It seems no one is concerned about the Pthalates in the PVC attachments for this thing (material safety 2). Am I missing something?

That's a good question.

I think it's because the attachments are designed for external use only.

Well yeah it not designed for "special areas" but if you use it down there it seems like it would be 'unsafe'...? If its just being used on the clitoris and surrounding areas it would still touching porous tissue. I'm just curious since no one mentioned it in their review

I don't think there are any pthalates in teh PVC in this toy. Not all PVC contains these contaminants.

Under "Safety Features" it says "Phthalates Free." Both Whal and EF would probably be in legal trouble if they advertised the product as phthalate free and only referred to the plastic, not the attachments. Like P'Gell said, I dont' think all PVC contains contaminants but you can go to the [https://www.wahl-store.com/ | Whal company page and contact them. It would be really nice if Whal started producing silicone attachments, this is one of my very favorite vibrators and knowing these attachments are quite porous is upsetting.

I emailed the Wahl Store and they said, "...we were doing some
research. The massager PVC attachments do contain small levels of Phthalates." It would be really nice if Wahl sold separate silicone heads.

I agree separate silicone heads would make would rock, given this toys growing popularity I'm hoping a third party eventually steps in makes some. There are some attachment for the Wahl which are better then PVC but unfortunately no silicone. For example this one is made of vinyl which is still a low rated material: link

I'm not too concern since I'm a male and I only use it externally some times I use it through my underwear even.

I used the massager through another material, like my underwear or an empty pillow case, so that the PVC would not come in contact with my skin. This was partially to help muffle the vibrations, and make the toy easier to use, but also to keep myself safe!

Because the toy is not meant for "intimate" use, I would not recommend it to be someone's go to vibrator. Even though it gets the job done. Hope this helps!
