No batteries, extremely quiet, very powerful
If you do not like to orgasm, go elsewhere. I 100% suggest the Wahl for anyone looking for a strong clitoral vibrator. Not only is it quiet, but also has seven attachments and each provide a unique sensation. Although this massager is attached to a wall, this means no more batteries or running low on charge. Although the Wahl has some flaws, five stars because they are not significant enough to decrease my opinion that everyone should own a Wahl.Published: May 9, 2011
Pros:
Powerful, quiet, two unique settings, wide variety of attachments, much smaller than expected
Cons:
Not phthalates free, handle not water-resistant
This has been a difficult review to write, mostly because this product has no tragic flaw and I struggle to find a better way to spend thirty six dollars. The Wahl is dependable, will most likely last forever, and is by far the strongest and most quiet vibrator I own. Unlike most massagers, which have a "strong" or "less-strong" setting, the Wahl's "low/high" are almost like two completely different products. The "high" is a deep rumbly setting, while the "low" has a more shallow vibration. Although both of these settings are extremely powerful, the Wahl has a low frequency sound emission which does not travel as well as some higher frequency sounds. So, instead of sounding like a dentist tool, this sounds more similar to an old window air conditioner.
With no background music, I set the Wahl on the highest setting, left it laying on my bed, closed the door and walked outside my room. Inches from my door, I could not hear the faintest humming. Although this is exceptionally quiet, some attachments do increase the noise a bit. In my experience, the muscle kneading attachment is the loudest, and the spot application is the quietest. Each attachment is very unique in their sensations and I have developed favorites quite quickly, so here are my top four:
1. Knuckle Joint: This is a pyramid-like shape which can provide either pinpoint or diffused vibrations depending on what area of the attachment used. It also fits well between the labia.
2. Deep Muscle: The large center of this bullseye-like attachment provides very concentrated pinpoint stimulation, while the surrounding rings help keep the attachment from veering away from the desired area.
3. Muscle Kneading: I like this attachment for broad, all over, and highly diffused stimulation. The Ridges can cradle the clitoris, providing more of a teasing sensation, and the vibrations are muted enough for comfortable nipple, labia, belly or thigh massages.
4. Spot Application: High risk, high reward. This finger-like attachment provides extremely concentrated and high powered vibrations pinpointed exactly where you want them. This is nearly an instant orgasm for me however it does take a little caution. If not held correctly, sometimes the vibrations can go a little wild and bounce away from the desired area.
Every attachment is made of PVC, which is softer than plastic, but more firm than most silicones. Although these are all great an unique attachments which can provide pleasure for everyone, I do have two problems: 1. They are porous 2. They have phthalates. A person brought this question up in the forums so I emailed the Wahl Company and they responded that the attachments have very small levels of phthalates. That being said, these have caused no irritation to my skin and I don't think I have cancer. The only improvement I would really push for would be the sale of separate silicone attachments.
Seven great attachments, one stellar product but here are the limitations. The Wahl has a generous nine foot cord which gives plenty of length to move around with, however, it is still attached to a wall. This is perfect for my needs but if you are a person who wants to wander with their vibrator or bring them in the shower, maybe choose the Mimi. Also, although the Wahl is conducive to partner play, I have not used it with my lover for a few personal reasons. First, he is a little bit apprehensive towards toys and having something this large makes him uncomfortable. Second, because this is an "L" shape, it might be a little cumbersome to keep in place.
Expanding on the shape and size, IT IS NOT AS CLUNKY AS YOU THINK! I was expecting this product to be the size of a standard salon-type hairdryer however, much to my happiness, it is closer to a petite travel drier one might find at a hotel. This comparison may mean nothing to a man, so I will tell you it is smaller than my electric drill, much smaller, and shorter than a hammer. I immediately realized it was not quite as large as expected just by the size of the box. Oh box and instruction manual, so unsuspecting. The Wahl is delivered in a perfectly vanilla cardboard box along with a small instruction manual which describes proper care and usage of this product. It even included lovely pictures of a woman soothing sore muscles and massaging her joints...but we know her secret.

