I am a huge fan of Liquid Silk for use during skin-on-skin play, but have never considered it thick or slippery enough for heavy-duty toy play. I have heard only good things about Maximus, and decided it was time to give it a try. I am definitely glad I did.
Like Liquid Silk, Maximus is a water-based lubricant, so it is compatible with latex condoms and silicone toys. It is clear and odorless, with a vaguely sweet taste, though I would not advise ingesting it. It is much thicker than Liquid Silk, with an almost gel-like consistency, and comes in a handy pump-top bottle. It is thick and stays pretty well where you put it, but is not sticky or greasy feeling. It is quite slippery, and stays slippery while in use with little need to reapply, unless you are involved in a very long play session or are playing with sticky jelly or heavily textured toys.
It is true this lube virtually disappears after play and simply absorbs into your skin. This is an awesome quality, because it is also designed to help prevent yeast infections and the spread of bacteria; thus, it is great not to feel the immediate need to rush off to the shower the moment you end your play session. Maximus actually left me feeling quite clean after use, and not sticky at all, which is fairly rare with many thicker lubes.
Maximus is thicker than I like for skin-on-skin intercourse with a partner, when just a light supplementation might be needed. It is, however, great for anal penetration, because it provides a much thicker and slipperier surface. I am just really starting to explore anal play, and I think this will be the lube that I will be using throughout. It is also going to be an absolute necessity with my silicone toys! It took a lot of searching, but I finally found a water-based toy lube I like as much as my Climax H20, and that lives up to the expectations of the Liquid Silk line.

I'm really liking this lube the more I use it. It is incredibly slippery, clean-feeling, and not stringy at all. It is definitely a prime lube for use with toys! And it's healthy for you! I held off trying this one for a long time, but if you like to use toys, do yourself a favor and give this one a try! It's become my go-to lube for toys, even over my beloved Climax H20!

I know most people absolutely love this lube, but when I try to use it, it feels like my genitals are on fire! Could it be due to the parabens? Any thoughts, or any recommendations for another thicker water-based lubricant?

I'm not sure if it's kosher to mention a competitor's product here, but BabeLube is a wonderful water-based lube that's comparable in thickness to Maximus.

Maximus is my go-to lube. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with it.

Is Maximus as Great as The Reviews Say?

Two negative things I've seen written are that it has a bitter aftertaste and it does peel off, dry, and need to be washed off.
Positives and opposites I've heard are that it has a natural tasteless feel similar to saliva, and it is a thicker lubricant. Also the pump looks like a great feature that makes this product less messy.
I would like to try it for myself, and wonder if it is really the go-to lube for me, and for others like me. -
This is my favorite water-based lube, hands down and without a doubt. It's pretty thick (ideal for backdoor fun). I've fallen asleep with it on my hands and don't wake up with fuzzy or sticky palms (until they get wet, then it reactivates).

It is slightly bitter but not bothersome. It is thicker and also works very well for anal. I never feel the need to wash it off unless I overdue in the heat of passion.

Does Maximus come in any other size bottles? I feel like 8 oz. would be a lot for me to use before it goes bad. Also, it seems like a big bottle to store somewhere discrete.

It really isn't very big - I have mine it a bedside drawer. Maximus is so thick that you don't have to worry about it leaking unless you really press on the bottle. If my mind isn't playing tricks on me, the bottle is about 2-3/4" in diameter and 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall (including pump), and I think it's closer to 4.5
I think mine's good to 2013 or something (I'm not at home now, but I can check later), so I wouldn't worry about it going bad -
