Luna mini pleasure bead system - exerciser for vaginal muscles by LELO - review by Eva Schwaltz

I own a variety of different kinds of kegel exercisers and I was always intrigued with the Luna Pleasure Bead System but the size of the original set seemed quite intimidating so I'm glad I picked these mini ones for review.

A strong and healthy vagina is a happy one, and there are a number of benefits for doing kegel exercises. Kegels can help improve or prevent any problems with urinary incontinence, a tighter vagina, and stronger orgasms. Men can do kegels as well but this kit was designed for the female anatomy and can only be inserted vaginally.

This kit includes four weighted vaginal balls which fit inside a girdle two at a time. With most other kegel exercisers you are stuck with whatever weight they give you, but this kit allows you to use three different weight combinations.

Each of the balls are made of plastic with probably a metal weight inside--I would avoid going through security with these in--and the girdle is silicone. These materials rank extremely high on the safety scale and are totally body safe.

The girdle doesn't have much drag to it but a drop of water based lube may help with insertion. Silicone lubes can degrade the material so I would avoid using silicone lubricant with these.

This kit has the same weights as the original Luna Pleasure Bead System however the size of the balls in the mini set are obviously smaller. The pink balls are each 28 grams, and the blue ones are 37 grams. Holding the pink ones in one hand and the blue ones in the other, the blue balls definitely have more weight to them.

The various weight choices are:
Two pink equals 56 grams;
Two blue equals 74 grams;
One pink one blue equals 65 grams.

The smaller size of these makes them real easy to insert, and there is a retrieval cord on one of the pink balls and one of the blue balls to help take them out with ease. The insertable length is 3" inches and have a circumference of 3 3/4". These are almost the same size as the Emigi which I also have. The Emigi has an insertable length of 2 1/2" but the circumference is also 3 3/4", but doesn't weigh as much as the Mini Pleasure Beads.

These should be worn for about 30 minutes a day, preferably while you are active. I can really feel the weights moving inside the balls while they are inserted and the rattling can be heard if you are in a quiet room. I like the sensation of the weights moving around, it's much more noticeable than the Emigi and I can feel my muscles clamp around them when the weights are jiggling around. These won't fall out as easily as the Ben Wa Balls so I am comfortable going anywhere with these in. I noticed them the most when I was going up and down stairs.

I didn't experience any discomfort inserting or removing the balls. Aside from the jiggling, it felt like I had nothing in. I contorted myself into various positions (squatting, legs sprawled, feet in the air, etc) and there was no discomfort at all with these in. I didn't even notice the retrieval cord resting against my labia. The retrieval cord is quite thin so it probably could break if you tug at it too hard, but as long as you "push" with your vaginal muscles while taking out the balls, it shouldn't break. The noise these make is probably going to bug a lot of people, so if you need to be discreet, other kegel exercisers like the emigi are much quieter. I haven't worn these out of the house much, but I could easily pass the noise off as something in my purse or ice in my water bottle.

I thoroughly enjoy using these. All my other kegel exercisers don't get much use but I can tell I'll be pulling these out more often.

To clean this it is best to clean each ball and the girdle individually because there are some hidden areas that fluids can get trapped in. Soap and warm water is good but you can also use a good toy cleaner.

These are small enough to store anywhere, but the box and pouch it comes with is also great for storage.

The packaging for the Mini Pleasure Beads is just lovely. First there's an outer thin cardboard piece with some product information but it's not worth keeping around. Inside is a thicker cardboard box which is sturdy enough for storage and it just has Lelo written on it. The balls sit in a foam cutout and underneath is the satin drawstring pouch, user manual, warranty booklet, and a packet of Lelo's personal moisturizer.