Experience
This is my go-to clitoral vibrator and someone better be pretty brave and really strong if they attempt to take it away. I don't know what else can be said for that.

wahl for someone who needs to be discreet?
-
i'm considering giving my partner some special gifts for her birthday next year and introducing her to toys (she's not nearly as adventurous as i am.) i want a classic vibrator for her so that she can familiarize herself with what she likes, and the wahl massager looks pretty perfect for that.
her bedroom is upstairs in an old house and i'm wondering if, from anyone who has experience with the massager; it could be heard downstairs when being used in an upstairs room. i don't have any way to test with toys of my own, as my house is very different from hers and we're rather long-distance right now. i want to gift her something awesome, not something that could lead to an awkward situation with her family )8
any experiences with the noise the wahl makes would be appreciated! the same goes for other classic/versatile vibrators. thanks! -

If she is unfamiliar with toys, however, this may be too strong. Although not as quiet, a kit like this may be less intimidating. That aside, I LOVE my Wahl and think every woman should own one so it's now or later for your partner : )

yeah, the power may prove too much for her. i know she has sensitivity problems like i do (where she needs a LOT of stimulation) but i don't know what her definition of 'strong' vs 'too strong' would be, especially only having used her hands before!
the beginner kit looks ideal, but she has a really limited cashflow and keeping it in batteries would be hard :( maybe i'll surprise her with a mia instead? it's rechargeable, and while it's not as versatile as an insertable it would probably be way less intimidating than the wahl for now :D

Which Wahl Massager is best?
-
I haven't seen any comparison threads yet. Which one is the most powerful? Which one has the best features?
-
Quote: I haven't seen any comparison threads yet. Which one is the most powerful? Which one has the best features?i don't own any of these (although i'll probably collect them in the future :P) but from what i understand they're all about equal power; but the wands are more concentrated and loud.

I find the Whal two speed is best for one reason, the pounding high setting which is the best I've experienced. I haven't found any other vibrator with the same vibration frequency and including the other Whals.

Good Vibrations

I'm done with the battery scene and looking for something more substantial but I want a vibrator with the right type of vibrations. One review said this product had a "buzzy" setting opposed to the Hitachi with deep throbbing vibrations. What are other comments on they type of vibrations this massager has? Living in a dorm, I need a more quit toy than the Hitachi but would also prefer the deep vibes. Thanks very much for the input

Thanks very much for the inputI have not used the hitachi, so I can't compare, but I would describe this one as "buzzy".
It is quiet when muffled but I still wouldn't use it with a roommate in the room! I would look into the Mystic Wand as well before I made a purchase. Or one of the Fairy Massagers. Good luck! -

I don't know about the type of vibrations, but again I have heard/read very positive thing regarding the wanachi, mystic wand, and fairy products!

Material of attachments
-
It seems no one is concerned about the Pthalates in the PVC attachments for this thing (material safety 2). Am I missing something?
-
That's a good question.
I think it's because the attachments are designed for external use only.
:) -
Quote: That's a good question.Well yeah it not designed for "special areas" but if you use it down there it seems like it would be 'unsafe'...? If its just being used on the clitoris and surrounding areas it would still touching porous tissue. I'm just curious since no one mentioned it in their review

Thank you for viewing Wahl 2-Speed massager kit – vibrator review page!

Great review! I've been thinking about getting a Wahl for a while now. I think this review has swayed me.
Awesome! I'm getting acquainted with the Wahl. I think it's great so far! Thanks for reviewing!
I hope Wahl starts paying me commission lol Since purchasing I've basically become a Wahl pusher! @Wetone123, I hope you are enjoying yours as much as I am! @RedVinylKitty, you won't regret buying one!
Awesome review! I've been looking into this one, hopefully I'll be getting it soon.
Thanks for the review!
I love my Wahl and you're right, it's really not as clunky or hard to maneuver as it looks!
I apologize for the sexual stereotypes used to express the size, however I assumed these are two common items and a person could relate to at least one easily. Not until re-reading my review did I recognize how bias these comparisons were. Thanks for understanding.
Great review! I love my Wahl, too. Great run down on the attachments. My favorite is the Muscle Kneading attachment as well. That's the rectangle one with the ridges on it, right? I've had mine so long (I'm on my second) I have lost the instructions.

Great review I have a massager really similar to this, but I believe it is made by Bed, Bath & Beyond. I can't remember where I got it... They are almost identical though. And mine is super powerful as well.
Thanks for the comments! I'm afraid no matter what clitoral vibrator I purchase, nothing will compare to the Wahl.
Awesome review!
Thanks for the review.
thanks for this review!
Thanks for sharing this review with us!
Very nice, thankyou. :3
nice review!!!
Thanks for the review
looks great... BUT IT IS SO UGLY
I don't think it is as ugly when you hold it in your hands. It's sort of like looking at the Hitachi, not sleek, but very effective.
