Cute idea but just meh for me.

The Layaspot is a fun and neat idea however it didn't do what I expected it to do. It felt the vibrations were too weak and not concentrated enough. If you like a softer vibration this is good for you!

Pros:
Ergonomic design, easy to clean, customizable settings.
Cons:
Not very strong, not concentrated vibrations (that may be more of a personal preference though)

Use

The Layaspot vibrator is used for clitoral stimulation only. The idea is that you can lay it in place and not have to mess with it, also, to be able to use it during sex was what prompted me to by this vibrator. It is waterproof which allows you to use it in the shower or bath.

Material / Texture

The Layaspot is made of plastic and elastomed. It is soft and smooth in the spots where it is covered by elastomed and has no texture. It is phtalates-free. It's a very pretty vibrator, the purple color is really nice! It has no smell.

Design / Shape / Size

The idea of being able to lay this vibrator on my clit and use it hands free was a perk, which is why I bought it. It's great for beginners and advanced users alike. It's great for people that want a softer vibration. It is easy to store and is small enough to travel with discreetly. Plus, it sort of looks like a computer mouse so if someone saw it they may not even know what it was!

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Layaspot has two buttons, a plus and minus to regulate to intensity. When you get to the highest setting you can hold down the + button to sort through different pulsations. This is nice for you to customize to meet your personal needs. The lowest intensity is more of a shake than a vibration. The different pulsations are only at the highest setting.

When I got it, my husband was deployed, so I used it alone at first. It did the job but I felt it was not strong enough. It's also louder than I thought it would be. It's quiet enough to not be heard from behind a closed door but it's loud enough that it was distracting to me. I personally like a thinner vibe that I can rub on my sweet spot rather than have all over vibration. My clit can be very sensitive so I like being able to control where the highest vibration is. you can't do that very well with the Layaspot.

This toy is waterproof. I used it in the bath a few times but when you look at the design of the battery cover you will wonder how water doesn't seep in. It doesn't look sealed well. Sometimes while I was using it the battery cover would pop off, which was annoying to say the least.

The Layaspot uses 2 AAA batteries that sometimes run out quickly depending on the use.

Care and Maintenance

You can clean this vibrator with antibacterial soap and water or with a toy cleaner. You can also use a silicone or water based lube with this. I recommend Eros Bodyglide.

Personal comments

I enjoyed this toy. It was OK for something different but it just didn't work well for me. It's currently sitting in my toy bag reserved for all the rejected toys. :( It's too bad because I really liked the idea of the design. It didn't work well for me because I like more of a concentrated vibration rather than one all over. I have trouble orgasming unless all the stars are aligned and everything is perfect, so this wasn't for me. If you have an easier time than I do this would probably work well for you!

Did the battery compartment pop off in the water? That wouldn't have been good Smile.

This is a cute toy. Nice review!

You're totally right about the pinpoint stimulation vs. all-over. I think you've highlighted the biggest deciding factor for people considering this toy. Nice job!

@Sammi Thankfully it didn't come off in the water but it definitely made me nervous!

not sure but we have the Laya and the better than chocolate ( the music ed) both have their good points, but the laya is a little smaller and compact. Both were really well tho and the music seting is fun feature!

So my partner and i decided to check out this site and order a bunch of new items. I just ordered the LAYAspot and it should be here friday! Ehh i cant wait! How does everyone feel about this cute toy?
    • reading the MANY many reviews on the toy will give you a good idea about the overall feelings and consensus of the toys.
    • it's nice that there are so many user submitted reviews on this site. it's so hard to choose a toy, especially an expensive one, with only the manufacturer description.

  • LayaSpot Questions
    • So, I just posted a review of this toy on my blog and and am rereading some reviews here. I am seeing some discrepencies and have a few questions for you.

Some reviewers state that this is a waterproof toy but my instructions clearly state that it is only splashproof. Perhaps the instructions have changed? Maybe Fun Factory decided it wasn't really waterproof? If you have this toy, what did your instructions say?

Furthermore, a few people said that they received silicone based BodyFluid with their LayaSpot but I received their water based lube and, again, my instructions said not to use silicone based lube (I believe, can't find them).

Also, I think it's just me but my Layaspot pretty much smelled god awful when I got it. Anyone else?

Just looking for different experiences with these things..

I've heard that fun factory toys can stink to high heaven, and I have no idea why they would because they're supposed to be 100% silicone. I have other silicone toys and they don't smell at all. Maybe it's not the toy itself but the packaging that surrounds it? Sorry I'm not much help, but the smell that people talk about with FF toys is enough for me to be wary of buying one.

I have since pitched my instructions, but I think mine said splashproof rather than waterproof. I got the Toyfluid (water-based) lube, and mine was smell-free! All of my FF toys have been totally odorless, actually.
