Maximus has become one of my top favorite lubricants. I first learned about it when I was asking friends for advice on their personal choices for lubricants for anal play. I wanted a lube that wouldn’t wear away and would last for my adventures. After everyone mentioned one brand or another, one of my friends was glowing with her recommendations and since she was an anal expert I decided to give it a try.
Maximus is designed for those times when you need a lube that will hold up for heavy activities. It comes packaged in a plastic bottle with a pump which makes it handy when you would like to apply it without the mess or fuss. It has a thicker texture compared to most water-based lubes. The convenience of this is when you are applying them to a person or a toy; it stays put and allows the ease of slippery insertion.
I first experienced it when I was enjoying a night in with my larger buttplug. I tried the plug a couple times before, but it never felt right. After a couple of minutes it didn’t feel right. After taking a break and taking the plug out the lube would be gone (even with a large amount of lube). I decided to try the plug with Maximus. After inserting it with ease, I started penetrating myself with it over and over again until I couldn’t take it anymore and had a breath-tacking orgasm. After coming down from the post-orgasm high, I started cleaning up and after removing the plug I noticed it was still slippery. What a difference.
Since then, I’ve used it practically on all my anal adventures ranging from toys and plenty amounts of anal sex. I have never been disappointed with it and after longer uses all you have to do is add a bit more and get back into your pleasure. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend it for is oral sex, as I didn’t enjoy the taste of it.

I still use Maximus on a regular basis and I'm still in love with it as I was before. The only thing I wish is that I could get it in a bigger container.
It's the perfect lube for all my needs, stays wet and provides me with hours of fun.

I know most people absolutely love this lube, but when I try to use it, it feels like my genitals are on fire! Could it be due to the parabens? Any thoughts, or any recommendations for another thicker water-based lubricant?

I'm not sure if it's kosher to mention a competitor's product here, but BabeLube is a wonderful water-based lube that's comparable in thickness to Maximus.

Maximus is my go-to lube. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with it.

Is Maximus as Great as The Reviews Say?

Two negative things I've seen written are that it has a bitter aftertaste and it does peel off, dry, and need to be washed off.
Positives and opposites I've heard are that it has a natural tasteless feel similar to saliva, and it is a thicker lubricant. Also the pump looks like a great feature that makes this product less messy.
I would like to try it for myself, and wonder if it is really the go-to lube for me, and for others like me. -
This is my favorite water-based lube, hands down and without a doubt. It's pretty thick (ideal for backdoor fun). I've fallen asleep with it on my hands and don't wake up with fuzzy or sticky palms (until they get wet, then it reactivates).

It is slightly bitter but not bothersome. It is thicker and also works very well for anal. I never feel the need to wash it off unless I overdue in the heat of passion.

Does Maximus come in any other size bottles? I feel like 8 oz. would be a lot for me to use before it goes bad. Also, it seems like a big bottle to store somewhere discrete.

It really isn't very big - I have mine it a bedside drawer. Maximus is so thick that you don't have to worry about it leaking unless you really press on the bottle. If my mind isn't playing tricks on me, the bottle is about 2-3/4" in diameter and 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall (including pump), and I think it's closer to 4.5
I think mine's good to 2013 or something (I'm not at home now, but I can check later), so I wouldn't worry about it going bad -

It smells/tastes baaad, though.
True, I don't like the taste of it however that's why will only use it after oral sex or if we are skipping that.
I actually don't find the smell bad. Maybe I'm use to it or wrapped up in the fun.
What does it taste LIKE exactly?
It's hard to describe the taste. I just did a taste test and it takes a bit medical with some grapefruit or lime mixed in. It taste better then I remember however it's not something that would stop me during it. I just prefer other taste or none at all.
Sorry, I can't be more helpful in terms of the taste, personally I don't use it for activities that require my mouth and lube.
Thanks for the detailed review. Taste isn't too much of an issue for me since I would use it after oral sex. Is it just a bad taste or down right awful?
