Aqua Net for Your Sheets
Silky Sheets is a talc spray with pheromones meant to dry up wet spots and leave sheets silky and fresh smelling. Unfortunately, the Spring Rain fragrance leaves something to be desired.Published: October 19, 2009
Pros:
Dries up wet spots.
Cons:
Smells like Aqua Net, leaves white spots on dark sheets.
I don't remember who I saw do a review of this. But powder in a can sounded like an awesome idea. I mean, pheromones and fragrance and silky sheets? Who can resist? I know, with satin sheets not yet in my budget, I sure couldn't. So I snatched up a bottle of the Spring Rain scent expecting something crisp and clean.
It came in a silver bottle with directions on the back (Shake well. Hold can 6-8 inches away from area to be misted.), the usual warnings of contents under pressure, the ingredients (Denatured Alcohol, Talc, Propane, Butane, Isobutane, Fragrance, Mineral Oil, Acetone, Copulandron, Copuline-alike, Reconstituted Andronone), and a push down spray nozzle.
This spray can be used to clean up wet spots! That's pretty cool. You spray a little on the spot and the talc absorbs the wetness leaving behind what's supposed to be a nice fragrance.
And that's about where the coolness stops.
It claims that it makes cotton sheets soft and almost satiny. And it contains pheromones to arouse the people using it.
However, you have to be particular about how you spray this product on dark sheets. Too close or too much and you've got a thin white sheen on your sheets that stays for a day or two. And I didn't really notice the soft, satiny feel the spray is supposed to leave behind. My sheets felt about the same.
I haven't noticed any heightened sex drive. I'm not finding myself laying down in freshly sprayed sheets and wanting to get laid. But maybe that's just me.
As for the fragrance, I do not like it at all.
The first time I sprayed this product, I shot it into the air giddy with anticipation of this amazingly clean scent. Instead, I got a blast of what smelled like Aqua Net.
I thought, "No biggie. It'll dissipate and I'll be left with the hint of clean that I can smell under all that Aqua Net smelling grossness." However, while the clean, crisp, fresh smell of spring rain did strengthen, the Aqua Net smell did not go away.
And the fragrance didn't last long at all. An hour at most. I've had water based body sprays last longer than that on sheets.
I'm not going to knock it completely. From the reviews I've read, it sounds like some of the other fragrances are much nicer, having little to no aerosol smell. I'll probably buy a couple other fragrances before I decide how I feel about the product as a whole. But as for Spring Rain and me? We're through.

Follow-up commentary
4 months after original review
Figures, M likes the fragrance I hate. He said to mention in my follow up that he loves the Aqua Net... Erm... I mean "Spring Rain" fragrance we originally purchased and that I've been ordered to buy another can when we need more.
I still hate the Spring Rain fragrance.
However! I decided to give Silky Sheets another chance and picked up Vanilla Fields and Orange Mango and they are divoon. Especially together. Orange Mango is light and citrusy while Vanilla Fields is thick and warm. Next to no aerosol smell that I've noticed. And together they smell sort of like orange cream soda.
I finally got the hang of spraying this powder in a way that doesn't leave white spots on my sheets. You just have to be careful how close you spray it and how much you use. But hey... It is powder, after all, even if it is in a spray can. A little whiteness should be expected.

Silky Sheets

Was just wondering if anyone else uses this product for anything other than the sheet spray? When I used to demo this product, I would demo it for deoderant, under the breast spray to help with absorbing moisture and a few other uses. What do YOU use it for?

Using Silky Sheets to Dry Spot
-
I know a lot of people say that Silky Sheets works well to dry wet spots but.. I haven't had any luck with this at all. If anything, it only seems to make it worse! Maybe I am using too much? Too little? Not doing the hokey pokey?
So how can I use this to get the best spot drying? Any advice is welcome -

Anyone? -
Hehe hokey pokey. That's sad, I've been wanting these. I hope you figure it out!

Thank you for viewing Silky sheets – lubricant review page!

A really cool idea, but smelling like hairspray and leaving white marks doesn't sound like much fun. Thanks for the review!
Ah, Aqua Net
I do like the concept, though!
Thanks for the review. I have seen this when I used to sell Pure Romance products. It was called 'Between the Sheets', but I had never used it or sold it.
I've never seen this thing. Odd idea. Why not just sleep on the wet spot?
Thank god mine didn't smell like hair spray!
Ok so Spring Rain smells like aerosal...course then again most spring rains in my part of the world smell like ozone so I imagine I'd feel at home. LOL Anyhow thanks for the heads up on that scent and on the orange mango and vanilla fields!
Isn't it always like guys to suddenly become enamoured with a scent we can't stand? Always works that way with my guys, one will loathe it and the other will request it. *Eye rolls*
Excellent review!
