(Vanilla) Smells like vanilla cake! Yum!

This is a nice lip balm that smells like a piece of yummy cake! It moisturizes well and leaves my lips feeling soft and luscious. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who needs a deep moisturizing lip treatment though. This is similar to a daily chapstick for light/medium moisture. There's no spf in it but at least it's made of natural ingredients! It would make a nice gift for anyone. The price is a little high for a lip balm though.

Use

If you're bored of your regular chapstick and want to try something different then EOS is for you. EOS lip balm makes your lips soft, smooth, and kissable. It's available in vanilla, mint, and pomegranate/raspberry. I'm a lipgloss/lip balm junkie and even though I have a ton of products already I really wanted to try this. I've never used any EOS lip balms before and have heard so many good things about them! I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this for the first time.

This lip balm is best for anyone that wants smooth lips. Age and gender doesn't matter and there's nothing about this product that shows that it came from an adult website. It makes the perfect extra when you need a little something to put with a larger gift and it's a nice little surprise all by itself. You can carry it in your pocket, in your purse, or in your makeup bag. Travel with it, give one (or more!) as gifts, or just purchase one as a splurge for yourself!

EOS also has round/egg shaped lip balms available here on Edenfantasys. I chose the tube shaped lip balm this time but I'd love to try the other ones as well. This product is 100% natural and 95% organic so there's no need to worry about any allergic reactions. If you're sensitive or worried for any reason just try it once at first and see if you have any sort of reaction.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The lip balm is an off-white vanilla color. The texture of the lip balm is really smooth and soft. It's not sticky, slick, or greasy at all. It feels kind of creamy, waxy, and velvety and glides over the lips easily. It makes your lips feel like they have a thin waxy protective barrier which I really like because it stays in place. It seems to last for a long time (maybe an hour) but like most lip balms it'll wear off if you lick your lips, eat, or drink and needs to be reapplied often.

Taste / Aroma

The vanilla smells exactly as I hoped it would. It smells like a piece of vanilla birthday cake. Yummy! The scent is very light and can only be smelled when you put your nose close to it. When I was wearing it I would occasionally catch a faint whiff of that yummy vanilla scent.

When I licked my lips it tasted just like chapstick. It's not really flavored as far as I could tell. It just tastes waxy and slightly sweet. It's not a bad taste and there's no bitter aftertaste at all which is a good thing.

Performance

I've been using this lip balm and nothing else off and on all day long. It keeps my lips feeling soft and velvety. I've noticed that it doesn't really heal extremely chapped lips. If your lips are rough to begin with this is just going to cover over them and make them feel kind of sandy. It's best to use this right after you've brushed your teeth or after you've used a lip scrub when your lips are nice and smooth and ready for moisture. If you're looking for a deep moisturizing lip product for really chapped lips this might not be the best choice. This is more of a light/medium moisturizing balm to be used daily.

I really like the vanilla scent and I like the creamy soft texture of this lip balm. I like it so much that now I'm tempted to pick up the mint and the pomegranate/raspberry. It doesn't last forever but I wasn't really disappointed by it's performance. Most lip balms no matter how good they are only last for an hour or so at the most. I think for a lip balm it does a good job of keeping my lips soft and protected! The only thing that I would change would be to add spf to it.

Packaging

The lip balm has a thin sheet of plastic wrapped around it with all the ingredients/info printed on it in black letters. To open the lip balm you have to peel it off at the perforated strip and take it off completely.

The lip balm itself is very similar to a lipstick tube. It has a cover that needs to be pulled off before you can use it. The bottom needs to be twisted slightly to raise the lip balm up out of the tube. The plastic is an off-white vanilla color similar to the color of the lip balm itself. The plastic is velvety and soft to the touch and has a small indent on the top that perfectly fits the tip of my thumb. When I get bored I like to hold it and put my thumb in the little indentation because it feels really soft. I really like the packaging because it's very minimal and feels comfortable in my hand. Due to the velvety matte finish it can get dirty easily.

Follow-up commentary
This lip balm smells nice and feels nice but it actually made my lips worse! I used it every day without using any other lip balms for about a week or so. I noticed that my lips were getting more and more chapped and rough no matter how many times I used it. I really don't get it because it's supposed to be like a chapstick and moisturize your lips. I had to stop using it and use a different lip balm instead. I'm not really that impressed with this lip balm because it's not really doing it's job for me. It kind of seems like a waste of time to use it if it's just going to make my lips dry out later. It also feels slightly waxier than my other lip balms and it wears off quickly. I'm getting bored and disappointed with it so I kind of tossed it aside for now. It's too bad too because it smells so yummy.
