never be quite the experience a Fleshlight is, but is still very, very cool.

Use

When it comes to male sex toys, there have been surprisingly few innovations. The Fleshlight was the first - which finally took the bright idea of a masturbation sleeve and turned it into something special. The next was the Tenga Flip Hole which corrected a few of the Fleshlight's weak spots (being difficult to clean) but didn't quite match the original's performance.

The Tenga Egg Masturbator is the next true sex sleeve innovation - a truly inspired product that delivers what the Fleshlight does, except in reverse.

Traditionally, there have been two types of masturbation sleeves - the soft, rubbery ones with a hole in both ends and the rigid sleeves like the Fleshlight and Tenga. The Tenga Egg takes the best of both and then exceeds all of them.

A tiny nub-sized sleeve - which nestles in its own egg-shaped carrying case - the Egg is basically the final inch or so of a sleeve. It's essentially just enough silicone to encompass the swollen glans of an erection of not a lot else.

But this is where it gets clever - because the sleeve itself is made from a stretchy, soft and succulent brand of silicone that actually expands to encompass the entire shaft on a downward stroke. If you're not quite getting me, just think of it as the Stretch Armstrong of sex sleeves.

With a soft and delicately nubbed interior, this results in a sleeve that literally fits in the palm of your hand, but actually embraces, stimulates and strokes more of your actual penis than many longer 'full-length' sleeves.

Material / Texture

I almost wouldn't have believed it, but the Egg is made from 100% pure silicone - which is 100% pure win for sex toy purists. I'm not sure how the manufacturers managed to achieve the softness and suppleness, but they managed to get it absolutely right with this toy - giving it the softness to feel like real flesh, while still retaining the stretch to expand to encompass an entire penis.

And silicone being silicone, of course, this toy is totally sterilizable, pthalate-free and odorless.

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

The design and fit of the Tenga Egg is nothing short of inspired - it is about the size of a guy's engorged glans, and neatly crowns the tip of a cock. You then 'stetch it' with the downward stroke of the palm to reap the stimulation. It sounds like it should be a recipe for disaster, but it's not. It works perfectly.

The benefits of the closed 'egg' design are that it stimulates the glans throughout the entire process (I tend to 'pop' out of the end of open-ended masturbation sleeves) and also catches the come when you orgasm. It's a very clever, nifty design and is truly innovative.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Simplicity must be the key - there's not much in the way of sophistication here (it's practically the antithesis of the Fleshlight and Flip Hole) but, astonishingly, comes within remarkable range of rivaling them for sensation - and eclipses them in terms of ease of use, convenience and cleanup.
    • Easy to use
    • Feels realistic
    • Very stimulating

Care and Maintenance

Silicone is a breeze to clean. You can boil it, or use soap and water. The plastic egg case is the perfect place to store it and is incredibly discreet. It comes with its own lube, although I used my water-based favorite. Just remember never to use oil-based or silicone lube with this product.

Packaging

The Tenga Egg comes in a cracking (get it?) little plastic egg that makes the perfect storage pod for it. It also comes with a sleeve of lube.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Good for storage

Personal comments

I was blown away by how clever and well-designed this product was. Well done Tenga!

Experience

I will admit that I don't get to orgasm with all that many masturbation sleeves. There's got to be a careful balance between stimulation and softness, give and grasp. The Tenga Egg managed to get the balance just right. It embraces the glans, stimulates the shaft and feels almost as good as the real thing. It brought me to orgasm quickly and highly satisfyingly.

Thanks for the review, I have a question though. Aren't these all single use? Or..just about single use?

whoops. meant to put this under a different topic!
    • From what I've seen, the general consensus is that the Tenga Eggs are pretty nice for the price (rhyme not intended, haha!). A lot of people recommend them to guys as first-time strokers, since they're cheap and disposable.

Before asking questions like this in the forum, though, read a few of the reviews. I find that it's usually helpful to read at least one from someone who really liked it and one from someone who didn't, so you can get an idea from both sides. :)

  • tenga+strap-on?
    • I don't know why, but I keep fantasizing about jerking off my strap-on/hard pack cock with a tenga egg. I feel kinda ridiculous about it but WHY NOT POST IT ON HERE (oh god my tumblr is showing)

I know some of y'all have talked about getting head on your strap-on...but this just seems a little weird. I have had fun jerking off my strap-on cock every once and a while too..

