Water-based? Really?

Bodywise Limited really delivers on this one with their Maximus water-based lubricant. This clear lube comes in a matching clear bottle and a white pump action handle. The bottle itself is not that thrilling, but everyone knows that it's the inside that counts, and this one doesn’t disappoint.
I was a little hesitant when I first ordered the Maximus lubricant because I was concerned about its consistency. Some water-based lubes out there tend to be a little runny, but this lube did not disappoint me in the least. When I first used it, I was impressed that the lube was so dense. I feel that this is the best lube I’ve encountered in a while, especially considering that it is water-based.
The fantastic thing about Maximus being water-based is that you are free to use it with any type of material toy that you have; it’s safe on anything. Clean up is a breeze, as you can just wipe or wash it off without too much effort, as opposed to those tedious oil lubes.
You have to love the pump action handle because you can measure out just the right amount every time. I also find that I usually only need about one squirt of this stuff, either on a masturbation device or on my bare hands, per session; it is very effective and long-lasting. Not only is it great for toy action, but also anal play. With Maximus, you’re able to glide right on in, as if there were no such thing as friction. The lube also works well with a bit of saliva to get it extra slippery, if you feel the need to do so in the heat of the moment.
Overall, this is one award winning lube. It priced pretty fair for its quality, and you’re sure to get your money’s worth. I know most people absolutely love this lube, but when I try to use it, it feels like my genitals are on fire! Could it be due to the parabens? Any thoughts, or any recommendations for another thicker water-based lubricant?

I'm not sure if it's kosher to mention a competitor's product here, but BabeLube is a wonderful water-based lube that's comparable in thickness to Maximus.

Maximus is my go-to lube. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with it.

Is Maximus as Great as The Reviews Say?

Two negative things I've seen written are that it has a bitter aftertaste and it does peel off, dry, and need to be washed off.
Positives and opposites I've heard are that it has a natural tasteless feel similar to saliva, and it is a thicker lubricant. Also the pump looks like a great feature that makes this product less messy.
I would like to try it for myself, and wonder if it is really the go-to lube for me, and for others like me. -
This is my favorite water-based lube, hands down and without a doubt. It's pretty thick (ideal for backdoor fun). I've fallen asleep with it on my hands and don't wake up with fuzzy or sticky palms (until they get wet, then it reactivates).

Does Maximus come in any other size bottles? I feel like 8 oz. would be a lot for me to use before it goes bad. Also, it seems like a big bottle to store somewhere discrete.

It really isn't very big - I have mine it a bedside drawer. Maximus is so thick that you don't have to worry about it leaking unless you really press on the bottle. If my mind isn't playing tricks on me, the bottle is about 2-3/4" in diameter and 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall (including pump), and I think it's closer to 4.5
I think mine's good to 2013 or something (I'm not at home now, but I can check later), so I wouldn't worry about it going bad -
