Email Settings for Alerts

Contributor: Kynky Kytty Kynky Kytty
When I first joined EF, I created my account with my primary email, until I created an email for Kynky Kytty. At that point, I received the newsletter to both my emails, and actually, I still do and even after I clicked on the 'Remove all alerts. So, there is a email setting that I just can't control, and I think I just found the source of the problem.

After removing all alerts lately, I started to establish again my list of email alerts for all my review comments, and when people post new reviews. Everything worked well, but when I did an order yesterday, something changed. This morning, I woke up to alerts transfered to my primary email.

Maybe it was changed because the primary email is associated with my Paypal adress and that's what triggered the change. Is there a way to not have our email settings changed so easily if there is an email associated with a physical adress or a Paypal account, and make it easy to enable back email alerts. It's actually very tedious right now for getting alerts for comments on reviews; I have to resubmit all my reviews. A small check box next to them in the review page would really be sweet.

I also found no way to change the setting that had recorded my primary email, unless I changed all alerts manually and individually. So it would be nice to be able to see and change all the settings that were saved with our accounts. A mass change setting could be useful as well.

Thanks

I have the same problem, actually, with my PayPal account. I share it with a family member, so it's sometimes aggravating when I see that the alerts went to their account rather than mine. Thank you for bringing this up!

I'm not surprised that this issue was not noticed earlier, most people do not use two different emails for shopping here, and besides, more of them do not have alerts set up. And then, I'm not sure a lot of people using email alerts are using Paypal frequently.

I'd like to bump this thread, as the issue is still current. I even receive my Community Newsletter to my personal email, and not even the one associated to my account. And my primary email is NOWHERE to be found in my account setting. This should not be.

And as for the suggestion for the alerts, it would be really useful. Like I said having a page with a mass editing option for our reviews would be very useful, so that I could activate it for all reviews. Right now, I realized that I wasn't receiving some alerts, and there is no way for me to reactivate it, as the option has disappeared.

Thanks.

I thought I was the only one who had a weird issue like this with email. But now that I know other people do as well, I've passed it on to see what can be done about it. In the future with stuff like this, it's always best if you let one of us know directly either with a support ticket or by emailing us. We don't always catch things posted in the forums.