Has anybody had similar ideas/experiences? It's kinda the psychological aspect, like with getting head, I guess?

(And so it wouldn't be a waste, I'd give it to my partner to use after I've had my fun, seeing as I'm not gonna cum in it...)
    • I wouldn't mind it, I'd probably like it more if my partner was the one playing with it for me though haha.
    • Actually I have a couple different Feeldoes, and I have thought about using our Egg on it as well. Then I reember there are better ways to get an orgasm from my Feeldoe, but eventually the need to try it will override my need for a quicker orgasm. I'll report back once I try it ;)

  • Fleshlight
    • How does it compare to the fleshlight feeling?
    • Alan says there's no comparison; Tenga egg is more like an enhanced hand job, but the right Fleshlight is like "gettin some strange" (his words, not mine.. LOL)

  • Tenga Eggs and Foreskin?
    • So I'm curious because I'd love to get my boyfriend one of these. He is not circumcised, meaning he has his foreskin (thank goodness :D ) but that makes we wonder how well these would work for him. See the reason I ask is because his foreskin occasionally will get caught or pinched in a condom, and I know those are significantly tighter, but I'd hate to buy him something that ends up being uncomfortable.

Any uncut guys have experience with these toys and can give me some insight?
    • I hate bumping my own posts but I'm looking for an answer ASAP... I'd like to place my order for other things tonight, and it'd be great to tack this onto the order rather than buying it separately and paying separate shipping.
    • Sorry I'm late.

My Master is also uncut and I got him a couple of Tenga eggs over the past few months. He says they're really enjoyable and they don't hurt. I do rec that your boyfriend uses lube with it, though.

  • Where have all the Tenga Eggs gone?
    • I'm not sure if I keep missing when these come back in stock and they just get bought up really fast or if they just aren't ordering any more. But My partner adores these eggs and would really like to try the Sparkle or Twinkle. However I've never seen them available. Anyone know what is going on with this?
    • I believe that the Tenga Sparkle and Twinkle were 2010 seasonal limited edition, so EF may not be able to get them in stock again at all. Perhaps you can file a support ticket, though, and inquire as to whether or not they will ever return to stock.

:( I have been wondering why those are always out of stock myself. I really want to get one of both Twinkle and Sparkle for my SO, but I have yet to see them stocked myself.

  • Tenga Egg Material
    • I know EF has the eggs listed as being silicone but I wondered if anyone has actually flame tested one of these cute little guys.

Reason I ask is because I went searching the tenga website when someone (and I cannot for the life of me remember who) wrote a review and were unsure of the egg lotion being water or silicone based.

When I stumbled onto the tenga canada site and saw the specs for the egg it said there they are actually made of Elastomer.

So has anyone taken science into their own hands about these little suckers?
    • Hmmm very interesting indeed...

We've never used one of the eggs, but I'm very interested in knowing the answer to this. Not that it would make a super huge difference simply because they're so cheap and disposable.. I wouldn't mind if it was Elastomer as opposed to silicone. I'm still gonna get one :)
    • Oh for sure. It just would make a whole lot more sense right. Like why it is so disposable, why it does not seem to matter what lube you use.

  • Single use?
    • I'm wondering exactly why these are only single-use. I've read most of the reviews, but still do not understand exactly why (I would have commented, I just wanted to make a general discussion). Since it's silicone, shouldn't it be..? Or is it a really low-grade or soft silicone or something?

      Thank you!

      Hi Sir!

We have one and we've only used it once so far, but the top of the egg appears to be thinning, like it will break with one or two more uses. I think it is the grade of silicone, however, I really do think they can last more than one use. Many people I know who use them get at least a few uses out of them.
    • Glad someone posted on these because I'm infinitely curious about them. I hope someone does a video because I still can't get a good idea of how these work just by looking at/reading about them.
