wahl for someone who needs to be discreet?

i'm considering giving my partner some special gifts for her birthday next year and introducing her to toys (she's not nearly as adventurous as i am.) i want a classic vibrator for her so that she can familiarize herself with what she likes, and the wahl massager looks pretty perfect for that.

her bedroom is upstairs in an old house and i'm wondering if, from anyone who has experience with the massager; it could be heard downstairs when being used in an upstairs room. i don't have any way to test with toys of my own, as my house is very different from hers and we're rather long-distance right now. i want to gift her something awesome, not something that could lead to an awkward situation with her family )8

any experiences with the noise the wahl makes would be appreciated! the same goes for other classic/versatile vibrators. thanks!

I live in a dorm with vents and paper thin walls and mine makes so little noise that it doesn't even need to be drowned out with music. If she is unfamiliar with toys, however, this may be too strong. Although not as quiet, a kit like this may be less intimidating. That aside, I LOVE my Wahl and think every woman should own one so it's now or later for your partner : )

thank you very much for your input!!

yeah, the power may prove too much for her. i know she has sensitivity problems like i do (where she needs a LOT of stimulation) but i don't know what her definition of 'strong' vs 'too strong' would be, especially only having used her hands before!

the beginner kit looks ideal, but she has a really limited cashflow and keeping it in batteries would be hard maybe i'll surprise her with a mia instead? it's rechargeable, and while it's not as versatile as an insertable it would probably be way less intimidating than the wahl for now

I would definitely NOT recommend the Wahl for someone new to vibrators...
The Forever Yours is a great first vibe-
link

It's great and the vibrations are great for the price. I am not sensitive at all and this is good for me. It's not intimidating for sure. I have the purple and I love it. It makes a great clit vibe and she could insert it if she wanted. Make sure to tell her to take the batteries out after use so they don't run down. I find that my batteries last a long time with this. Buy her a bunch of batteries and some toy cleaner to go along with it.

There's also the Velvet Touch-
link
The batteries are said to last long with this one as well. I bought it for a friend for a first time vibe.

Don't get the Mia... It's a little too expensive for someone who doesn't even know if they like vibrators. Up to you though of course

this thing is reallllllyyy quiet. I use it in my bedroom alll the time and no one can hear it outside the door. Usually I have a fan on as a precaution, but it's not needed.

If shes new to toys I definitely would not get her the wahl. It is pretty loud but then again someone could say they were hurting and needed a massage

My first toy was the evolved seduction, and it is the perfect toy. I still love it. It's great for beginners and doesn't have a cord. It's also really quiet so she could use it in her room without anyone hearing the motor. I'm sure she will love it, and if not Evolved carries a lot of inexpensive great beginner and advanced user toys

There's no way it would be heard. I have quite a few toys, and the Wahl is by far the quietest one I own. There's no way you could hear this thing in the same room if it's under the covers. That's how quiet it is. (But just a tip: buy it on Amazon. It's cheaper there.) Good luck! The Wahl is a great choice! And will last for practically forever!

What you say about the strength for a first time vibrator is a good point. However, this was my first toy and I loved the strong vibrations. It spoiled me so much that nothing else can compare anymore.

The Wahl is much quieter than other vibes of its strength. The Eroscillator is also a great pick for someone who needs a quiet vibe - I'm in love with mine!

The old Wahls used to be really loud, I'm glad to learn they're quiet now. I remember having one before I realized it could be used as a sex toy, and I gave up on trying to work out the kinks in my neck with it because it gave me a headache. I actually have no idea what ever happened to it.
