Tips for a beginner dom?

Contributor: MagneticDuke MagneticDuke
Hello. I've been playing around with AI recently, and I noticed that, at least when dealing with computer-aided fantasies, I seem to have a bit of a dominant streak I didn't realize was there until now. Makes sense, because I've enjoyed BDSM-adjacent things, like electricity play before.

Can anyone recommend resources for separating the truth about BDSM from the noise, or for finding local communities/workshops/ clubs and the like? I'd rather have some knowledge from someone more experienced going in than try to work everything beyond S.S.C.C out from first principles on the fly.

As a beginner, FetLife.com is going to be your best friend. And always remember that BDSM isn't just about pain or control, it's about empathy and understanding of psychological trauma in most cases. I think mainstream society has most people believing that BDSM is the epitome of sexual torture and the like, but in all reality, it's about connection and healing. Mainstream society also seems to depict that most dominants are mean, and that might be true for most cases, but I take pride in being a nice dominant who is only mean when my submissive makes me be. I will always try to push their limits, but never in a foul way, only to help make them better as submissive or better able to accept who they truly are at heart and love themselves for who that is. Most workshops or clubs online are only there to make money, nothing less, so be very wary of what you get yourself wrapped in. I know that most of the things of that nature that I have personally tried have never really helped much or taught me anything that I couldn't have learned better through my own research and interactions with others online. Just food for thought. If you need any help or anything, you can message me.
